D3 is giving 4* covers in the daily shield supply (that's how I finally got the missing green Dino cover), and occasionally you'll get lucky with getting a 4* cover from a token (like me getting Star Lord red from a DA heroic token this week). The point is that there are other ways to get 4* covers, and DDQ should not be a way to distribute them.
There is a difference between difficult and almost impossible. Even playing optimally, with the correctly covered/leveled chars, it is a very long term prospect and will only get worse as we see more 4*s. Maybe not DPDQ, but there should be something similar to cut down the time for a F2P person who collects every available (progression/quest/season) reward to a reasonable length (3 months?)
They should run a real PVP with 4* as a prize not just for #1 but similar to the current 3* format where they are prises for finishing top 5,25,50, or 100. They could then have them be the buffed main character. They could be the last progression in PVE.
There are lots of things they can do to make the 4* characters easier to obtain, they just choose not to becuase people have been willing to pay $$ for them so far.0 -
C'mon now, if MPQ truly represented the US economy, then the 4* guys would be the ones writing all the rules.
Also, they'd be able to hide their 3* and 4* characters in off-shore servers for the purposes of determining scaling.0 -

Agree here. Having to average >6 clears per alliance member per refresh is insanity. For a 4* the average to full clear should lie somewhere between 5 and 6 probably.0 -
I actually love having to work hard to get something great. In the Dark Avengers PvE, I finished #2. I finally got a nick fury cover and all of Colossus covers. It was hard work but it was fun battling for Top 5. I am a 2*-3* transitioner and Im 149 days in. So keep it the way it is0

Get back to us when you're in the 3-4* transition phase and scaling hits you like a ton of bricks in PvE.
For the average 3-4* transitioner, PvP progression rewards (including the alliance season prog reward) are the only reliable way to get 4* covers (and this takes a lot of time and effort as well, along with 150-600HP in shields and/or communication outside of the game).
With the current amount of 4*s that have been released and with more undoubtedly on the way, you'll only be able to get about 1 cover per 4* per month, unless you opt to pay. I think that process is a bit too slow and could use a nudge, even if a weekly DDQ-esque event would be a bit much. Perhaps introducing a 4* top progression award for 1 PvE event a week could be an idea? That way it would still require you to put the time/work in, but you'll be able to progress a little bit faster in collecting 4* covers.0 -
Not only should they start using 4* progression rewards (there is no reason that Storm cover needed to be there), but also running events that hand out existing 4*s for placement. Especially if they plan to keep up the 4* required thing. An event that had Nick Fury as the top 50 prizes (and a top 100 alliance prize) before an event where he was required would be a fresh change of pace around here.0

I'm getting lvl 300+ enemies. I know its hard to beat them and I usually use boosts to beat them. Sure its annoying but its fun when you know people do the same thing and get the same points but their scaling is way lower. And the 2*-3* transition isn't hard. I habe like (12) 3* and the most they have is 6 covers. Then with them adding more 3*s and already having (30+) its gonna be a long time before I even get one fully covered and/or maxed. Im having problems making top 100 because matchmaking is having me face full teams of 166 and above(buffed). I'm getting 300+ enemies in PvE and my top characters are buffed 2*s. My top 4* is starlord with 2 covers.0 -
puppychow wrote:Just to build on my man Husty's post. .. in MPQ, if you want to build strong rosters and do well in events, you basically have to either spend the time to grind in pve events to place high and get those cover rewards, or blow $$$ on 42 cover packs and hope you get the covers you need. Since I'm not rich, I chose to spend the time to grind. For a enemy of the state pve event, with a new HulkBuster cover release, I was spending at least 3 hours per sub for this event. That's a lot of time, no? The time spend grinding in mpq meant I couldn't do other things, like going to the theater to watch Avengers Age of Ultron movie. It's a question of making choices of how you spend your time (or money).
I totally disagree with the suggestion of offering 4* covers in DDQ, because I view 4* as special class of characters (despite the nerfs) and they should be difficult to get. D3 is giving 4* covers in the daily shield supply (that's how I finally got the missing green Dino cover), and occasionally you'll get lucky with getting a 4* cover from a token (like me getting Star Lord red from a DA heroic token this week). One this I would advocate for at least is to have PVP (whether in season, or out of season) include the 4* char events in the rotation, rather than just a one time thing. It seems a shame that a 4* character only gets a single PVP in their lifetime, while 3* get rotated endlessly.0 -
I'll jump in here to say that I think they should do something like this 4-star saturdays and sundays, to make it easier for players to get them. You still need to have 1 cover of the character in the first place, so it's not like they're making it super-easy. Maybe at the same time, they could also fix the reward structure so players with an established roster have at least as easy a time progressing / earning 3/4*s as the newcomers. The game should really not be about who has certain character (s) and can hammer away with the 2 who haven't been completely nerfed yet in favor of the new releases, and more about encouraging and rewarding the use of a diverse roster.0

Maybe after they make these changes, they can also change back LRs to the way they used to be, so that we can actually get enough ISO to level up these 4*s...0
