Venom Bomb Reply [2nd Run - Merged Thread]

I just saw Venom Bomb is running again for New Years with lowered Legendary Progression but it's rewarding Thing/Human Torch. After what I experienced during Christmas, no thank you! I will kiss my wife when the ball drops instead of grinding nodes.

Okay, I logged in this afternoon, and saw that the Venom Bomb event is being rerun. That's perfectly fine b/c a lot of players missed it due to holiday commitments. BUT when I looked at the rewards and saw Thing covers, my question is: "What are you thinking, game devs?"

The WHOLE POINT of a rerun is to allow players, especially those who missed the first run, a chance at earning BROCK VENOM COVERS. I'm sure there are plenty of players who need Thing covers. But I believe MORE of your players need Brock covers, and given a choice to vote they would ask for Brock covers.

It's not too late to change the rewards! Please consider doing so!!!

It's also only the top 10 players that will receive Thing covers, not the top 100 that received Brock covers in the last run. Definitely not worth grinding those symbiote nodes to get top 10....

hopefully a misprint but it wont be.. Then again everyone watch them give out VEMON WITH EOS 7 day PVE that runs next week

The only thing I can think of is Dark Avengers was supposed to run after Simulator and it's Venom Bomb.. perhaps Torch/Thing were supposed to be the rewards for that event but I doubt it

I'm probably in my own little camp here, but PLEASE leave this alone. Now I feel absolutely no need to have to play this awful, cheap, artificially difficult event over a 2nd holiday break...

No chance I am grinding for placement over the holidays at a chance for ONE 4* cover (versus three in the last event). Don't need Torch. I'll pass. As far as lowering the progression threshold for the LT, the new boosted characters don't seem to be nearly as useful as Cage/Fist. Cage at least helped to save some health packs. Not looking forward to those symbiotes and Carnage with Captain Marvel and IM40.

AAAAANNNNDDDD on top of all that, I just noticed Thing is only handed out for a top 10 finish?? Not even top 100? What happened to the new PVE placement reward structure??

Captain Marvel can do wonders in this fight feeding 4Thor red and she can stun carnage with black. IM might not get use but CMarvel will.? Also Spiderman will give some nice protect tiles being buffed.

This is the new PVE event structure that wa announced. On non new release PVE top 10 will reward a 4* character to engage the player base to spend more on health packs. I mean give them an opportunity to progress to 4* land

I'm kinda bummed because I skipped the first run because I want to play PVE for t50s in nodes, and that ain't happening in a new character PVE, but I can't do that in this one because I don't have a single 4or cover.

I really wanted to give this event a proper try but it ain't worth it if I'm going to get barely any HP from it.

(I do need one more Torch red cover but eh depends where it is in the results)

The whole point of a re-run was to give people at chance at Venom since you ran a new character release during Christmas which is to say you didn't release Venom at all.
Not to mention the fact that you had back-to-back new character releases in the first place which was complete tiny kitty. Even if someone wanted to waste their Christmas grinding this game they better had gotten Miles in the previous event or they had no chance at Venom anyway.
Everyone that plays this game sees every event dozens of times...unless you never plan on running this event ever again the only logical purpose to re-running it now without Venom is to troll everyone.
Which if that was your intent, doesn't even surprise me at this point.

t50 does not require the 4* essential like t10 does. I'm running t50 easily in sim and didn't get venom. many don't like sim because of the scaling, but I'm managing. I need to get a handle on the goons - didn't play the first one much and won't play this one much either. need thing - might try a late bracket lottery.

I want to be confident I can t50 with three clears decently easily. That probably depends on bracket, and I don't want to do a bunch of extra clears right on the node-ending hour if I can.

Although, the t150 reward IS my needed Torch Red, and I still need that Shulk cover, hopefully can get that Legendary too....

...aw screw it I'll give this Venom Bomb a try. I want to see the tiny story and enemies anyways.

(And since when was "Give out the old rewards again" why they did a rerun? I remember back when they first did MEet Rocket & Groot, Run 1 was for Rocket & Groot, Run2, new character back2back, was for 4or)

I see that my thread got merged, and that's fine. Hopefully, game devs will read my previous post and make the change to the rewards.

Personally, I already max covered my Thing and I'll participate in rerun only for the LT progression.

I'm really surprised that people expected Venom rewards again. Sure, some people didn't get them the first time... but what about those who did? Top players would almost be completely covering him already. You couldn't expect in a right mind for the game to allow that. It was also quite clear from the announcement that the second run of the event was so people who missed it could experience the new story. Really sorry but you misled yourselves there.

Entirely dependent on bracket.

I mean i got #1 in an event and 4 miles covers without the 3 star and only semi optimal clears, only grinding in the last sub to hit legendary. But i tanked the events before due to fatigue of the game.
You can't leave a bracket once you get in so the person just has to cross their fingers. And thing is a decent 4 star compared to the recent string so competition might be decent.

I'm lucky and my Thing is already 2/5/5. Would love to have more red covers but I don't think I'll bother trying to get top 1 for it.

Edit: bad enough that I need to grind out simulator that ends an hour before the new year to get Jane's red and blue covers.

Without weighing in on rerunning the event with different rewards (I really don't want to grind it again), I have to push back in the "almost completely covering" part.

Two players out of every thousand would be able to get Venom to 8 covers (9/10 with pvp rewards). Come on - you can buy covers for 2500hp, which android players could get for less than $5 recently. Plenty of new characters get instawhaled to 13 covers without any concurrent discounts. Rerunning the event with venom rewards would not significant upset either the distribution of covers amongst the general player base or d3's profits (unless people are mad enough about the way that D3 have run the game this holiday season that now they'll spend less because of it).
