Who do YOU take down first? Healer? Most damaging?

As far as goons go :
I've read that killing Muscle last is best, because Tommy Gun will rarely drop, but if it DOES, everyone is gonna die. What say ye?
Lieutenants and healers in general should go first, right?
If its goons AND characters, which do you prefer to get rid of right away?
As far as actual characters go :
I always kill cStorm first, so that she can't get off Wind Storm, PLUS her Raging Tempest may not hit even once, that way.
And what about Rags? He is SUCH A PAIN IN THE ASHTABULA! If I try to take him out first, he'll continually heal himself (yes, of course I am trying to deny him blue, all the while) but his teammates will continually attack and whittle down your health, so even if you DO down him, you may not have enough health left to finish the other two off.
Who do YOU usually take out first, in any given situation?

I tend take out characters that steal AP first (Hood or Loki), those with quick damage abilities second, then aim to one or two shot self healers (or Hulk)0
-
i tend to knock out the one who has the best chance to kill my teamif it is a hard goon or a character if it is like ares muscle i'll get ares first to remove the matching , healers are annoying but by the time they get going im almost done on the threat, then the healers next. if i'm not making any head way, i'll focus on building ap, and taking down CD tiles when possible, to shoot off an ability to knock them out. but i usually bring OBW to a goon fight soo useful no matter what their level is.0

Some character you don't have a choice like The Hood or Kamala Khan for self explanatory reasons. Usually going for the guy with the least HP that's still a threat is a pretty safe bet.
Muscle should be attacked first but downed last amongst goons. They're not that threatening but a Tommy Gun that resolved successfully with Threaten tiles on will definitely ruin your day, so you want to have an option in case Tommy Gun does come down in an impossible to remove spot.
In terms of villian/goon combo, usually most goons have far too much HP to attack first. Notable exception would be Doombots. Analyst is another relatively low HP goon with a dangerous feed (+1 red, but deadly with certain characters).0 -
AP thieves first. After that it's whoever annoys me the most (Prof X is very very annoying). Healers aren't much in the scheme of things. And self healers are generally last, because I don't want to waste my match damage on them and I generally need to build AP to use 1-2 abilities to burn them down.
In goon land, it depends on the team. Mostly I just kill whoever they put in front of me, as one goon is just as annoying as the other. The only exception is when there is a massive HP disparity or I need to down one to remove their countdown tiles form the board.
In mixed matches I try to take the characters down first. Goons damage can be avoided entirely whereas match and ability damage adds up.0 -
Kishu first.
Always.
ALWAYS.0 -
Kishu is the one that drops Caltrops yes? Then a big YES to dropping him first.
I drop Muscle first in all goons and sometimes with villains/goons nodes because those Threaten tiles make every match the equivalent of Gamora's red. Worse when the AI get cascades.
In all villain (Dark avengers) nodes, i tend to drop (in order but depending on situation)
AP thieves - Hood, OBW
Big hitters - Juggernaut, Ares
Moonstone/ venom/ Rags (depends on the AP they have)0 -
Any what I'd call nuisance characters.
So anyone that drops a tile at the start of a round like Luke Cage or Iron Fist or Blade
AP Stealers like OBW or Hood.
Characters with inexpensive spammy moves like Professor X or Human Torch.
Just those characters that just cause problems. I usually end up saving the heavy hitters for last. Often they take some time to build up the AP for and if you take out the guy healing or stealing your stuff first you slow them down.
Characters with auto heal like Daken and Patch I leave last once I'm able to just nuke them to death.
I hate those times when I don't notice I'm fighting Patch and I spent the last 10 rounds throwing rocks at the moon.0 -
Now they just need to merge muscle with kishu, right? Oh the profanity on he forums.0

Yeah, pretty much this. For me, it's stealers, healers, stunners and tanks. Special targets are always Hood, Bullseye, Professor X, CStorm and Hulk - plink those last two with match damage to bring them down under the damage threshold for AoE or individual attacks. I'll always leave high health, moderate threat for last - ones who have powers with high costs but high damage are less threatening than the ones that interfere with your ability to either gather AP or inflict damage.0 -

