  • Tbh, I just don't care anymore. I have a large roster and simply skip chars I don't want. I think D3 ripped me off selling me 4hor and then nerfing her.
    I did buy prof x, mostly because I was curious on his powers and I'm a fan. His powerlevel is a bit disappointing and random and considering that xf is now the only 4* worth his salt I'm skipping Kingpin.

    I came close to buying Prof X, since I like buying characters and supporting games I like.

    Then I remembered how they gutted 4Thor, and decided to vote with my wallet.

    As a free player I cant complain about much as far as changes go. Most either make little to no difference or they benefit the game developers bank account. I have yet to see a change in the last 368 days that has improved my gaming experience EXCEPT the addition of DPD. As a consumer in general and as an a competitive athlete both, I can say without question, it is unfair to change the rules midstream without majority consent of all participants involved. I guess I am saying that I am not offended by the changes but by the idea of the devs thinking they have the right to charge for one thing and constantly change what that thing is. I paid for a Porche, dont change it into a fuel-efficient mid-compact in the name of equality.

    Just to settle this down; nobody was lied to. The statement that everyone's up in a tizzy about can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19954&p=260747#p260747

    It says, and I quote;

    The devs should think about returning to the one new character every two weeks model which seemed to be working before the Anniversary ignited this flood of new characters.

    Definitely! We will be returning immediately to the usual pace of one new character approximately every two weeks. After Gamora we are now back to the "normal" schedule. The extra characters added in recent weeks was really a perfect storm of our Anniversary week and the debut of Thor (Goddess of Thunder) on top of our usual schedule.

    You'll see one more new character arriving a few weeks from now and that character will be the last one of the year. We didn't anticipate that some players would feel overwhelmed or experience "burn out" with the extra characters and we're sorry for that. We'll be factoring this knowledge into our scheduling as we move forward.

    Notice the quotations on the word normal? That implies it's the "regular", but not always going to be the case.

    Then he goes on to explain that they didn't anticipate the affects of multiple characters releases in a short time span, and said they would take that information into account going forward. I'd say it happening once in a year is pretty good consideration.

    It's actually twice in a few months. We have a long way to go before knowing if it will be only once in a year.

    Other than right now, when else has it happened, since the original happening (Anniversary Week)? But yes, that was in December so it's been quarter of a year, for some reason I thought we were a lot closer to Anniversary Week than we are - that doesn't really distract from my primary point, however.

    Anniversary week was October.

    And I think the devs won't run this gauntlet of new char PVE with another new char PVE in succession anytime soon again if they have a choice.
    If Marvel nudges them to release certain characters, which is a definite possibility, then, eh.
    Not much they can do, except maybe cancel PVEs for other planned chars they had scheduled way ahead of time.

    I still think they should have postponed another char when they introduced Blade in October on short notice (because, Halloween came up surprisingly on Oct 31...) and maybe they should have postponed Prof X and ran Kingpin at this time instead. But without knowing the inner workings it's hard to know if it's even possible to shuffle like that.
