Well. I came here to read the complaints about all the Hood nodes in Colombia, but since there don't seem to be any, I guess I'll start.
He's in seven nodes! At least he's not being fed yellow in any of them. And I finally have Iron Fist and Blade up to enough covers to try that strategy.0 -
So new and improved PvE means Juggernaut in every node followed by Hood in every node? And you're forced to face a 200+ Hood with only 2 characters?
The only reliable way I see of clearing the 350+ Hood/Doom/Moonstone node is to use the 3 +2 AP boosts, match purple, use IF purple turn 2 and hope you cascade enough to Overdrive -> Repulsor Punch Hood, killing him no later than turn 3. Outside of that every strategy seems to have a 50% or lower success rate. The fact that Moonstone easily steals your tiles makes Daken/Blade/Falcon an even worse crapshoot than it used to be. For me the Team Up has almost always been CMagneto Red too, so when they use their TU they tend to get 20+ AP from cascades.
Edit: Even if you had a maxed Johnny Storm, his red does 2599 damage, his black either does up to 8x134 or 8x173 , and his green is 139 (1253 max) or 209 (1879 max). Hood has 6587 life at 216. I don't see him pulling his weight in almost any scenario.0 -
Man, this is stressful. I just know Im going to get to the later phases and be unable to clear, and Im gonna lose my overall spot. First time I've really focused on it, and each day they just keep upping the levels on the guys while my own guys are not improving. I was giddy with finishing top 2 in my bracket not once, but twice, for the first two days, then last night I was nowhere near it, and I dont think tonight will be much better.
I mean, Im still #2 overall for the week, but Im starting to stress as more people start putting more effort in Im gonna wind up dropping further down.
But Carnage. He's my favorite symbiote. Gotta stick with it.0 -

That last node with Hood, Doom and Rags tho..... It took me half a day's worth of healthpacks to finally get a cascade in my favor!!!0 -
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water.
The grind for the last sub was bad enough, what with hoping Juggernaut/Ares doesn't sneeze on you, but Columbia!?
The last node got a lucky start only for the AI to get an even better one. Limped through to the later stages.. luckily had an Ares TU to eat through the green AP that was just sitting there since turn 3!
I can only hope people start to ease off, as i can't see this grind going well. In facy it's almost worth grinding the last node down early before community scaling kicks in, not going to be able to hit it to 1 tomorrow.0 -

This is what I do every time nodes look like scaling is going to make them insufferable. I grind the hardest down as much as I can on the second clear, and the next hardest on the third clear. I ignore them after that. It's not a top two strategy, but it's usually good for top ten. While everyone else is throwing their teams at ridiculous nodes during the final clear, I'm just squeezing points out of the easy ones.
I call it: Community Scaling, be the villain, not the victim!0 -
In the guantlet, i came to love hood, and used him in so many teams...
Columbia make me want to give him a neck-tie.0 -

Yeah, the problem with The Hood isn't just that he's annoying to fight. When enemy teams are 50-70 levels higher than anything I can throw at them, AP denial is essential. I want Hood on MY team!0 -

None of the enemy teams use green, hulkbombing really works when they scale to the point of every demon setting it off. With Kamala and Cage, i have been tearing through some of these nodes.0 -
I actually prefer fighting Hood, who takes a considerable time to active his attack, than a Juggernaut who's able to chain attacks and kill you in the first turns...
AP denial works quite great against Hood, playing a yellow-power user (so you use these APs) and high damage dealer character, like Thor can allow you to get rid of him pretty quickly ! Also consider using damage bonus generating characters like Daken (who should be lvl 150 for you if you play the 2* character), as he will cause a lot of pain. And of course, considering his low health and dangerous potential, always get rid of him first !0 -

With Doom creating so many blacks, Mystique is priceless (if you have the covers in shapeshift)0 -

edit: last node was much worse. took me 2 times but limped home for my first clear of the event...at least it looks like I only have to do that one once.0 -
almost 70k points and not even top 30.. my bracket is rough... my alliance has 7 people who have hit progression.. not even in top 250..
i take it people want carnage.0 -
Just finished up Colombia on my stream if anyone wants to see the lay of the land:
Didn't see anything too obnoxious, but of course, overscaled Hood + Doom is pretty unfun at the end of the day.0 -

Wow, I'm thinking I got the lucky bracket...
I had absolutely no consideration of seeing T150 yesterday, and yet I appear to be stumbling toward T100 today...
Currently just passed JS progression, not sure if I'll make it to IM40 (which I will immediately sell due to my endless roster slot shortage).
2 of 3 essentials, not clearing in a remotely perfect way (hitting essentials every couple hours for healing, missed my second clear), and yet steadily climbing?
I guess I'm going to start playing "for reals," because I could use that Mags ...
DBC0 -
I forgot how effective Hulkbombing is...I guess I was obsessing too much over Iron Fist and the lack of Magstorm
Just finished Iso-8 brotherhood: Canada on my stream if anyone wants to see it(Hint: Hulkbombing is your friend), nodes weren't too obnoxious but you're gonna lose health packs/refreshes just from the sheer amount of times you have to face Doom/Ares0 -

When did the bracket start?
70k get's you top 5 but our bracket (last slice 5) started 2 days after everyone else . It has been a crazy grind, never had to grind close to zero and hit the hardest nodes. There are gaps developing but i guess the top 10 is competitive so everyone is forced to keep grinding to maintain position. Hoping the last 2 days it will slow down, i mean a 4k gap is enough right!?!
I forgot was suppose to stop grinding for 4* as they just sit there laughing at my roster costs.0 -
I have an alliance member with 76k who is out of top 50... I feel very bad for him0