Priority targets definitely the Hood, Loki and OBW. Especially OBW in PvP. Otherwise due to her anti grav you risk having to fight the battle three times.
With goons definitely muscle and then snipers. They can seriously spoil your day.
Another key target Is Falcon. Always try to get rid of him before he does his bird dropping attack. If he manages bird strike and inspiration you will be their all day!!0 -
Definitely get Classic Storm first.
If she isn't handled carefully she can get your entire team with Raging Tempest.
Carelessly do a attack that hurts the entire team, get them all below a percentage of their health? Storm treats you to a 2000hp attack 3 times in a row on your entire team. It can wipe your weaker characters out and completely turn the tide in a match you were easily winning before.
Always freeze or completely kill classic storm first!0 -
Lieutenants have to die first when facing soldiers. Otherwise they start spamming out those wretched 2-turn heal tiles and will just keep prolonging the match.
I usually get rid of Muscle first in maggia matches. Otherwise it takes just one cascade from a resolved Threaten tile and you're in serious pain.0 -
Others have mentioned versions of this, but I tend to, when I can, not attack enemies that have "reactive" attacks like cStorm until I'm ready to down them completely.
I also try to take down "active" enemies first, IOW, enemies that move the board before goons, etc.
I further try to choose heroes that allow me to deny strong enemies while also gaining on my end when possible (Cyke vs. Venom for example).
Finally, with all other things are considered, I tend to focus toward static healers (lieutenants) for match damage and away from mobile healers (Daken, etc.) until my specials generate... sleeping dogs and all...

The same rule always applies for target priority: drop the most dangerous enemy first. That obviously changes based on team composition,
But the opinions above are generally pretty good:
Hood and loki have to go asap. Same with trap tile makes like kishu, and fury. And insta-damage characters like prof. X or iron fist.
Ares is also a common first target (except is Ares + juggs nodes because he is even more dangerous than ares with 2 good 6ap powers)
I guess the rule of thumb is to target the enemies that will prevent you from playing the match you want to play. So if there are good ap stealers (psylocke doesn't count), they are first. If it's a team of enemy damage dealers, the fastest damage dealer comes first. If trap tiles will make you unable to match certain colors (or scared to make matches at all), they are first.
Also, I always target muscles first in goon nodes. They are just too dangerous. Deadly if they fire Tommy fun, and they make everyone else more painful too.0 -
Whoever told you to target Muscle last was either trolling you or an idiot. He's priority number 1.0

Another thought for you... when I have a mixed character/goon team I generally go for the odd-man-out: if there are 2 goons I take out the character, if there are 2 characters I take out the goon. That way I am only playing against a single mode of play as quickly as possible. For Hammer troops Lieutenants (healing) have to go first then Pyros (quick AoE damage). For Ninjas it is Kishus (caltrops, tile stealing). For Maggia it is Muscle then Hitman. For Mutants I take out Criterions and Controls first.
I agree with the majority of the posters about characters... take out AP stealers first (Hood, Loki, OBW and Blade, though I don't really count Mystique in this group). cStorm has to go first as well. Regen characters go last (Patch, Daken, Ragnarok, X-Force (unless you have a black-rich board)) because you generally want to hit them with large abilities and take them down fast.
Also, the quicker the characters abilities, the higher priority they are. Take out Psylocke before Thor or Cap, because you can probably get your abilities off before the big guys do. Especially if you have an AP stealer on your team.0 -

Agreed, but I have to admit that I spat my drink a bit at the "before he does his bird dropping attack". I pictured Falcon summoning a flock of pigeons to tinykitty all over the enemy team. Now THAT'S a superhero tactic!0 -
There are many layers of goons. We see the Magia and Hammer goons most of the time. Its a little lengthy but here’s my priority lists for goons:
Thug/Sniper/Muscle/Don – Always thug first cause the Pistol ALWAYS goes off faster than Covering Fire and Threaten. Then Sniper cause Covering Fire gives AI a free boardshake and its lethal with Threaten tiles. Muscles next and then the Don.
Hammer/SHIELD goons – This one is a little foggy for me but the Lieutenant is always the first target, then followed by Soldier cause of Suppression Fire. Then whichever goon that has a Rocket or Flamethrower countdown tile on the board.
Brotherhood Mutants – I can’t remember their names but I’ve always targeted the skinny goon that drops the Green Unstable Blast cause it always goes off fast but he also have enough HP to withstand match damage long enough for me to drop some AoE without triggering his Detonation. I target the Big one that uses Merciless Crush next and usually leave the other 2 goons for last.
Hand Ninjas – Kishu is top priority like everyone said. Then the Shinobi cause Shurikens can actually build up to a lot of damage without protect tiles. Next is the big fella with Meteor Hammer and finally the skinny Tetsu-something.
Doombots – We rarely see these guys but I think the Doombot that looks like Dr Doom does devastating damage, so him first I guess.
As for actual characters everything everyone’s said previously holds true. AP stealers are top priority (damn Hood and his AIDS). For Dark Avengers that we meet so often, Jugg, Ares then Moonstone (I hate her cause the devs love her so much). Rag, Daken and Yelana last.0
