All of these changes should let us relevel and respec chars.

I don't mind the character changes! I do mind the fact that I've sold tons of 3* covers from DDQ and now I have to respec a bunch of 3*s. No, I don't want to sell my characters I just want to respec and re-level my characters to work well together and have synergy.
How hard would it be to allow players to sell off or underlevel characters. I'd even pay Iso for the privilege!

I don't know about releveling but a thousand votes for "when a character is changed, unlimited free respecs (only up to the amount of covers you have) for a month"0
-
I've had the same thought - I can overcome the nerfs, but agreed it does sorta make me rethink how I've got them specced.0
-
Agreed, I was always of the mindset that if one is finally able to get 13 covers for a character, they should be able to respec them to whatever they want (if only to experiment). You could maybe tack on a 100HP Respec charge each time, I'd be OK with that, but once we've gotten the "required" number of covers, that should be enough.0
-
I've argued for a "unlevel" button (at a 10% cost to the player!) forever, it's never going to happen.
Respec is harder, tough to prove you ever had the other covers.0 -
Here is a crazy idea... why not let people keep 15 covers but only apply 13 at a time. Then no one loses on the player side when the game is "re-balanced" and respec doesn't -- necessarily -- render a character useless.
I'm not even going into balance. Just saying, I've sold countless covers and gotten ISO for them, but never would have sold all of them if I could have kept 5 for each color, and only applied 13 at a time.
If someone can tell me how that would not be an extremely reasonable compromise I'm open to hearing it.0 -

D3 can track when tokens are cashed, etc.
I am not a programmer but my guess is that they know exactly what covers every one of us has ever pulled and/or bought.0 -

IIRC in Marvel Heroes all skills of a character are removed when a char is changed and you can redistribute them at will. It would be cool if they could implement something similar here.0 -
Absolutly yes, they should let us reconfigure the char. covers, I paid for something and now that something was changed by D3, so I do not have what I paid for anymore, let us fix are characters D3 after nurfing, please.
thx0 -

This 100x, even if it was only to allow a partial respec, like shuffling 2-3 of the covers would help lessen the sting immensely0 -
This. I worked really hard for my cards, and I don't want to throw it all out, I just want the opportunity to do whatever I can to get something useful out of what I put in.0

I like this and would support this fully - would there be a cost to re-spec the character or a cool-down period after re-spec where that character is unusable? Maybe all you can do is shift one power up or down per character per day? What would prevent a user (and you know it would be gamed like this) from setting up a character in an offensive layout, doing a shield hop and re-specing the character back to a defensive layout once shields were up?0 -

How many characters would that even apply to? I can think of basically Patch and that's it. Maybe Groot. Most characters have a "best" build and a system of stored covers to respec would just mean any changes you can change your build. Or you can see if you like something and then go back. I would personally not mind having characters at 5/5/5 and then sliders you set that add to 13 to use the build you want today. Add some variety.0 -
At least we can change powers now, don't forget it used to be once you hit 13 covers the only way to "respec" was to sell and start over.0

I can see Patch, Hulk (5/3/5 offense, 5/5/3 defense), Sentry (5/3/5 offense, 5/5/3 defense), CMags (3/5/5 offense, 5/5/3(?) defense), XFW (5/5/3 offense, 3/5/5 defense), Gamora (5/5/3 offense, 3/5/5 defense)... hades, the list could probably go on for a while with characters that have distinct offensive and defensive builds. Blade, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, 3* Carol Danvers, Kamala Khan...
Obviously, your mileage may vary. One of the problems with the game right now is that there are a lot of people playing it that have figured out how to game the system. Trying to anticipate and lock out that gaming of the system is what'll prevent the sort of thing we're seeing right now in the uproar over (and the need for) the 4* nerfs.0 -
I like the points raised regarding my idea.
By keeping the cover only for the opportunity to re-spec later you would not be selling for ISO (only other option, or building a second), so my though is you will have already "paid" to be able to respec by keeping 2 covers "just in case". They would have to be assigned to that character so you couldn't go change your mind to build a second character.
I think a limit/cool down of 24 hrs between re-spec of a character whi is played in game would be reasonable and should curb the sort of abuse alluded to in prior comments/posts.

It just remember me when the best ability in the game, the blue skill of Magneto 3 stars, became his worst ability, the current yellow. I was winfinite matches with almost no damage before and after the nerf he was just useless because he was 5/1/2.
I hope the Devs will change that.0 -

It wouldn't matter. Your defensive team is the last team you played with, how you played with them (their level and spec).0 -

I've never seen it go down to level and spec - is that from the Devs or something you've seen personally?
It's always been that way. That's why when you retaliate against people, it isn't always the same as when you find them again in your queue.0 -
A new token,"Respec-(Character)," would fix this. Just send 2 out to all players who have 13 covers in the character per character. Have it last for as long as the increased sell back period. Being a token would prevent some way of exploiting it to recruit another character to sell back and doesn't effect the value of selling it you decide to. Don't know if they tried testing something like this but that's all it would take. For those with less than 13 covers, it could become problematic as certain combination of covers affect max levels and would create a potential ISO loss.0
