Yeah I dont know who designed that node, but having like 10 different attack tiles and then these killer 1000+ strike tiles with a limited roster is just ... Well he is not very clever or he likes to see players loose.

I already had the legendary when I got to that node, and after playing it once and loosing (even after killing Carnage and one othe goons I was enduring 3000+ damage every turn and the strike tiles were unmatchable) I dicided to stop playing these stupid PvE event. Playing with limited rosters is not fair and it is boring.

Try to win Doc Octopus Manipulation Team-Up in previous nodes and use it to.

Also it is the best to first stun Carnage with Cap and then use all other abilities without triggering his Alien Instincts.

I used Steve Rogers, Iron Man Model 40 and Classic Torch.

Focused on Carnage first while using Caps shield to overwrite tiles, IM40 Yellow as a battery (curse you 4 yellow covers) and Torch green and black for draining health.

For the OP I suggest using Widows purple to steal and build up AP for Caps shields while making best use of Cages shields, uppercuts can crosses. Focus on Carnage while trying to match away the Lieutenants recovery tiles.

Yes it is an evil setup and you will need to start the match at Max health and possible a couple of AP boosts.

Ask your alliance for elektra teamups. icon_e_smile.gif suddenly you find yourself looking forward to having that threaten tile go off... 2x1k strike tiles for 7ap is pretty sweet.

I also use she-hulk, but she costs more and leaves enemy tiles on the board.

Alternatively, stun and take out carnage first, but that depends on being able to get enough ap fast. 7 tuap is cheap. Or 9ap if your alliance has moonstones to spare.
  • Cheers!
Will pray to the cascade gods too of course!

Once the Steve shield engine is running it should be ok...but just getting that going is proving elusive at the moment. That's even with OBW and AP boost. Guess I might have to add a rainbow boost too - but that feels like admitting defeat!

Finally beat it myself after stopping there last clear because I used all 10 health packs on it.

I focused down muscle first and managed to stop him from getting strike tiles up. With cage hulk and steve it was close, but barely made it.

Loki TUs, Elektra TUs, ***Bullseye TUs are all solutions to the Threaten tiles. Doc Ock TU is a solution to the general special tile spam.

I completed it using OBW, **Thor and LCap.

But yeah, it's a very, very obnoxious node. Especially when Carnage does his green wobble while at 21 health and kills your LCap.

Won't be doing that one in the end grind (nor much of the Carnage + 2x Muscle)!

not sure how they do it, but I every time I'm one turn from downing carnage he gets of the scythes. every time. glad I only had to do that node once for my token.

edit: since I didn't answer the question (sorry about that) - I used cap/im40/obw. get im40 yellow cds out asap and concentrate on blue. cap was down to about 30% when I finished - others were at about 70-80%.
  • Iceman saved my butt on this one with his cheap freeze. LCap,IM40, and Iceman with Red/Yellow boosts to get IM40 and Steve going early while Carnage was frozen. I wiped once because of a horrible board though so it's still a **** shoot. My scaling was plain evil on this pve.

I used (lvl 150, covermaxed) Steve, max Luke, and lvl 100 3/5/1 IM40.

Carnage first, stun him with blue before using the other powers even though he's already spamming tiles because of the goons. I focus on overwriting the Threaten tiles every time and if no threaten tiles, then the least matchable attack tile.

Threaten only needs to go off once to hose the whole match because of all those attack tiles. This is one time where I leave the Lieutenant for last. His heal is overcome by the sheer damage of Steve's boomerang Red, and Lukes Yellow/Black.

It's a pain in the butt, and if I clear it on the first try, I'm using health packs to heal the fellows anyway.

Edit: Steve isn't max leveled yet... working on it, but have had to divert iso to 4* for DDQ.
  • Using LCap, 2Thor, and OBW, I won it both clears with Blue/Purple AP boosts, deny red, gather blue priority. Use OBW's blue to heal back damage and delay tiles while downing Carnage ASAP. I found Caps stun to expensive to reliably slow down incoming damage, and the countdown management paid off much more.

Spike Carnage with Red when it's available, or if you get lucky, you also may have enough yellow or green to use Thors abilities to do damage as well.

That node unfortunately -always- results in using 3 health packs for me, regardless.

I used 5B Cage and Captain; hold behind Cage's protect and focus on blue and black, not using any skill untill you can stun Carnage. I made it 2nd try.

Apparently, someone on the dev team things this event was a gauntlet, and not something they intend for us to grind repeatedly.

Same but only 1 yellowflag.png on IM40, makes for a very quick LCap redflag.png which takes off approx half of Carnage's health.

With luck, Carnage goes down before the LCap redflag.png CD tile returns to you around turn 6 or 7.
  • Since slice two is almost over, I don't think there's any harm in sharing how I did it. First, I'm lucky that I've saved my obw max level duplicate from when I was really transitioning to three star so this is a bit easier for me.

The team I used was obw iron man cap. I would focus on yellow or blue, first priority yellow. This let me get iron man's blue red generator online asap. Then I would decide whether I could utilize cap's stun on carnage and take out a cool down tile. If there were too many cool downs I bit the bullet and hit obw heal. Then I obviously use the red to slap carnage and in three turns he'd be down. I'd I was able to get my yellow going soon enough, I could stun carnage and prevent tons of strike tiles.

If I got an early stun, I could walk away with just needing to use a pack on obw. Otherwise, I might need to also patch up iron man or cap. The fact that I had two obw obviously means that I could juggle them and stall my health pack usage by picking at the carnage goon nodes 4 or so hours out from the end of slice.

I was also boosting blue purple and red yellow along with packing a cstorm blue team up.

Personally, I'm partial to heroics because it means that all the people who use winfinite as a crutch have to work a lot harder than they are used to. Despite me not being able to pull off perfect cycles due to real life, I was able to end with a sizable lead in each sub. Granted, pulling the vault was of course extra incentive for me to get top two placement for extra tokens.

Cap/IM40/Cage, boost yellow/red, purple/blue, get Recharge out asap, stun Carnage, target CDs

But that's the thing... if this were an event with prizes people actually cared about, the grinding wouldn't be a whole lot less, but it would be a whole lot more expensive.

I think the key to this node is to stun Carnage as much as possible. Which pretty much means (given the lockouts) you need a strong Cap and some luck with blue tile frequency, or good team-ups.

I cleared the node with Cap/Luke/Colossus, but it was ugly....
