Supermarket dropped milk from $2.50 to $2.00

I would be happy to spend my Money on the milk if I knew it wouldnt spoil but me being naive was in for a suprise when i went into the fridge and read the label and seen that spoiling was coming. as long as the grocery stor offers some sort of refund dollar for dollar i could care less what ingredients are used in any other food.
and as far as the stuff they use to make my milk better i could care less if other customers are getting it also all that matters is that ill have more and use less for better results0 -
Narkon wrote:Unfortunate for the op, the example of the milk has nothing in common with the covers in the game. The covers in MPQ and a character you build have elements of an investment with benefits you reap, hopefully, for a long time in the future. The milk in the example is for immediate consumption. If anything, it would be more fair to compare the price of milk with the price of health packs. In this case, no one would complain if they bought and used 5 health packs yesterday during a pvp climb and today the devs dropped the price to half.Twombley wrote:Sadly, this milk cost analogy doesn't fit this situation. None of the D3 changes involve reducing the price of a 4* cover, which is what the milk thing would be about.
What D3 have done, analogy-wise, is sell players a porsche, then replace it with a ford engine some time later. How would you feel about that? Bet you'd be asking for a refund, pretty quick.
For the love of the tiniest kitty, the analogy is NOT about the X-Force nerf nor cover buying, as I had already to clarify. It's about the knee jerk reaction to the announcement of decreased ISO costs to level up characters which prompted people to demand refunds for their ISO spent. I know that the nerf absolutely shattered your world but other people can focus on other things, you know.0 -
- How about we just quit making **** analogies for everything just so we can talk down to people?
- I heart the irony of the shear dedication you show in complaining about the complainers.
- Don't really care about the iso change either way, but if you really want to go the route of comparing it to actual goods.. Any reputable merchant would at minimum offer you a 100% refund of the price difference on goods for ~30 days.
- Go look at the general discussion forums for any number of other popular games (wow , d3, lol, etc..) Notice that those forums aren't filled with nerd rage? Do you think that MPQ has just attracted all of the scumbags that play games or that perhaps some of the concerns/gripes that people have been voicing *might* actually be somewhat justified? Not to defend the particularly venomous posts, but please remember that most people tend not to go out of their way to speak up about positive customer experiences.0 -

Jokes aside...have you ever been on a League of Legends announcement page? They announced a sale in January and people were complaining it was a cash grab because it was far enough after Christmas people wouldn't have gift cards anymore. That's tinykitty ****. There's a flood of complaints on every announcement and every set of patch notes. Their literal forums are no better, because they don't properly enforce any type of moderation. It's a bunch of flame baiting and complaining, but in the Wild West.
Blizzard didn't used to be any better. I don't know about now, but around when WoW was first release, it was a toxic wasteland. It arguable started the trend of toxic forums.
Heck, head on over to the Farmville forums, you'll see more than plenty vultures looking to feast on an argument.0 -
For what it's worth, some places *will* give you the sale price on certain high value items that went on sale a certain amount of time after you purchased it.
I don't know why anyone is complaining, you got your enjoyment out of the ISO you've already spent. Didn't it help you improve your roster or make more ISO/HP? Quite frankly, I am thankful they gave us any advance notice at all, so I don't go spending more ISO than I need to.0 -

Um.. is there even a pitchfork mob over the ISO change? Overall I think it's a positive change to the game. If D3 wants to give ISO rebates on leveled characters (or possibly adjust non maxed characters to be the appropriate level for iso invested) then great, if not then who cares? I will take the discount levels going forward and an ease on the ISO burden for new characters. The pitchfork mob seems to be more upset about character changes than R75.
I think one of the worst things D3 did was offer HP rebates on purchased alliance slots after forum pressure. It was great, but it should have been common sense and accompanied the announcement, not pitchfork mobs complaining and then getting their way. Now any change and the pitchforks come out because "I want free stuff" is a powerful motivator, and the mobs believe they can get something for nothing by complaining now because it happened once.0 -

Completely agree with you, it is a positive change. And I believe that Demiurge has gone well above and beyon duty by first refunding alliance HP and more recently, re-running Kamala rewards, which perhaps encourages people to violently demand free stuff whenever they disagree with a developer's choice. (can't complain, though, mine is 4/4/5 now!) Oh, and while there was not a big organised mob (in account of the anti-X-Force nerf mob being much more prevalent, there were several individuals in that thread stating that they expect/will demand ISO refunds.- Go look at the general discussion forums for any number of other popular games (wow , d3, lol, etc..) I take you've never been in a Magic: The Gathering forum, have you?0 -

Wonko33 wrote:Hey OP, tell us when the store clerk follows you to your car, swaps the milk you purchased for a gallon of water. When you complain he'll ask you if you read the store policy and that drinking water is better for the overall future health of the country, then we'll talk analogies that make sense.
Not to mention that U.S. agri-business is massively subsidized by the state (i.e. you), so who knows what the real cost of a gallon of milk is (there are people who know, I'm not saying there are not)
"The natural resources used to produce even minimal amounts of animal products are staggering—1,000 gallons of water to produce 1 gallon of milk." (http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/sav ... e_20141109)
~~~
For a hamburger, I've heard amazing figures for the real cost, when you account for all the water that's required for the feed for the cows that go into making a hamburger. The article also comments, "A person who is vegan will save 1,100 gallons of water, 20 pounds CO2 equivalent, 30 square feet of forested land, 45 pounds of grain and one sentient animal’s life1 every day." I'm not vegan, but that sounds like a helluva lot of resources...
But anyways.. back to MPQ.0 -
I've bought almost $500 in milk over the past 160+ days. My milk now tastes like **** and has 0 nutritional value.
About to give up on Milk.0 -
Beginning to wonder if I'm HP intolerant...
GuntherBlobel wrote:So true! The more the Devs do to compensate players after changes, the more outrage we will see on the Forum about any change (like 10-pack rewards in the Gauntlet). I'm not saying it's a bad thing to compensate players. I just hope the Devs have a thick skin and can distinguish the constructive criticism from the inflated outrage, so that they keep doing the best thing for the game and its players.
So... explain Marvel Heroes?
They regularly reward the entire community with a little extra if for whatever reason 'they screwed up', but the community is friendly and constructive and the worst you typically see are a few people calling out to the community managers stating "Hey guys, you promised X event, but it's broken. Fix it, please?" And then those guys post back "Yes. We can confirm it's broken. Our engineers are working on it. As compensation we'll run X event tomorrow and the day after as well." Or "Hey guys; I'm stuck with ingredients Y & Z from event X, but the crafter no longer has the recipe to make the final reward item." to which the common response is: "Since people are still stuck with ingredients Y & Z, we're reintroducing the recipe to the crafter for the next 2 weeks."
They also have a very curteous 14 day price-protection in place if you happened to purchase something that goes on sale shortly after. Nobody ever complains about sales in that community.
No, the simple fact is that for the longest time D3P/Demiurge's customer service consisted of flipping the bird at everyone and that left a LOT of spite and a LOT of sentiment of having to 'stick it to the man' in the community. The root cause for any increase in levels of outrage that could flow forth from an increased willingness to offer decent compensation, would still be found with D3P/Demiurge itself.0
