Okay: quick experiment:
In the current (loki) tournament I plan on tanking. I accidentally put in my lvl. 106 Loki with my lvl 1 jug and lvl 1 hawkeye. I yielded because I wanted to tank with the standard loki instead. I put in the standard loki, beat the seed team, then retreated and yielded from the next fight. If anyone encounters me on the ladder, is the team you saw the lvl 106 loki, or the lvl 15 loki?

Starting with a tank team and yeilded without even playing the round and I still have not been hit yet.

Yup, can confirm this is working for me as well. Win a round with tank team, and let the tanking begin, -83 points so far .

Guess I will have to do that tanking then. I tried earlier while at work, every 3rd opponent was russnout with basically max villains. I work really hard but I cant get anywhere when every single person it gives me had max or close to max villains. Getting 50 points for the token is actually difficult.

He was also one of the people the game kept throwing at me. My lvl 15 villain just aint good enough for that.

Don't think this method is possible anymore. You only get one shot so when you retreat there is no option to yield and there is a new opponent in the reticle

Edit - Unless I'm doing something wrong

Running an experiment with this mags round

I kept one of the seed matchups queued up, a 15 mag/2 m.storm/2 Hawkeye

Then worked up to around 175 (was actually ranked first at this point, my mags is maxed out with covers)

Went back to the seed team still queued up and beat them with 15 Loki/6 Thor/1 iron man

Will let you guys know what happens

EDIT - yeah I got wacked real fast, 2 attacks for -63

Btw my original team Was a 105 mag/102 rag/94 hood with max covers

I was beat with 15 mag/50 iron man 35/51 hulk

So it's likely working...I have the same name as my gamer tag...can anyone confirm the team they see?

An app update went live after many of these posts were made. When LR started this morning, the three try system was still in place. Now it is gone.

Had to dig to page 2 just to find this thread. Looks like no one cares anymore. Attempted my first LR of the day, competition was zzzzzz. Landed Diabolic pretty easily. Looking at top10, bunch of Wolvie/obw with low level hoods. Perhaps I should've attempted to finish off my yellow instead. Oh well.

It did seem lax, I was in 1st for almost the entire thing and shielded at 500 with a 12 point lead and not enough time to complete final a match before round end. I expected 2nd had me queued up to hit me and he did but apparently I slipped into third somehow, the server still said first when the tourney ended. I shielded a -44 from some 104 pointer the second it was up so it was worth it. Only got attacked 5 times total, 2 were fails. 5th Blue 2nd Black No yellow sigh..

Still not bad for using a lvl 30 hood. The 102 Patch probably scared people away, hes slow to take down with no boosts.

Yeah, caught me out earlier (50/100/200 rather than 25/50/100 that it costs for other LRs)

I got Top 8 in a hood round without using boosts? Wonder how many were even playing. I was just there for ISO as I don't want to stress on lr anymore now that all I need is a single yellow hood to finish the villains. The covers supplement my shield usage for the punisher PvP. I only have a 30+ point lead so I might have to att/shield once or twice more. Wish I got one of those 600-700 brackets I mean, it usually just ends up "did I get another person willing to push" and then "am I willing to fight them for it."

I think the boost nerf and the heavy grind/frustration with the pve Arr why its nit active. Also, to be honest I only participated in one or two rounds...the drive with no rag, doom kinda sucking, magneto getting nerfed, Loki sucking, and hood being a support character isn't there to do lr as hard as before. I mean I have all but that yellow cover but the drive is gone for others not in my position.

Do you think it's really less competitive, or just the fact that nobody is using boosts and Thorverine that's driving the point totals down? A lot of people are now spending twice as long to complete fights, so that's naturally going to cause scores to be lower overall.
