  • So much Mystique lately, guess It'll be time to respec her soon.

Guess I should just be glad it's not Falcon/3*Storm
  • I just got to 198 solely off of seed teams. Same thing happened in the Kingpin one, except that was 185.

Not sure exactly what's going on, but I'm definitely not complaining.

As I understand it, if you start playing as soon as the event starts, you can usually milk the seed teams. How much is partially dependent on your own speed crushing the seeds, as well as how many other players are doing the same and at what speed.

I started playing almost six hours after it started. I'm in Slice 1; it started at 10 am eastern, I joined about 3:30 pm. Last time this happened was more or less the same. The bracket I was in was probably just about empty, but that shouldn't matter much.

Yeah, the Kingpin PVP was weird for me too. Started it really late, about 30 minutes left I think, and got seed teams on the first three nodes when I started, and for seven consecuive matches on the first node I tried (the upper one) and the really strange part was that I got a 2* Cap blue reward eight (!!!) times in a row icon_e_surprised.gif . Not complaining, that was 2000 Iso in eight matches, not a bad average I dare say. I don't expect to see that ever again, could have been a glitch though.

Having played a few matches with him, I've come to the conclusion that he's the best character ever, and works with every possible combination of characters, but especially Moonstone and Yelena, a power trio of epic proportions.

There's a punch line about being sorry that I'm writing in crayon, but I'm not allowed sharp objects, but it doesn't really work in this medium.

Well, if he works with Moonstone, case closed - best character in MPQ according to D3.
  • The most interesting thing in this tournament is the blue vs blue passive. If there's 3 locked tiles and anyone makes a blue match, your Quicksilver provides the 4th locked tile for the AI Quicksilver to blow them up in your face. I find myself actively looking for ways to match these locked team-up tiles to regain parity. Who'd have thought?
  • I just noticed that if your drop the letter F in shift, you kind of get the overall design of Quicksilver. Sorry if it's a little vulgar.

Yeah, it's certainly an interesting design choice. These Blue vs Blue battles are quite interesting. Plus side if your Quicksilver has more Blue covers it ends up being a net gain for you overall.

A new Reigning Champion of 3* Bagperson? Considering his 2/3 of his abilities mirror the original Bagman, I don't think anyone is surprised.

i can't upvote you but I really really want to. Blue Tinykitty is an appropriate name for this event

haven't entered yet but really hoping the loaner has his black power. one that can be useful. had to deal with his blue for my essentials last pve and it suuuuucked. hate the mechanic of his blue. very likely will never play him except for essentials and featured events. if I was strapped for slots I would likely gravitate to him to drop to make room for someone else, anyone else. hopefully he will make more sense with some of the other characters down the pipeline but I hate playing him.

The loaner has the black power Idle Hands.

Quicksilver's blue power is actually OK. With Patch's Berserker Rage up, three blue matches in this PvP gets you a decent pay-out if the opposing QS has his blue power as well (if there are 4 Locked tiles, any blue match triggers yours, if there are 3 Locked Tiles any blue match triggers the computers). Although, it does show how weak the ability is if it is only 'OK' when it is essentially doubled.

Edit: QS's black power is actually quite fun to use. I am even considering using the 1/0/0 loaner over my 0/4/3, as I have no active users of black.

I'm actually having an interesting time w/ a blue vs. blue passive faceoff. I decided to go bold and match my all-color covered Quicksilver w/ my max covered IW, plus xf as a chaperone. I try to load up on blue matches, and when I see a blue match available to make a QS explosion, I quickly fire off IW's blue to add locked tiles to the board, and then claim the explosion to aoe the other team. Xf is batting cleanup making bk matches and saving his aps for an appropriately timed surgical strike. I've been able to SS enemies for 7k+ dmg in pvp, and 10k+ dmg in pve. icon_twisted.gif

qs/iw/xf is a great defense because the threat of an invisible tile prolonging a match, plus constant stream of aoe dmg from blue matching, means it's a pain in the **** to face my defense.

The thing to keep in mind when battling an IW on defense is that the AI doesn't know or care about how many locked tiles are out on the board already. If both players have Blue QS, the player always get's 1st crack on blowing up those locked tiles. Honestly could be an easier win than people would give credit for, though like you said the threat of an invisible tile prolonging the match can be dangerous.

Months ago I lost to a team featuring IW that I should have just walked over due to her invisibility tile getting stuck in the corner and the board giving me really poor matches that wouldn't shuffle.

The IW/QS seems to have some deterrence because I've faced much less attacks than the previous pvp events. but yes, I agree that the AI might not be smart enough to pop the locks ASAP and allow the opposing player the first crack at them.

However, when the combo works, it is truly beautiful. I had a match this morning against a 166 deadpool, 200+ xf team. Got lucky with the board, getting constant blue tiles to match. 4 aoe explosions and a surgical was all it took to finish the match. icon_twisted.gif

I nominate this the least enjoyable PvP event in MPQ history.
