Now I'm surprised that you guys are surprised. I think the percentage of players who are in sufficient need numerous 4* covers, even among the forumites, is greater than you seem to believe. The meta-alliance I am part of now has at least 20 people that have been playing for well over a year. Of that number, only about 5 of us have more than one maxed 4* character. So again, the chance to pull Hulkbuster or Professor X after getting to 1300 is certainly more enticing than seeing Elektra or Star-Lord there.

I don't like it personally, but yeah, I expect the chance of a 5* with guaranteed 4* is appealing to more people than not, even if they can't hit 1.3k reliably. I'm just lazy and want to take whole pvps off without feeling like I will lose out on the new shiny thing! icon_e_sad.gif

Edit: just in case I got swayed by the arguments for the value of a shot at a 5*, the game decides to gift me a 4* in an event token... Carnage. AKA 1000 iso. Yay.

I think that is also one way of looking at it. Spending 400 - 600 hp to get *a chance* of getting a 5*. And considering how broken they are, it may be well worth the hp.

It took me 700 hp to break 1,300. I was in a shard with plenty of high scorers that time. It may be worthwhile to try harder to reach 1,300, unless scaling screws over my top 10 pve status.
  • as of now it is just a pipe dream i am maxing the last of my 3* and starting to collect the 4*s however roster slots are bleeding me dry. i tried to play pve last month for some extra HP and iso but rostering the 2* has set me back enough so that i'm barely recovering (opened a slot to house event required 2* sell after for next event 2* to sit in). real life and work has me scraping for a top 100 place in pvp even on low participation events. i feel like i have the roster to compete just not the time to pursue it. this maybe the straw that breaks the camel's back i have been playing causally for the last few months falling behind further and further in the 4 * race, now with the 5* s coming, all though they look awesome and i like the idea, i can't play they way they want me to to make any gains. PVE seems like an option but i only play those when i have time to commit to them if i'm lucky every 3 weeks or so. so make some progress has me intrigued but realistically i'm SOL destine to fall further behind. while im am excited with the changes, but i think i'm off to other games cause i can't make any steady gains.
