Good character, but how is her purple only slightly better than 2* Storm's blue power?

2* storm is level 94 max and hit's enemy team with just over 1800 while sw hits I think like 2100 at level 166. ****?

I still think she's usefulness because her health is much higher but she should hit harder.
Storm has a third of Wanda's health and doesn't generate her own AP. You can't ignore Wanda...

Its still comparable, instead of hex bolt and the countdown, you get lightning storm which does a little more dmg and gathers AP that helps the WHOLE team.

In the Galactus event, I definitely missed having 5 green since big G couldn't be stunned and Iron Fist was hogging all the purple to fuel Cyclops. That's rather extreme circumstances though.

Fun fact - Her countdown tile can overwrite crit tiles.

Was saving a crit tile for a better opportunity against goons when my Witch stole it from me. Hey!!!

Yeah, she has a knack of overwriting any tile you're about to use...

I swear they programmed that in on purpose, she does it SO MUCH
"Oh time for a red match 5!"
*SWitch blows it up by placing tile*
"That's OK, if I do this and the CPU does this, then I got a nice cascade there"
    *SWitch blows it up again*

I know her powers are based around some luck, but I don't EVER want to take her to a casino...

"Boy I'd really like to get some purple AP"
Countdown matches immediately 3 turns in a row.

I'm looking for some advice as to whether or not this makes sense. I feel that in a vacuum, 535 is the best build, but I'm considering a 355 re-spec now for the following reasons.
    • I use her as a support character for Red Hulk, so I never use her purple or green.
    • While I never use her green, it's 1 AP cheaper than Red Hulk's green so I'm guessing that the AI uses it often in PVP defense
    • Targeting Red Hulk before SW doesn't make sense because of his red and high HP, so the AI rarely uses SW's purple on defense.
    • The additional benefit of one more tile destroyed and the ability to destroy countdown and other special tiles, while meager, provides more benefit than the rare fringe case where SW would actually use her purple.

    Thoughts?

The only thing to consider is that if there are cases where you're using green to try to collect a specific color, it can be a benefit if it's not going to hit a cd tile, assuming the cd tile isn't the color you're aiming for.

That wouldn't be a factor since the only time her green would be used is by the AI during PVP defense. I'm feeling pretty good about 355!

Two things to consider imo -
1 - The AI using Scarlet's green over RHulk's green is a bad trade regardless of 3 or 5 covers.
2 - Huge monster pink explosions happen frequently even if you try to prevent it against the AI. At 5 pink, AI using Scarlet's over RHulk's seems not too bad. I've been royally **** by her pink many times. I HATE fighting her.

RHulk's pink generates 7 ap, so unless you only have 1 green ap when RHulk fires off his pink, you'll have more than 8 ap. I could be wrong here, but doesn't AI prefer to use the more expensive abilities if it has the ap to do so?

Agree 100% on this, but it's a necessary evil because pairing them provides so much offensive firepower. Putting up a defensive team at the end of a climb definitely makes sense.

Since RHulk's pink fires at 7 and Switch's fires at 14, it's going to be pretty rare that arcane incantation matches/cascades enough for her to have a chance to fire her pink.

Right, so, if the AI is going to prefer her green and rarely fire her pink and I'm never going to fire either her pink or green, doesn't it make sense to get the most out of her green?

The AI will prefer RHulk's green since it's more expensive. And since you'll frequently get there with RHulk's purple, you'll rarely wind up in the position of having 8 green AP for any amount of time, so Hex Bolt isn't going to fire.
  • I was 355, but switching to 535, too often I find myself - despite using someone else for purple - using her purple, and at 3 covers the dmg sucks. When boosted? At 5 covers? Stupid dmg.

Her green is so damn bad that theres just no justification for having 5 covers on it. I dont think I've ever used it since getting her to 5/3/5. Its just annoyingly pointless.

That's the other aspect of it, her green just ... yeah her green is just...it ONLY gets used when there is no other option...

Yes, I pair Witch and Jean. I would never bring Hexbolt to 5 just because I fear the AI using green on Hexbolt.

Players don't lose to the AI because the AI plays perfectly. They lose when a freak cascade happens and **** goes south. A huge pink explosion into a well timed Reality Crush may result in a defensive win. The Ai blowing up 2 more tiles with Hex Bolt that isn't even going to be properly targeted? Probably not. You can argue that a bigger Hex Bolt may lead to a bigger cascade.

You misread. It is going to be very very rare that you're going to be sitting at 8 green ap because of the way RHulk's pink works. RHulk's green will fire way way more often than Hex Bolt. Probably less often than a huge pink explosion.

I think you are too worried about how the Ai plays. No matter how they play, players can play around it. Instead you should maximize chances for big damage moves and big "**** you" moves even if the chances are slim. Players can't do much about large cascades.

Even though I am an advocate for 535 Scarlet Witch, I often times feel the same feelings you do. So I built two.

As has been said before, if you could target enemy tiles with it, then yes it has a point and a use. As currently, its just annoying.

Also, it's hurt by Demiurge's insistence on giving nearly every recent character who uses purple an active green. If Scarlet Witch is the only green user on your team then Hex Bolt can help gain 1 or 2 crucial AP to use another ability more quickly. But if you're using her to gather purple AP for Kamala, or GSBW, or Red Hulk, or Jean Grey (whether original recipe or flame-broiled), or Iceman, or X-23, you want to save whatever green you get for their own moves. But if you've paired her with Deadpool or Fury, it totally helps!
