Deadpool Daily Quest - Round 73 - Feb 13-Feb 17

Okay, these are the last five DDQ's before it hits its 1-year anniversary. In the February video (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=39451), it was announced that DDQ would go to a more random format. I am assuming that this won't begin in Round 73, but just in case everything looks different, be forewarned.

If the random DDQ does start on the 13th, it would be interesting for people to post what they are actually facing. I am assuming that every single character won't be random on every single day--that just seems too random for game-balance purposes. I would guess that there will be a fixed grouping of matchups for standards nodes (and fixed set of waves for survival nodes) and the game will randomly assign your opponents from those. If everyone posts who they are paired up against, it should be pretty clear pretty quickly what the potential opponent teams are...or if they are, in fact, actually random.

In any case, the new format seems to render these threads obsolete. I'll keep creating them as long as the pattern stays in it current form, but once it goes random, the usefulness will likely be gone and I'll stop. Thanks to all those who were regulars and thanks to DearBluey for getting it all rolling. ....on the plus side, ending these will help remove some of Moon Roach's frustration from the reputation glitch that seems to come and go icon_e_wink.gif

Without wasting more time, here's the (likely) matchups for Round 73:

Thanks for the great work keeping this going ZootSax!

I forgot to record levels, but here's what I saw (if others saw it too, or do we all have random individually?)

That Guy From That Place -
    Daken** (15), 2 Thug (10)

    Under The Sea -
Wave 1 2 Decoys, Switch, Decoy (Decoy's are fake doom, right?)
    Wave 2 Beast, forgotten goons

    Third Time's The Charm -
    Deadpool*** (70), Switch (74), CStorm (71)

    Dat Required Character -
    Mags ** (60), Hawkeye ** (64), Ares ** (63)

    The Big Enchilada -
Wave 1 Ultron Sentries (2 yellow, 1 green)
Wave 2 dammit, forgot. All goons though (mutates?)
Wave 3 Xpool****, 2 goons (maggia, I think)
Wave 4 IM40***, BP***, forgot again

    Reward: Daken (Purple)

In hindsight, I should have written down as I played. I forgot more than I realised. Still, hope this helps for now, until someone cleverer comes along and corrects it.

I had the same as rainkingucd

I think the missing in wave 4 was dr doom - but I can't remember 100% either

It was good to have it mixed up a bit more... I didn't know it was coming and I didn't notice until the 1st wave under the sea when tiles were being matched against me and I suddenly noticed switch there!! Thought I'd gone straight to wave 2

And the ultron sentries certainly made the heart skip a beat too!!

Definitely changes things during the waves. No more stockpiling AP against goons to unleash AoE attacks in the final wave, at least not as easily. Nice to have some variety and a bit more of a challenge.

    Round 4 had 3* Mags.
Round 2 I faced Criterion, ...uhhh...the big one and a Control.

As someone who's never faced Ultron drones before: thanks for making the game mode I've loved for the past year a pain in the tinykitty.

They're still easy, just no longer pushovers.

I still use my team of 3* cyclops, 2* mags and 2* storm. Still spent the last two rounds (previously round 2 and 4) stunlocking and nuking the heroes using AP pooled during goon nodes.

I -liked- the pushover teams. These ones take longer to beat - one of the good things about DDQ was it was fast and easy.

If it's slow and hard, they could have added daily 4* or more ISO while at it. icon_e_sad.gif

Hopefully Ultron Sentries aren't a daily feature. Their ability to turn the board means they're not really equivalent to goons, and they've got far too many powers that are impossible to really counter - their board shake every turn, for example, which leads to frequent cascades. This makes for a frustrating experience.

I'd suggest adding an ISO prize for passing the first wave if they're going to be showing up regularly.

This is definitely a big slap in the face to the newer people and those still trying to transition into 3* land. I'm still undecided on whether I liked the changes or not... On the one side it was nice to get a mix up and get that surprised feeling of "I wonder what is coming up next" after each wave was cleared. On the other though this is alot harder for the people with young rosters. Personally I'm OK with it, but I know some of the newer people in my Alliance are going to hate this now.

My four 2*'s are max champed now, so they made it through both battles...but just barely. I think the 2* should be quite a bit easier than that, hopefully 2* transitioners can make it.

Similarly with 3* big enchilada - I like running that with 3*'s, which I probably won't need again that day. I don't mind if one dies or if I wipe...but then again, I have almost every 3* at level 170+ at this point. Shouldn't this node be quite possible for 140's, and not something they have to use health packs on when they wipe with the best team?

Maybe it's just a shift in what they want. I started running this with 3*'s because a year ago that was pretty much my best team. I could run it and have an easier time with 4*'s....but that shouldn't be a requirement, right? Isn't this something to help the 2* and 3* transitioners? Just because the vets have them champed doesn't mean the new folks will have those high level 2*/3* needed now.

The opponent being able to move tiles in the first round of multi-round battles is the biggest detriment. Curious if that continues.

and they leave a ton of ap for the next wave, basically giving the next wave several attacks primed and ready to go. I survived, but I was using witch166/fist166/bulls120. thormneto would have had more difficulty. not really a fan of this. and the witch/dp/storm node - glad that was lower level and undercovered. that's actually a PITA team. its fine if your a 3* player or if your 2* champs are maxed, but I bet 94s would have a hard time of it, which was never the case before. I feel for the those early in the 3* transition.

I did notice that the action figures in the background include the 5* characters... we'll see if that comes to fruition (maybe for Crash of the Titans on newer characters?)

My go to team in this... And has been for months is GSBW 5/3/5 168 (c) Switch 4/5/4 130 BP 4/4/5 168 (c)

Build up the purple and green for GSBW during waves 1 & 3
    Switch helps the purple collection
Meanwhile BP is collecting blacks in cascades.
Fire Sniper and Rage of the panther in waves 2 and 4 and finished.
Works every time including this new format

GSBW has always been in the team as she was my first maxed 3* before BP maxed and switch was covered better I used hulk and antman... Both under covered

Also used DD for a few weeks as a red collector

Well, that was an unpleasant surprise.

I see the main DDQ screen has changed, and it now includes the new 4* (except Spider-Gwen) and 5*, Ultron and a symbiote.

And whose feet are those just behind Colossus?

So DDQ is now harder, but the rewards are the same. Pretty tinykitty move. Whose genius idea was it to make DDQ harder, the same guy who thought sending people on suicide missions against Galactus was brilliant? DDQ was hardly unbalancing the game. The ISO shortage was unpleasant enough already.

I definitely feel sorry for people who are at earlier points in their roster development and have less powerful rosters.

Thanks for the big middle finger to kick off Valentine's Day! Let me guess what's next -- level 395 goons in LR?

Big thanks to everyone who helped compile the daily match ups. I'm glad to see that everyone at least had the same "random" nodes. It would have been ridiculous to add another layer of RNG separating people's transitions. I'm still holding back on judgement to see how this new format compares to the old in difficulty...especially as I didn't have Daken.

    Looking forward to tomorrow.

Sure glad I had enough blue and red for Steve Rogers to neutralize Black Panther and Iron Man on wave four. Those earlier wave built a LOT of red and black AP. Magneto's Polarizing Force did little becaus of the protect tiles I'd built, but Rage of the Panther and Unibeam could have jacked me up.
