I have to thank Nymr83 for his comment of 295th after 1 node in the sub. I was about to just throw in the towel. I hate PvEs but I like the chase and the thrill of everyone competing all at the same time.

I gave up, went to get food.
Came back and thought about the HT token. As above it was worth 12k, did that node another 2 more times and it became clear T100 should be doable. Didn't even do a complete clear, just hit the essentials and the first regular Wave fight once.

Standard Token have given me first (Thank You)
2x EoTS token yeilded a Patch, which i didn't need

Not bad for an hours work and beats grinding over a few days

yeah at this point I'm joining all pve's late.
I guess I got an invisible woman cover from one of the survival tokens so it wasn't all bad.
But 7 days left me at 150k with 114th place.

Moral

2 brackets opened at once. Rookie bracket my wife took 2nd with 322 players. She joined at 75. Other alliance mates joined the other fresh bracket and 2 placed top 10. 153 joined the other.

I can't imagine the number of people adding in the stale bracket who ended up waiting.

I got into the bracket that followed morph3us and yogi's. Ended up a few places back from SnowcaTT with one yellow Ant-Man cover.

I've been slacking in PvE, and my last 5 placements before this event were 73/118/6/50/40, with scores of 76/58/318/89/126 percent of max progression. I can't say for sure if the bracket got into for this event was normal or hard, since the leaders are all speedsters I'm not very familiar with:



Edit: This bracket ended with 153 players total.

I might've seen BuffDudley, windfallstar, Hayek, and KPxPower on leaderboards before, but I can't say for sure if they have a good record or not. If anyone remembers their placements and scores for the last few events, we can compare notes to try and figure out how normal/hard brackets are assigned.

You don't need to leave it this late, usually at least 1 / 2 new brackets open after the initial rush. Usually one 1/2 days after the initial one.


Crusty bracket pulled about 100 people into it.
So about 550 odd altogether joining last minute.

Bowgentle doesn't have 5 purple for Fist or 5 blue for PX so I'm pleased with managing t10 on his account, lol.

5 covers for myself + 4 covers for Bow = earned 9 covers for a week (my own score, about 254k) and 2 hours (Bowgentle's 56k) of work.
2 hours of grinding... Intense, crazy, but much, much more rewarding and spitting to the face of everyone who had to start early and drop out for various reasons.

I think that brackets should force close 24 hours after opening and there should be no new brackets with less than 24 hours' time left in an event, personally. Something along the lines to both prevent last minute brackets and the horrid stale brackets that stay open for days and days on end.

That is some good data you have there. If we can assume you got placed into a normal bracket due to the no point or 151 ranked events (was your Thing bracket normal or hard?), and I'm still in a hard bracket despite placing 73 / 118 previously, then that really helps narrow down the conditions for getting dropped from hard to normal brackets. I'm surprised your 1st place Falcon didn't push you back into the hard bracket too.

for you guys who made the fresh bracket you are welcome. I couldn't force myself to stay up that late and joined at 981. one clear still put me t400 for the sub for the token at 20K pts. it filled during my clear. was kinda bummed but no way I could have stayed up later - need my beauty sleep I would have just joined and not been able to finish a clear and probably still ended up outside t100.

I ended up going to bed about an hour before the last bracket opened and have no regrets about that. I've now missed the launch PVEs of two of the last three new characters - though I did get Carnage on the re-run - and really don't mind. 4* tournaments are too miserable to be worth losing sleep over.

On the plus side, I suspect, by the time the next character launches, I'll have dropped into the newbie brackets. The Thing launch PVE is the only PVE I've played since the Carnage re-run, and that was the only one I had played in since the one where Bullseye was a progression award. And we're not getting any new characters for at least three weeks.

I thought they said we weren't getting anyone new until the 30-day Ant-Man event was over; that's what I was basing it on.

From what i remember from the sub scoreboard this bracket started at least the sub before.

Hazy memory but the sub scoreboard looked like:
t1wk was 5 on 58k
Frisco in the top 10 with at least 2 others
All between 50-60k.
On paper it seems a little low but there was a 20k pts spread from T1-10 when i entered so they may have been cruising.

From overall bracket
Rosters
P1 - Scary, every 4* maxxed
P2-10. 7 have at least maxxed 3* with a few with max covered 4*. 1 has 114 limit, all max covered. P10, 3* transitioner lvl 140 and around

Around me....
1x scary roster, 4*s max covered lvl250
6x 3* at various states (max 166 to mid 1teens)
1x 2* max
1x 2* transitioner (1 or 2 max)

On the way up most of the rosters i checked where all 3* transitioners

Thing, i joined the very late slice 4 and was thrown into a stale bracket so i didn't play. I classed it as crusty Vet, i suppose this might be a normal bracket but i wouldn't know.
After the Newbie slice i was thrown into a Vet slice but didn't play as it was a tests / didn't need anything.

I mentioned in a previous thread, during the original run of Ultron i missed/low scores in the 2 PvE events that ran. Prior to that, more or less at least T50.

I just missed t10 in the last minutes after 7 hardcore days of grinding.... and seeing people join last minute getting it with 1/6th the points i had.. kinda makes me a little angry.. we need something to remedy this, i feel so shorted now.

Good news is, 7 days of grinding, and getting all rewards in all nodes, i have 2 new 166's, yay for iso.
