wow... #1 to #85 (where i sit) is 5k difference. of course we have the final grind to make.
  • When do you guys generally start the end grind? I always seem to get ran over in the end of the events. I still place high but I don't understand how some of these ppl get these huge amount of points at the end.

I think the event just finished with me with 30 seconds left at 98.

When the cluck struck 12pm-101, when I click internally it still says 99.

    How... Lovely...

    Edit- Yup.

Kamilla Khan. And the event page still says I'm 99. icon_evil.gif / icon_cry.gif

Now I'm fairly certain I won't be joining anymore events as they begin any longer.

On a normal PVE I usually start the end grind about 2.5 to 3 hours before the sub ends. Hit each node a couple times and see where I'm at for ranking.

This is not a normal PVE, 4* release PVE's are brutal, insane bloodbaths. This one is even tougher due to the nodes. It takes me about 5 healthpacks and about 45 minutes to an hour to do a single clear of all the nodes. If I would have started final grind with 3 hours to go I could only get 3 clears on each node in, which would probably dump me outside of top 50 for sure.

I'm in slice 3, so my end time is 4PM CST. Last night around 10PM I started hitting nodes hard. I did each node 3 times and I was out of health packs and my roster was basically dead. I was using non featured characters on the easier nodes, and the boosted guys on the harder nodes. When I went to bed around 1AM all the nodes had at least 1 day to regen to full points. Today I'm working on another 2 clears of each node, possibly 3. I'm gunning for top 10, but will settle for top 20. I didn't play perfectly this time, there was about a total of 3 to 5 hours where I had nodes at full value which is wasted points.

Long story short, the heavy hitters in PVE grind nodes down to nothing if possible and play perfectly. I can't imagine what kind of time they put into this game.

edit: I managed 15th in my bracket, but #1 scored almost 10K points more than me with 68,025 pts.

I just finished with 68k... made it 6th with less than 2k ahead of 10th and about 3k behind 1st.
Started the grind about 3h20 before the end and grinded all node to 1 except the sentry one which I didn't touch and the 4dp one where I missed I think 2-3 clears to hit 1. Finished the sub at 6 so I guess the 5 before me grinded absolutly all nodes, as I made optimal clears since the begining.

So time spent was about 40mins for each clears every 8h + 3h hours of grind for sub 1 + 3h20 for 2nd sub.

I guess i'm done with pve for a while icon_lol.gif back to pvp !!

I only joined this pve because I thought I would fall into a noob bracket where I wouldn't have to grind much to finish high... what a joke icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Btw, I made the grind with patch/loki/if and cage/hood/cap. My 10 health packs was enough with all that grind if that can help. icon_e_smile.gif

I have a new-found respect for those who grind at the end of events. I was missing Kingpin for this one, so I hit all my refreshes the last few days and today I started grinding 3 hours before the event was over because I knew even with that much time it would be tough for me to get nodes down to 1 point (which I still never did, got 'em to around 100). I was neck and neck between the #10 and #11 spot and they had Kingpin. My last win with 10 seconds got me #10 though... Just picked up my 3 covers. This makes up for all those times I was the guy in the 11th or 101st spot icon_e_biggrin.gif

Salute, people. Despite my best efforts, I finished #102 in my slice 4 bracket. Less than 100 points separated me from #100. I was actually finishing up a node worth 100-ish points but was a few seconds too late in doing so. Overall, can't complain, finished with about 54k in points - I was missing the final grind-down on Deadpool vs Heroes so I had nothing but myself to blame.

This was a brutal event and one that finally, really, burns me out of MPQ style grinding.

My slice was especially brutal, with #1 finishing at 71800 and #10 at 69800.
  • Phage, I was 103 in the same slice icon_razz.gif Was in the 50's most of yesterday and even up to a half hour before I was top 80... but my grinding didn't pay off lol. My top card is a 166 and the scaling was over 280 for the final deadpool node. Chewing through 42k of hp on mobs takes a while..

There is something seriously wrong when your alliance loses 60+ places in a 24 hour period when just about everyone in that alliance played their butts off. It sucks when you have to remove people and "hire mercs" to make top 100.

Professional sports have a trade deadline for a reason.

There should be some time limit as to when you can make changes to your team before it is locked in for the tournament in question - good people who play hard are getting screwed for either A) being loyal to their alliance or B) being unwilling screw others by jumping ship right at the end of a tournament.

I know I'm beating a dead horse with this rant, but I don't spout off too often and just was really frustrated this time - I was in a brutal bracket where 67K only got me 15th. That's fine, I can accept that because the others ahead of me gained more points. They earned them. But it did add to my overall frustration.

    I'll quit my whining now...

Huh, 1st in my slice 5 bracket had 5k less than in your bracket. but 10th (me) had almost 1k more. I wonder why my bracket was so much more compressed.

Snuck 14th in s5 that opened late.
Didn't think i would make that as i was just treading water in the mid 30s for most of the final 3 hrs grind and only wanted T50 for the HP. Hit T20 with about 40 minutes to go and kept going.

1st was about 5k ahead so it doesn't look like anyone got in when the bracket opened and made use of the full clear you could get.

On a bracket related not, alliance mate has only played DDQ for 3 weeks, which is about 3/4 PVE events missed. He was put into a newbie bracket and demolished it for first.
  • kind of miffed I didn't get at least top 100, pretty much all because my work schedulded me for saturday for no reason de-optomized my grindtime.

I did get a Nick Fury for the final sub....who is technically 4*......sigh

I finished 112 in the same slice as Phage and barrok. I was grinding until I had no health left but couldn't gain any ground with everyone else doing the same. Very tough slice as I had others in my alliance get Deadpool with much lower scores than mine. I need to learn to pick a better slice. haha

you keep your alliance top 100 by not getting top 100? icon_razz.gif

Also, you were in the same bracket as me and phage, so that didn't help. It super sucked.

basically, yes - my score was sufficient to get top 100(or better, depending on the bracket I guess), but the bracket I'm I was in, as you know, was a crapfest. I can secure top 100 alliance but top 100 personal I didn't get here or with jean...
  • Good thing I winged it and got a great bracket then.

    47k netted me #29.

  • Hey guys,

I'm super new to the forums here but have been playing MPQ for just over a year now. I placed 2nd in my tournament for Deadpool V MPQ which ended on monday morning around 4 or 5am? Not sure if anyone posted about my tournament. Just interested to see how everyone did. I enjoy playing the game and building my roster. My game play name is also Supermanwiz
