Can everyone expect the Juggs vault?

It's an 80-cover vault including one 4* Deadpool cover and three other 4* covers that would appear after the Sweet taco vault if you have access to it. Some people have it and not the usual event tokens for Heroic Juggernaut, some people have event tokens but not the vault. There seems to be no consistent pattern for who's in one group vs. the other. Platform, app version, noob/vet status, nothing.

Sounds like a well executed A/B test then.

My guess is that it's a bug, not a test. They've never done selective testing before. They usually release something new to everyone, even if it's not good/ready.

They have had selective HP sales before, so I could definitely see them trying this to see if it increases token buys.

I have the Jugg vault and I've already bought a daily deal token which is something I wouldn't have done with the regular token page.

Same here, although I had to reset it by restarting the app a squillion times before I got four usable 4* covers which is the only way the discounted token makes sense.

Allowing us to choose the 4* covers available would make purchasing the token pretty much obligatory for players who don't need roster slots.

You're not alone. The battery level on my phone decreased 40% as I was rerolling the vault. icon_redface.gif
  • I went ahead and updated my game review in the app store. Low ratings hurt them the most. I explained exactly why I changed the rating.

It would be really nice to get some acknowledgment one way or the other.

Upshot for me is there is no such thing as a 4* cover I can't use. None of my 4* are even at 3 covers in a color, let alone 5.
  • No juggernaut vault here.

Bought a token to see the result. 2*

Not surprised, but still disappointed. Especially given that it seems there's a pretty high volume of 4* awards flowing out of there.

    *sigh*

Juggernaut Heroic vault, what Juggernaut Heroic Vault? All I see is normal tokens.

    Confirmed, it's an A/B test.

Well that's good that we have an answer for what they are doing.

Now they just need to explain what criteria they used to select the lucky testers. Or
I look forward to seeing how they make things even for those of us that didn't make the cut. I play daily and I am a paying customer, I wonder what other criteria I need to fill to be given an advantage in upgrading my roster before anyone else.

I seem to recall that someone calculated the odds of pulling specific covers from the vault, and determined that they were on par with the odds of pulling those same covers from event tokens. Couple that with the daily deal price being 100 HP for each, is there really all that much of a difference?

The difference is, if the people with the vault buy 80 tokens, they are guaranteed a 4* Deadpool, 3 other 4* and 3 KK covers (rather top tier 3*). All covers I'd put at the top of my priority.

Hypothetically, if I bought 80 single tokens from the normal pull screen, while I'd expect a deadpool or two, and a few KK's with the boosted rates, none of that is guaranteed, I could pull 80 2*s. And the odds of pulling these characters don't increase with each token I spend like in the vault.

All in all, if they ran the test with Elektra and Beast boosted, I wouldn't care and I doubt people would be as reactionary

Well I hope they enjoyed messing us about. Hope they're all laughing at us expressing our annoyance at the "test," least then they'll have had something from it. Meh.

My main beef with it all, is them playing eeny, meeny, miny, moe with their own customers.

If they really wanted to test it properly, they should have just given everyone the option of using both the regular and the vault, then see which one generated more revenue.

To add to it all, they at the very least, should have put in a pop up at game start saying "50% of you will randomly have access to the juggs vault. The other 50%, too bad but please continue to spend money to support us"

Obviously with the normal draw screen you can draw almost any 3/4* so the vault is limited, but when there's a new character, 3 other 4*s and KK in there, most players would rather the vault imo.

True. I guess they want to see if the whales bite. Honestly, I'm a more casual player, so I'm not as fussed as some.
  • wow....I can't believe they said that...the vault of 80 is clearly superior to a %

  • If it makes you feel better, I have the vault, bought a 10 pack and got 9 2* and one 3* that I can't use.

For people who just buy daily deals, you are right. There isn't that much of a difference.

But for people who want to spend a bit more than that and are hunting for something specific, a vault visually confirms before you buy that you are buying into a package that has what you want, and then it puts a price ceiling on that package.

The price ceiling is a big deal and turns an otherwise abusive lottery system into something the customer knows they will 100% attain at a certain spending threshold.

The spending threshold they are currently testing is a fraction of the threshold found in deadpool's daily taco vault. Hence why some people are understandably upset. Myself included. This amounts to a giant sale for some and jack all for others.

This vault is best for "new spenders," people just starting out or just wanting to get more serious and need to target some covers they are missing entirely. That is probably such a tiny fraction of the population, that they could have easily alienated many of them with this a/b test nonsense.

But frankly, they probably don't care about this mid-level spender. They probably want to see if they can entice more people to hit up daily deals if there is a visual lure.
