No Sales For You - Independence Vault Edition

In general, I put my money where my mouth is. For anniversary and Ultron, I bought a total of 3 10 packs and every 50 HP daily deal. In addition, I scrambled like crazy to unlock every token reward in the nodes and progressives.

Flash forward to Patriot Vault. I will not be spending any money (yes, not even the 50 HP daily deal) or putting additional effort into gaining these vault tokens. The only things that would help me in my vault are 1000 HP and a green rags cover.

I will also not spend 1000 HP to reset my vault, especially when there is not a guarantee the new vault would be any better.

I do not blame the Vault concept for this; I'm still a substantial supporter of the dpdq vault. I do think it appears someone failed to recognize the distinction between an every 5 day dpdq vault and a special week long event vault.

Off the top of my head, the Vault should have a certain amount of fixed (meaning not random) rewards. The easiest solution would probably have been one random color cover of each of the last two new 4*s. I'm seriously hoping of sales don't meet the bar they set that they reexamine the way rewards were chosen for this special event vault, and they don't erroneously view this as players being unenthusiastic about the concept.

TL; DR: If you want players to buy special event tokens or to be excited about earning said tokens; then, the tokens have to offer rewards players are excited about.

Mine has one red steve and one yellow cage and that's it for me. Dang. My roster has lots of holes too, just happens to have all the colors I don't need. Damn you Steve Rodgers Yellow!!!! (Mine is 5/2/2 so of course there's two more yellows in the vault.)

I've got an Elektra Purple (just got my 5th from 1k in PVP) and a Prof X blue, which would be my 5th. Other than the 1k HP and 2 3* that I would add to doubles, I can't use anything else. I bought every daily deal for the anniversary and the Ultron runs, but I won't be buying any for this event.

Mine has the HP, a KK and a Rags I could use. 3 out of 47. I'm not even going to buy a 50hp token. I usually buy one every day when they come that low

My alt account has a crazy good line up though. Just my luck. I pulled a Kamala with the first token there.

Just a quick note on odds:

1000 HP: 1 = 2%
4*: 2 = 4%
3*: 16 = 32%
2*: 31 = 62%

Not bad at all if something you want is there for the 4s and 3s.

The only things I need are the HP and the two 4*s, and neither 4* (Elektra and Starlord) is one I care very much about, so I think I'm giving this one a pass.

I need the 4*s but almost none of the 3* covers, 3 of the 13 I could use, but am not in a hurry to get.

Zero covers I need. I'll use the event tokens to try to get the 1000 HP I guess?

It sucks to get a bad vault. But the concept is pretty cool. Just wanted to add that

Black XFW and Blue PX, both of which I could use, plus a smattering of 3* covers I could use to respec a few characters, so not terrible. Given that it's a 50 reward vault running over 8 days, I'm tempted to buy the daily deal. With 9 reward tokens from progression for the next three events, and 8 daily deals, that's a 17/50 chance that I'll pull one of the 4*s that I could use, which will only get better over time, if I don't pull them. I'm liking the concept.

Agree, the concept is cool. 50 items is a lot better than 300, like in DP Daily. I just got a **** selection of what's available in my Vault, which I think is the OP's main point. If I didn't get a **** vault, I'd definitely buy every single 50 HP token.

Agreed. It's a great concept. When you fill most characters from events, tokens in general just aren't that exciting anymore.

I just wish that I did not have 3 in my vault when all I need is

EDIT: I haven't got any tokens for the Independence Vault nor took advantage of the daily deal yet & my vault content is changing every single time I get in / out of the game. So I am guessing that you can refresh your vault that way until your are happy with the content & then buy a 50 HP deal to seal that one in. Worth a shot!

As someone who is in the no Taco Vault for a looooooooong time club, I'm glad I rnged a worthwhile Independence Vault so I could try the system. With 2 usable 4*, the Daily Deal is a no brainer.

It's... fine. Don't really like the rotating character symbol as it makes it seem as if we have some control over the selection -> it's our fault if we whiff.

(Yes forum, I know this is not true. Yes forum, people should be stronger mentally. Like you! You don't have to make the post.)

I don't not like it, and there's probably some people who do. So yay, good job, I would really like it if you all would start (keep?) working on the massively improved mobile display that was on here a little while ago.

You can win them in the next 3 PVPs, Cap America, Falcon and Cap Marvel, at the 300, 650 and 900 pt marks. They replace the PVP/event tokens.

My 3*Cap is optimally maxed, but damn...my vault has:

THREE yellows for 3*Cap and one blue
Two blues and one purple for Falcon (already have 5 blue and 3 purple)
One yellow 3*Mags (already have 5)

Theres two Kamala's purples, one black Luke, one green Loki, one blue Doom and a green Torch. And of course, the 4* and the 1000 HP.

9 out of 50 with 8 tokens doesn't sound too good...guess i'm passing on this event.

And i also don't like the repetitive color covers. Sure, it's great if you get 3 Iron Fist black, but chances are, you are not. At least one of each color should be represented. Don't know why one color needs to have 3 covers while gets none.
My vault has nothing less than FOUR Patch reds...

I guess it could be much better if they reduced a vault reset to only 50 HP, at least for once or twice during the week, since it's a comemorative week.

We heard your complaints about the way RNG was being applied to placement awards in PvE and PvP events. Our metrics indicate that the player base loves the RNG of opening tokens, but it's the sort of thing you really need to experience deeply to get the full effect. Good players buy token packs, to really get that heady RNG rush. Since it really is just a numbers game, we decided to add a second layer of RNG over the RNG of opening tokens - what covers will your vault have inside? Don't like the contents, just give it a spin!

Grabbed the 300 pt token in Cap PVP. Bought one Thursday night, after the other thread said their's swapped after buying a token. I got a 2* Daken. 300 pt token, 2* Magneto. Bought one just now, technically Friday, got 1k HP. Awesome!!!!
