Why do people have so many Duplicates of a Character?

It may be that even though he doesn't need the 4* cover he is being a total bro about it and fighting to help somebody in his alliance bag one.

I guess the question is, what reward is left when you've already bought your way to the end of the game?

When there's nothing you actually have to earn because you've already bought everything, the only thing left is to hope that you enjoy the challenge of the actual MPQ battles.

And I'm guessing that anyone who grinds that hard, that often, even though he's already got everything, probably doesn't even like doing it all that much.
  • MPQ has no end game. So the reward is in the journey. They fight for placement because there is nothing else.

Plenty of people have left because the grind got to be too grindy, but those that stay do it because they like it. Placing top 5 in PvP or PvE is fun, but it's also work. A lot of work.

So then, if you are going to be playing for top 5 because you can, and if you are going to be handed these covers because why not, then it makes sense to roster a certain amount of duplicates to save on health packs. Kinda. I mean, the cost in roster space alone could buy you more health packs than the character will ever possibly save probably, but hey. If you already have everything, what's left but 2 of everything?

This right here. I have all characters in the game and duplicates of most. The duplicates I leave at base level. The main reason for this is because it's more fun. To me anyway. Like when facing 3 opponents at lvl 35 - 45. Sure I can use 3 characters that are lvl 166. But if I do, I win the match in a matter of seconds. So, by using 3* characters at lvl 40, or a couple of 1*s at lvl 50, it's more of a challenge. And to me, that's more fun.

Coincidentally, I was just looking at your roster (in a battle for season standings) and saw the amazing roster that kept going and going page after page. I may have lost count scrolling 6 at a time, but I saw 126. Is that number accurate and what do roster spots cost at that level?

Maybe I have more roster slots than d3 has released characters.

I was looking at the top rank for season and I saw your alliancemate's roster (the1whoknocks).

He's got 96 roster slots. Fully covered and leveled versions of every 4* and then a bunch of nearly fully covered replacements for them.

Every 3* fully covered and leveled (except for 3* Ms. Marvel).

I was blown away by how awful this was, because I know that he doesn't even need any covers. So when he wins 1st place in his season and in his individual events, all he is doing is keeping the 4* covers out of the hands of those who still need them.

That's the messed up thing about this game. People who have the 4* covers win the events that people without the 4* covers need to win in order to get the 4* covers that they need to compete with the people who are winning.

Just wanted to say that i think the1whoknocks is one of the most epic names in the game. That the player has a boss roster only adds to its epicness and good luck to those who hear that knock because you know it's going to be a battle for that top spot!

    That is all.( ̄(エ) ̄)y-゚゚゚

And it is very likely that, looking at his roster, there is no shortage of money to buy the roster slots.

What double rostering the character can do is give you two differently covered versions of the same character. I've seen this with OBW a lot. You've got the big damage from espionage when boosted to 150 build as 5/3/5, then you've got the 5/5/3 option for taking on CD tile generator nodes, etc.

There are certainly times when I'd use a 5/4/4 Blade and other times when I'd use a 3/5/5.

Should the tokens allow it I strongly consider having a 5/3/5 and a 5/5/3 Luke Cage one day.

If the AI wasn't so useless with the Jab, Jab, Cross, there would be certain situations where I would totally use a 3/5/5 where someone else would be using the yellow.

Problem is, up to this point, is there another yellow power that you would rather use than Luke Cage? Maybe 3hor + Luke Cage + KK (?)...
