1029 for top 30 in my bracket. I'm assuming this is people cramming in their points before 4Thor gets beaten, but my lord.

1000 is not even top 50! Crazy bracket. Even before shield timers did not see this.

I could theoretically get 4* covers I need, but they're just not worth the headache of crossing 1000, especially since the cooldown times mean I can only really do it on certain Sunday ones. So I dont bother shielding at all.

1000 is not that difficult to cross with your roster. You must have to plan ahead a little, for the timing of shields. I can typically reach 1k with 2 - 3 shields....the remaining shields are only meant to keep my score steady until end of pvp.

300 - 450 HP for a 4* cover of your choice is quite worth kr, imho. My GT was acquired mainly through progression reward since I had terrible luck with 4* tokens pull.

It helps if you have a decently levelled featured character.

And of course, your PVP invisible matchscore for who the game pairs you against for matches. I've been slacking in PVP for a while and this is the first one that I have gone for 1000 progression. I received one X-Force/4-Thor fight around the mid-600 mark, and any others did not start showing up until the 800s (still interspersed with X-Force + 3-star opponents at first). All well and good, but the key is that I did not receive attacks during my two climbs. Any attacks were in the 200 range and during the 2 shields I used at 650 and 1000 respectively.

Not sure if this is consistent with what high-level play typically looks like or if I was being put in favorable match-ups.

I started getting hit with 270s before I crossed 500, and my team is Professor X + 166s, including a 5/5/3 X-Force (was using X-Force/Deadpool). After 600, every time I won a match, I'd come out of it having been hit. There was also one guy getting into a really stupid retaliation war with me who kept hitting me for 15 and I'd hit him for 30. Those can be helpful, but it wasn't in this case, because I needed more than 15 points a win. I eventually got fed up, decided to settle for a score in the mid-600s, and retaliated against that guy with one minute left out of pure spite.

After that I decided it was time to tank my MMR down and I spent some time doing that in the Hot Shot pvp. I expect to see 270s, but if that's all I'm seeing when I'm barely in the top 100, it's ridiculous.

    Agreed.
