Ambivalent feelings: tokens as compensation

I think it is cool to get any compensation at all and I am thankful. But I can't help it, tokens don't feel like the right way to do it (hero points of course do ).

Some players get a 4* Hulkbuster (or even more) or usable 3* covers and others "cash in" 1000 iso.

Don't get me wrong, I do not begrudge anyone from getting awesome pulls. I just don't understand the need of luck for more/better compensation for problems.

Tokens as compensation is a joke. We all know theyre very likely to give you nothing of value besides iso.

got 3500 iso, and a couple 2*'s.. oh well.

I feel the same way. It's cool that they gave us anything at all for free, but for me (and I assume many people), all of my tokens gave me 2*s, and while the 100 HP was nice, those 1000 ISO weren't really much compensation.

Though I also have another game on my phone where three of the four tokens were 3* characters...

This is what should of been given for the problems with Ultron Round 1 Many missed the first 2 to 3 rounds so they would be the tokens you would get. the 100 Hp was a nice added thing..

Now like i said this should be given for the TIME WE COULD NOT GET IN THE 3 ROUNDS

the Witch and QS covers still should be given.

Then we need to talk about what is going to be done about PVE and PVP..


If the the tokens was just for round 1 problems i would say it was the right thing... If the tokens and the 100 HP was for everything then that is total **** i lost more then that on my PVP and PVES

got 100hp, an IF green and three 2*s. love the IF green but with the problems they had I agree its just dumb leaving it up to luck.

I'm with the group that got the equivalent of 1K (if it's truly random, about 1/3 of players). .. Compare that against the 5% or so of players that will pull 3x 3 or better from four tokens. (To make my math easy, I'm using 25% "good pull" chance.)

So, tokens, meh, but it leads to a pretty uneven compensation.

I wonder if that was compensation for just round 1. It still says "Rewards Pending" in the Ultron event. So I hope it's not overdoing it to expect more then 4 tokens and 100hp for BOTH rounds

Tokens are fine. They're mostly what we would have received during the event anyway.

Good lord, I swear that if somebody gave something awesome away for free (even not as compensation), people would still complain.

In the end, I'm sorry you all feel that way.

But it's always the case with tokens - some get luckier than others. And in this event the most rewards were tokens. So there is nothing worse than if they were won through the game. On the contrary some people would get luckier than others with HP and token drops from SW essentials.

i think it is full on bologna, a small chance to get something awesome as a compensation. My alliance lost out on hulkbuster because we did not get scarlet witch until day 3 and some of us might get a decent cover from the 4 tokens but most will end up getting 1000 iso from selling our 4 (just like i did)

Not to mention all the other events that were trashed during this event and the lovely decision to have 3 events happening at the same time that had 2 brand new characters up for grabs. And the events at the beginning of the ultron event that all were trashed.

I like the idea of making up to us the issues and I appreciate that this a free game but your users are highly invested (huge time sink) and I personally spent a great deal of time and effort to have pretty lame rewards.

I got my first Prof X, the final Black BP cover, a Blue Doom cover, and an Ares.

I used the first two. Others have said it. Basically they gave away tokens because there was no way to guarantee that all players involved would have hit 1,000,000 points and or all rewards.

I'm not complaining. Just got my next several roster slots.

A cover you would have earned barring server issues is a cover you wanted. But a token could be anything, even the cover you you would have earned.

Hmmm.... blue Mystique 800 progressive pvp cover oddly looks like purple moonstone. -_-

Pulled another Hulkbuster and Black Panther... Does anybody think HB will be the essential character in the next PVE? I guess I could make room for him if that's the case.

Not a fan of tokens as compensation because it could be great for some and suck for others when everyone was equally locked out during server outages. My understanding is this is for the server issues.
With my sucky draws the 2nd run, I had very low hopes for results, but I did pull 4 gold cards:

full disclosure for first run, I got all rewards, so this part does not affect me. However, it's nice to say no way to know players would have hit 1 million? Why don't we know? Server issues. Do players have any control over servers? No. Yet, who is penalized because of server issues? Players.

Which leads to the question I can't figure out the answer for. Why are players the one penalized?

That said, I remember when we got no compensation and that was after lots of back and forth with cs. This is still light years ahead of where they used to be.
