I think mercing is a terrible mechanic, and really defeats the purpose of team play. Alliance scores should be based on the roster at the start of the event, or at the very least have a 48hr cooldown after you leave an alliance (or before someone that left can be replaced) so that you don't get such drastic shifts in alliance scores at the end of an event.

eh, I don't really care tbh - but I've never been kicked up this far before - maybe 30 places, sure. But 50 places in only a couple hours?

the best solution is to make you progress with your alliance a la ultron, but shuma gorath knows what D3's mindset is...
