  • bleerrrf. Im not sure Im cut out for this PVE. Ive got a boosted 2Marvel and Wolverine skewing my scaling, and my bullseye is undercovered/underleveled to pair with the two, and everyone else is 20-30 levels below the opposition. This is the first PVE node in awhile where I just had the door slammed in my face right at the start. And I haven't unlocked antman yet because I don't have a roster slot for him. icon_e_sad.gif

I've been under the impression that boosted characters don't affect scaling. That is, the scaling is set by the unboosted levels of your roster. Do you have anyone higher than level 94 on your roster? With that said, I would still expect that 2Marvel and Wolverine could do work paired with another 2 star.png . OBW seems like a good candidate since you'd be lacking an active blueflag.png and purpleflag.png , and she's also strong against goons.

That's how I would approach at least. Good luck!
  • Finished Anderson Inc on my stream for those who want the lowdown.....

had so much trouble on these nodes, not sure if it's because I'm saving health packs for PVP or since my scaling is up for having super high level thor/iron fist...ares is a pain

In terms of puzzle quest 20-30 level deficit is not much. The game used to scale up100-150 levels above you. Though not sure if that is still case as I no longer pay attention to levels in pve.

But with Ares on nearly every node things can be tricky. Darn he can be 30 levels below you and still really hurt. Muscle is even worse. Can well punch above his weight and he is a big fella.

Best thing to do is post if any nodes are giving you problems and someone will try and help. They always do. Anyway good luck!
  • I have pretty much played the entire event so far with LThor/LCap/OBW. OBW is present for control and although she needs healing every 2 matches, she saves me from so much damage on the other 2 characters. LThor is also amazing when he is boosted. 6800 damage in main target and 3400 on everyone else is just too good. Of course, those Muscle goons have 17k health and their strike tiles hurt a lot (2x1088), so it's kinda balanced. But the MVP is LCap. Repetitive 5700 with CD overwrite is amazing. I don't know what I would do in this event if I had no LThor/LCap. Highest level node at the end of the last sub was 320+ so, even without community, scaling is crazy. If they want their game to be any fun they need to re-examine the enemy levels.

They definitely do as far as I can tell. A few events back, things fell where I had an underleveled 2 star essential and so since my highest leveled char wasnt a boosted one, things fell in line with my normal roster strength.

Hmm, perhaps. Have to be careful about comparing different events though. I think the initial scaling on this event just happens to be higher. I have a strong roster, and even I'm struggling to not use a health pack or two when doing my clears. My normal nodes are 26-41 levels above my highest character. Others have also mentioned the high initial level and choice of enemies making this event more challenging.

scaling is based on your highest character....powered up(or not if powered up if less than your max natural level). My scaling right now is alot higher b/c I have maxed IF/Thor as opposed to last event, where I didn't have characters that high.

Mm, I still disagree with this assertion.

Initial scaling is based on more than only your single highest character. I suspect, based upon the way team-up awards work, that it's actually based on your 4 highest level characters. For Enemy of the State my four highest boosted were Human Torch (214), Daken (240), Falcon (169), and Sentry (169) for an average of 198. For Thick as Thieves my four highest boosted are Thor (260), Iron Fist (220), Ant-Man (180), and Captain America (169) for an average of 207.25. The difference here is marginal, only ~5%, so I don't think it would cause a lot higher scaling.

I think the differences in scaling between events is primarily due to them being different events. It's clear to me that different events have different initial levels on the nodes and different scale factors, apart from any influence by the roster of the player. Another point to keep in mind is that Enemy of the State is quite easy. While the wave nodes are time consuming, the majority of nodes consist primarily of ninja goons. With enough time and desire, I could have easily ground every sub to 0 points without even using all of my health packs. If we compare that to Thick as Thieves, we have to fight scaled Dark Avengers and it's difficult to complete some nodes without taking significant damage.

i wasn't sayin' it was based on only my highest -

majority of events have same scaling, there are some whacko events
  • Scaling is crazy. What else do you call a 276 team of Hood/Ares/Ragnarok the first time you play the node? I can still manage (barely) but this is not what I call fun. I mean, we play games to have fun, right? I doubt the devs are even playing their game? It looks like all they do is take a look at their spreadsheet of data and sales and make changes accordingly. Oh and they balance a character here and then, unsuccessfully most of the time. Just one more day of this torture.
  • Just finished Scotland Yard on my stream if anyone wants to see the enemy layout and such.

Well, it could've been an Ultron node(I think ultron is only character to break 395, he was 405 or somethin')

Yeah but don't forget you get the chance at one of those awesome Standard Recruit Tokens!

Yeah business partners. Now that's a fun node, but still think the one before it the meeting is worse.

Combination of Dakens cheap powerful blue with the Hood is a recipe for pain.

I used an mbw team up on that one the first go - stun hood and work him down - I don't have any more so not sure how I'm going to handle that. probably ask for stun team ups.

First two refreshs have took them down first time also with Rogers, Gamora and Loki.

Just sorta stunned them to submission but they are scaling higher. Mags getting more healthy each shot so going to get trickier.

Stun team up is a good idea.
