  • Eh, Mystique... Was hoping for Steve Rogers. Seems like in the past couple months PvE has rotated from new characters to weak characters, but no established strong characters to build up the roster.

Well, at least everyone will be taking a break so I might got for top 10, maybe...

Hood fed 4 yellow per turn by 2 goons, Twin Pistols by move 5. Lovely.

First sub should have ended by the time the X-force change goes live...

I have to admit this is a good event to let players try out Quicksilver. It's one of the few where the opponents (Mystique and Doom) are very likely to match blue, so you get a good idea about what his power can do.
    (Likely not much, but still...)
  • Sounds like it'll be push to the progression award and take a nap for a lot of people. I know I need the break.

Was really hoping for a chance at a Rocket and Groot cover from this... too many covers for mystique as it is.

I need another black, so it's nice to see it at the bottom of the price ladder. I'll probably still try to farm the subs for HP, so top 150 should definitely be doable.

yes, that is by far the hardest node of sub 1. and theres nothing you can do to stop it. even if you manage an aggressive recon it only delays it one turn and then you haven't been gathering attack ap but purple. tough node. the way I did it was fast attacks (i.e. wolvie/daken). was still painful and I lost obw (had to choose one to lose) but finished the node. at least jugs isn't being fed red/green. and the goons aren't using green so you can onslaught away too.

a cheap, quick stunner would help a lot there. i.e. spidey or an mbw team up would be nice. longer ones like storm would take too long to accumulate - mbw team up might take too long if the board is team-up dry.

  • Thanks for putting Hood and Jugs on the test Quicksilver node to serve as a lesson in how fragile his whole blue ability is. It's too bad his AP costs are all based on keeping four locked tiles out. I couldn't manage more than two before a twin pistols or a Jugs board shake cleared them.

Came here to say this, that node really showcases how terrible QS is.
  • I just love how they keep releasing a brand new character, then making him the required for the next PvE. Is this the 3rd week in row they've done this? Only the super hardcore players who had Kingpin could get Quicksilver, and now are the only ones who can rank well in this event. Really frustrating as 2-3* transition player. There's no point in playing, since I can't score the 3* cover and don't need any more 2* covers. At least the progression reward is attainable.

As far as I can remember, they do it for every new character release. They will be essential in the next pve. And just because you couldn't get Kingpin, doesn't mean you couldn't get Quicksilver. I didn't have Kingpin and I cruised into a top 150 finish to get QS. Just wait patiently until a new bracket opens up in pve and clear all the nodes that you have access to.

Hell, somwtimes you don't even have to clear all nodes for top 150. I cleared each sub once and I stil got top 150.
  • Looking at my bracket's numbers, it seems like people indeed followed through on their claim that Quicksilver is useless and participated relatively little during Prodigal Sun, so even without Kingpin it should've been easy to get a cover for him if you put in a decent effort.
  • Plus you should be able to get the progression Quicksilver early enough to join in on the essensials. As an added bonus a lot of people are burned out on back to back to back new characters so it should be easier to make top 150 for the 3* this time.
