We get away with 1 cover and 600-700 less HP for a roster slot for a character who will sit there idle for 1-2 years. So play, or no play makes very little difference.
I thought that too (other than pve essentials requirements) until I hit 1000 for the first time last week. if they don't change it, the new pvp scoring created a ****transition option for those willing to spend hp on hopping. granted I've only done it once, but I've only gone for it once too - 600 hp for an xf green - still sounds expensive. wonder what the vets think would be worth it...

Slice 4: 364 players Current leader is Muie811 with 46859 Points.
  • I have no idea what is meant by slice or how to get the slice number, but the time reset for me is 2AM EST, and the leader is currently "theotoro" with 36798 points.

Edit: Oh, and we have 1000 players.

Slice 3 has 3 known open brackets, I have no reason to believe there will be a fresh one opening before the event ends. The bracket I am in has 795 players (Top players: ehpbraga2, Maniac_a, Patcasal; #1 has 45172 points).

What this is about is each of the 5 ending times that you could choose from at the start of the event. Each one is called a "slice" or "time slice".

We track brackets with less than 1000 people in them to see when they will be full so that folks have a chance to jump into a new bracket and potentially have less trouble accomplishing a higher rank.

These threads are especially useful during new character events and 4* events. This being both of those makes this thread invaluable if you couldn't play this last weekend and want a chance to compete for a Carnage cover.

Do we know how many are Vet brackets?

I don't know the names of the leaders you mention, but I don't typically play slice 3.
  • Due to a major RL scheduling jam, I can only join slice 5 for the Iso-8 carnage*pun*. I also won't be joining, due to my chronic lack of HB, until after work on Wed(~ 2300 DST).
At this point, I will expect nothing, and be pleased with anything that happens.
Also, I'll post the slice info after I join, to aid/prevent the suffering of others. C ya then!

Vet slice 2 is now 578 players. I am not sure it will be full before the end of the event...
Now, stay tuned, because many players who are not in the forum will probably try to enter in the 2 last days, so everything remains possible icon_e_smile.gif

Wait. So if Im understanding right, you could in theory wait till the last few days for a new bracket to open, hop in, and compete with other late joiners for the same reward as people that did the 7 day marathon? Obviously, you wouldn't be getting the daily rewards still.

You are correct sir :p but you do run the risk of the brackets not filling and being left with no chance of placing.

    You are understanding it correctly.

It's a gamble for new players as you may be stuck in newbie brackets for a time and it's harder to get reports on those, but the end is the same goal: avoiding extra time spent in game for an unlikely reward.

And as mentioned right above, there is the risk of not getting the chance at a fresh bracket.

Yep, you got it. Based on my experience, in a 7 day event you can get the progression rewards if you play for ~half the event. I usually let 1-2 subs pass until I join and I still get the max progression rewards. However, this time I was tired and I was enjoying my break from the game so much, that I didn't miss playing at all. So I will join very late and hope for a miracle. This is the problem with a reward that is given only to the top 50. Even if you join a relatively new bracket, if you missed the ending of a sub, the other players have a huge advantage. I really don't understand how some are able to play 3 times a day (for a clear every 8 hours) for a total of 3-4 hours for 7 days in order to get (the vast majority of them) 1 cover (top 50). And we are talking about a shallow match-3 game. So many wasted work hours. It is crazy what addiction does to people. And yes, I've been there.
