What about the "each character is 1 Iso below their previous level" thing?

It's the other way around. They're 1 iso below their previous level +1. So they basically gave away 1 free level to everybody which is pretty significant for characters above 130.
  • Did not know it was this big of iso save. I wished I holded off in level up some characters. Oh well! excellent job D3!
  • As someone who has spent the last year and a half getting every 3* to L110+ and leveling everyone pretty evenly, this change is a kick in the nuts. My competitive edge was that every featured character was usable. Now a couple of DDQs is all it takes to make the featured character usable.
  • love the changes, i suddenly have a legion of level 100 characters icon_e_surprised.gif probably got a little too excited and pumped lthor, steve and doom to 166 which might affect my scaling but 480k ISO well spent icon_cool.gif

I for one welcome our lower ISO overlords.

It's a minor gripe in the grand scheme of things, but now my ISO spreadsheet is useless. It shows how much ISO I spent levelling my characters and how much I need to spend to level them to the cover cap and theoretical maximum. If I update the ISO per level worksheet it will break the ISO spent figures, if I don't the ISO needed figures will be wrong.

It's a conundrum, and I'm tempted to ask them to rollback the change to save me the inconvenience of coming up with a solution. Would that be alright with everyone?

It was a good idea to keep the levels the same. Some people keep intentionally underleveled characters.

Has this update gone into effect for android?

Yes it has. I think the auto pop-up was inactivated. You can go directly to the PlayStore to update it. That's what I've done.

What I'm seeing is all my characters that could gain levels, had all been updated to being 1 ISO shy of leveling up to the next level. I had a GSBW at 143 - I leveled her up to 144 for 1 point. Same with all the rest of them. I leveled up around 20 3* characters 1 level each for around 20 ISO total.

Count me in as someone thrilled with the change, since I never level evenly.

Before and after costs to level some folks--

    Kamala - 76 to 166: 155,690 115,254
    Fury - 75 to 270: 429,034 365,546
    Iron Fist - 153 to 166: 32,494 30,106
    Human Torch - 121 to 166: 98,083 94,883
    Falcon - 90 to 166: 142,105 110,843
    Storm - 67 to 177: 162,345 117,286
    She-Hulk - 45 to 166: 171,817 119,588
    Scarlet Witch - 40 to 114: 63,059 19,455

So there was almost a 70% reduction in levels 40-120 --- and only about a 3% decrease for levels 121 to 166.

I can get behind this in the new weekly boosted universe.

Yea the bulk of the discount was placed in levels 40-120 where the cost per level begins to rise dramatically. New cost for 120 to 166 is 97,044, old cost 99,818, a decrease of only 2.85%. 120 is a clear break point, a place where every 13 cover 3* character on your roster can sit, and be significantly boosted occasionally to be useful.

I suspect what actually happened here is that rather than generating a new "Iso-8 total" for each character based on the level, the Iso-8 total remained the same but they did not allow the character to level (as that would be bad, since many people intentionally keep their characters at certain levels,) so it "capped" at the next level-1.

The nice thing is it's sort of a consolation prize for leveling the character before they made the change. A partial refund, as it were.
