Beating a lv230 team without Mags or Spidey?

I'm up against lvl230 teams. The only teams I have that can beat them seem to always need either Classic Magneto or Classic Spiderman.
Is there a team without Mags and Spidey that can beat a level 230 Ares/Rags/Daken team?

With a lucky board that gives you the colors you need early you might be able to survive with a boosted Captain America that is built to write over countdown tiles.
But that's the only thing that comes to mind.0 -
I've been using a level 18 MN Magneto to pump blue into Spiderman for stunlocks while Punisher or forced hero kills them off (or if the hero is Psylocke, I'm using Magneto's red instead). Without that, I'd be pretty much screwed given how hard they're hitting.0

Hulk/GsBw/someone to tank for GsBw
Let Dakan throw down some strike tiles. Then each match (thereafter) will cause Hulk to get angry and flood the field with green. Use Grey Widow's AOE attack to whittle them down.
Your characters need to be 100+ and fully covered. You're basically decimated after the fight, but it works.0 -
I'm slightly confused - what match has Ares/Daken/Rags in this PVE?
I've been using IM40 / CStorm / BWGS to reasonable effect. I haven't hit 230's in this event (most I've seen is 203) yet but it did pretty well in the previous PVE, and is doing well enough this time around. With that team, I come out looking pretty mangled against DA's and have to heal up in the prologue, but it can generally win.0 -
108 Punisher 3/5/5 + 85 Storm 5/5/3 + 70 BWGS 4/3/5 is my go-to team when Spidey is locked out of the node.
Get off deceptive tactics as fast as possible to load up lightning storm which will nearly reload deceptive tactics.
Stun, Molotov, Retribute as necessary.
If you get a **** board you may lose BWGS before she can get her DT off, but otherwise should be clear sailing once you do.0 -
Patch + Loki is a very good combo, especially if the enemy team can make strike/protect tiles (the Daken/Bullseye fight, for example)
Combine them with any number of other people for good results:
-Doom to make more black tiles for Loki to use, Also synergizes with strike tiles.
-Thor can feed Patch's Green.
-GSBW ditto.
-Hood provides good stealing while not being too vulnerable
-OBW for interaction with strike tiles if you have 5 Espionage.

The only non Spiderman based strategy I've tried involves Hulk. You hope that Anger generates enough green tile so you can do some massive cascades and enough to burn them down. Might be best to have Hulk + Modern Storm + whoever, because 30 green AP should allow Modern Storm to keep doing her combos for a very long time.0

I do recall doing this one once. It ended with Ares vs Hulk, and Ares killed himself with a Sunder while killing Hulk, but it still counted as a victory. Since it gave 3 character deaths, I didn't try it again.
I suppose the game might still be slightly playable after the Mags/Spidey nerf + lvl230 scaling, but I'm doubtful. I guess the devs want us to deliberately lose three quarters of the battles. Seems like a complete waste of their server when it's already having problems, for a mechanic that no-one likes.0 -

Due to the scaling mechanism if nobody could beat the level 230s they'd get easier over time, like the Devil Dino + Bagman battle in the Simulator.0

None of the missions require classic mags, I assume you mean MN Magneto?
C Storm can do the job though you need good board control.0 -
Magneto Marvel Now + Original Black Widow + Damage dealer of your choice.
That is a team me and my friend tried to work out. He uses it at the moment with good success.
Purple - either generate blue for black widow or steal from enemy.
Red - either for your damage dealer or generate ap from Magneto.
Blue - heal from Black Widow.
That leaves 3 colors open for use. Yellow, Green and Black.
You can pair them with Wolvie, Punisher, Daken for good strike tile synergy. (Assuming your Black Widow have at least 4 covers in her black skill, i recommend 3-5-5 build for her)0 -
Its levels like this where the 20% boost against Dark Avengers is so critical. I would use this and a 20% to a color and a +3 boost to that color as well. I don't know about post R48 now. I know my team could not do that without this boost combo.0

I've been using im40 to soak/generate AP, classic storm to stun/ generate AP, and Obw to deny AP. If you can get to enough yellow or green to cast with this lineup, you've won. Powered up Pun isn't bad either. His green shatters tiles, and his finisher cuts through enemy health. You really need at least one good powered up character to do it if you're not stunlocking.0

You're collecting Purple, Blue, Green, and Red.
Magnetic Flux is a nice chunk of damage AND it collects AP from shattered tiles.
Lightning Storm is great for AP generation.
Aggressive Recon prevents enemy from using abilities. It's easy to deny Hulk and IW but the Analyst is harder. Use this most of the time.
Polarity Shift is nice for emergency blue. It's technically identical to GSBW Deceptive Tactics. Use it the same way.
Wind Storm One of the best abilities in the game, and it's on a 2-star. Use it to stun and deal massive damage. Use this unless you need to heal.
Anti-Gravity Device A very good source of healing. Watch out for rogue countdown tiles.
Currently C.Storm and MN.Magneto are buffed, which makes them awesome.0 -
Like bugpop says. Ive been using mag mn, cstorm and spidey alot. But ya can switch obw for heals0

I could prob swap marvel now mag or grey suit for mags in my teams and do fine (I mean..I have to in the ones where marvel now is required).
Now, a team without marvel now mag (large buff), grey suit (you can argue damage on her green could be dropped, but she is there for the purple really anyway), obw (argued to be nerfed), mags classic (to be nerfed), spidey (to be nerfed), no punisher (pve god)? I am sure I could cobble something together if it was a high enough lvl, especially just a team of buffed heroes, but it starts to get more dicey/take more damage.0 -
There basically is no strategy without these characters.
You either get a good board or go home with your nuts in a sack.0
