Common Forum Abbreviations

I figure this might help newcomers out since it’s took me a while to figure out what some of the abbreviations mean. Feel free to post others and I’ll try to keep the first post updated.

General Terms
MPQ = Marvel Puzzle Quest
AP = ability points
PVP = Player vs Player
PVE = Player vs Environment
MMR = Match Maker Ranking
RNG = Random Number Generator
OP = Overpowered (could also refer to Original Poster)
nerf = reduce in effectiveness
buff = increase in effectiveness
tank = lose on purpose to lower your MMR. Could also mean a character whose purpose on your team is absorbing damage
squishy = low hit points
battery = character that is capable of producing AP quickly
AoE = Area of Effect
IGN = In Game Name
tinykitty = word filter created to replace curse words
Intergalactic Space Vessel = kitch-en (word filter created for random posts about buying Fitted Kitch-en sinks. The hyphen is so I could type the word)
Intergalactic Space Fleet = kitch-ens (word filter created for random posts about buying Fitted Kitch-en sinks. The hyphen is so I could type the word)
Lazy <insert character here> = term used to describe a 3* Gold character that is a direct copy of their lower * level version. Community say the devs were too lazy to build a proper character with different abilities, hence the term lazy.
bots/goons/mooks = Non-superhero PVE characters that do not match tiles (e.g. Hammer Soldier, Maggia Thug)
TU = Team Up
TUAP = Team Up Ability Point
CC = Cupcake
LT = Legendary Token
CP = Command Point
HP = Hero Points

Proc means an action that results from another action, usually in the form <something> procs <something>.

I'll use it in an example that might make more sense than a definition:
Daken is a perfect example (assuming he has a purple cover). Whenever you match green tiles, it procs his purple passive of creating strike tiles.

Anyway, can someone explain DPS to me? Cursory googling suggests "damage per second," but I assume that when talking about MPQ, that refers to "damage per turn" or "damage per action"?

DamagePerSecond is just a common term used even if it does not fit really well in this game a more usefull term would be DamagePerActionPoint

I've been wondering what "tinykitty" means on here for a while. It seems to be used in a lot of different contexts, & I sometimes wonder if there are more than a few commonly accepted uses for it.

Oh I forgot that one. "tinykitty" I believe is the forum's way to handle curse words. If you were to try and type one, "tinykitty" would replace it automatically. As a test, "This game is full of ****". If it works the way it should, the last word should not be the S word and should say "tinykitty" instead.

That would explain why I've struggled to establish it's proper context. So it could be used as nearly every word in the sentence: **** the **** ****.

Lazythor was coined by soenottelling, and refers to how a lot of the players think that adding modern thor to the game was considered "lazy" because it didn't take a lot of work to do so. The character also looks kinda fat/lazy, so a lot of players thought it referred to that as well.
