Since I need two Squirrel Girl covers - and nobody else that is or will be in the odd rounds for the foreseeable future - I decided to cash in my 40 reserve tokens. For the first 31, all *s, but the last 9 had unneeded Doom and Lokis, and a couple of 250 HPs. Around the 30th straight 2*, I was thinking I wasn't going to get anything. Still a pretty terrible pull rate.
On the plus side, I'll be able to tell my token stockpiles apart until they screw something up again.0 -
1000 ISO for the first two days,
Daken is annoying as i've a 0/2/5 build..
Worse still, it's the Ninja / Muscle team up for Green SQ. Could have been one of the first two which would have been better.0 -
Wow, three attempts for Loki, and no joy.
Wiped in 1st, wiped at the end of the 3rd (yeah, I ), wiped in the 1st...
Poop.

Do you have Falcon? If you have a reasonably covered/levelled Falcon multi-wave fights become a lot easier.
Charge up his purple and deploy asap, then use yellow Inspiration to charge up the protect tiles. By the time you get to the final wave of badass enemies pretty much nothing can harm you. Lazy Cap is really strong in this format as well as you generally recoup the AP deployed. Wave 3 just ends up being an AP charging session in prep for Wave 4...0 -

Nope. Nothing really above 2*s. A 1-cover Falcon and a 5-cover (122) SRCA, but not much for 3*s yet.
How's this for crazy awesome though. I was feeling let down after wiping repeatedly, looking for something to play while awaiting my PVE nodes refresh, decided to play a DO PvP match, won a STANDARD token, aaand...
I swear to God, I pulled the Loki. Out of a Standard token. I don't think I've ever even seen a Gold out of a Standard, but there he was.
DBC0 -
Cool, yeah you do get the odd one, I got my 5th Berserker rage cover from a Standard token only yesterday, unexpected bonus.
I got 2 Iron Fist covers in a row from standard tokens not long ago...I think as many of my 4* tokens were from stds as heroics, always worth getting them as you never know what they'll give you.0 -
standard tokens are great, you're not expecting anything so when it comes it's great.
For the PvE i let them stack up and open then at the end.
Best haul was from 60 standard tokens, pulled 5x3* and 9x2*.0 -

As a pure 2* team, I've had luck with Thor, OBW & Bullseye (yes, really). It gives you decent-to-excellent abilities in all colors and a steady flow of "free" protect tiles. Bullseye's black ability is surprisingly versatile; allowing you to often create match-4's to clear rows containing countdown/other-special tiles, assuming you can't match them directly, in addition to the more obvious uses for critical tiles. You have to be careful, because Bullseye tanks nothing so OBW can take a hammering if you're not paying attention. That said, you can usually have 3+ protect tiles by the time round two rolls around and Thor can really quickly clear a wave if given enough AP. Having strike tile generating team up's helps OBW a lot (you could also use Daken or Wolverine in place of Bullseye for strike tiles, but I don't personally like Wolverine's synergy with Thor and Daken removes the effectiveness of OBW's black passive).
In any case, good luck.0 -
MNMags, cStorm, OBW used to do the trick for me.
Now it's 2*Thor, OBW, cStorm everyday.0 -
I tend to use CStorm, Ares, and OBW for the two nodes where you can only use 2*s. For the one that has two waves, Wind Storm/Rampage/Onslaught tends to instantly wipe out the second wave. If there's a survivor, it's only one and they usually have less than 100 health left.0

Oooooh. My Doom will be 3/5/5 this week.0

Except today for me. Same team, not so awesome results.

Get as much yellow as as possible. That might mean getting red. Trey not to take any green. When Thor can yellow, it'll have massive crits. Let Storm get around 18 green. Use the green. And that's usually enough to have one move for each color in the tank. Never use her blue on Goons. Is you're about to die, use ONW blue. Always kill the final Goons standing with Storm's green our Thor's red, since they are the least wasteful.
Boost Rainbow x 2 or Crit x 3, if need be.0 -

This is such great advice. I think I know this at heart, but that d@mn green is SOOO tempting (2hor). If I'm understanding you, I shouldn't be trying to slow CD tiles with OBW, but instead waiting for low health only? I think that might be another hole in my technique.
I don't use Storm blue on goons, and I tend to try to end with 2hor's red, so I've at least got that part down...
Thank you, and cheers!

I never tried using Loki against muscle goons before (I never had a remotely decent Loki until very recently), but stealing threaten tiles basically ends the game if they can't be matched easily. After wiping on today's final node 4-5 times with my usual teams, I coasted with Loki on the strength of having a half dozen converted threaten tiles negating all damage for the rest of the match. It was kind of crazy...0

This morning I had 7 3* covers waiting to be recruited, each unique ones waiting for some reason to pick them. Today I decided to open up a slot to get Squirrel Girl, not to keep, but mainly just as a chance to get the extra 3500 ISO-8. Good thing for me that I did, because the second Taco Token was 250 HP! Enough to open up another slot for Doctor Doom, and then I'll replace Squirrel with either Psylocke who is coming soon, or Vision if I manage to unlock him in Dark Avengers.
Tough thing about being a 2-3 transitioner who doesn't spend money on the game, I end up selling off a lot of 3* covers I would like to play with just because I can't justify getting rid of one of my existing heroes if I don't have 2 or 3 of the covers to start with.0 -

* board doesn't give up black, or
* while letting a few threatens go off one creates an unseen match and starts a cascade.
with my team it would only help for about 1-1.5 rounds because between thor's yellow and storm's green and mag's purple and red, I'm cycling the board tiles pretty often. I would use a loki black team up though.0 -
Wow, what a crazy ride...
Got my 2nd SG , and man, did I earn it.
Lost 2hor early in the 2nd wave (CM ate all my attacks, and ultimately dropped him.), and literally finished the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th waves with OBW and cStorm... alone.
Felt like forever, but talk about a celebration afterward! My second DDQ victory!

I used Loki, 3 Cap and OBW to good success in the Big Enchilada today. OBW doing a lot of Aggressive Recon got me a lot of red and blue for Cap, so my opponents were either stunned or getting hit with Star Spangled Avenger. Had Loki ready with Trickery should any strike tiles get on the board and his Mischief helped a ton too.0

MNMags, CStorm and LCap/Cap/OBW do it for me every time. The ninjas are the hardest to get by, but I can work them. OBW delaying timers is a blessing especially if she is stealing at the same time. Just try not to rush the non-movement player rounds. This is where you stockpile the AP you need. With the CStorm/MNMags combo, I rush the purple and blue. Drop the purple for Mags and collect for storm. This sets up his red for quick damage if needed. OBW could be stealing the whole time. When round two comes up, I drop the wind on two players and try for a quick green from her and then drop the third wind on the last un-stunned player. Then drop another purple if available or a red to complete one character. finish off the other two with whatever powers work the fastest and then repeat the cycle for the last two rounds.0
