HP + ISO Sale...
... for those who are still willing to throw some $$ on the game.
Buy them now and wait three weeks, where the bonus HP/ISO will then be taken back from your accounts because they were giving out too much and a sudden nerf is needed*.
*I'm just kidding guys the forums have been really dark the past few days and understandably so.
Keep matching those gems

A week ago I would have been all over this sale. Like so many others, I've been anxiously waiting for it. But now that it's here, and in lieu of all that's happened recently, I feel dirty and, frankly, stupid for even considering buying something.0
-
I'll pass. I used to purchase 2 Starks per sale to cover shields, roster slots, and the occasional cover.
But since D3 decided that shield hopping was "Unfun", i use barely any HP on shields anymore.
I also used to keep duplicates of almost every 3* & 4*. My roster reached 83 slots right around the time that D3 started their relentless character release schedule. So now i'm slowly selling off my duplicates to make room for the (sometimes) sloppily released character that gets thrown out there every 2 weeks.
Since D3 has instituted these changes, i really haven't spent anything on this game...and i've been able to keep up just fine.
Why would i want to spend $ to support a game that has such little respect for it's longest playing members?
No hate to anyone that does choose to take advantage of the sale. Just telling my story.
easy...marc0 -
The really skeevy thing is that they know only a small fraction of players visit the forum, and there have been no in-game announcements on the upcoming changes to the characters. Sounds like a good time to buy some 4thor or Iron Fist covers, right? You can sell them for hp next week!0
-
Makes sense...ISO and HP sale right now is sorta like getting a sympathy card from some one after they kicked you right square in the junk a week earlier.0
-
I lol'd at the sale screen when it came up. Sale launched right after everyone on here said "never spending $ on this game again". Coincidence? They're testing you.0

Test passed, I'm not buying anything.
I had patiently waited for a sale, my 3/1/1 4hor needed that Stark Salary to become competitive. My X-force I've managed to get to 250 without paying anything. I'd sworn off buying anything after the True Healing changes, so far so good. All I needed was a sale, and I'd have the best two characters complete! A month ago I would have dropped $100 on this sale, so they lost that much at least.
They want you to know: there is no best, there should be no best, and whatever is the "best 4*" will be taken to 3* level soon enough - so why should I anyone anything for a 4*? Every digital purchase is fool's gold, but buying any 4* would simply be foolish at this point. Shoot, if I -wanted- to buy Fury covers I couldn't. I hit one year played in a few days and I'm still sitting at 2/0/1...only recently having pulled that one purple.
They are making it very obvious that 4* transition is nearly impossible to obtain without buying it - but why not make it "hard" and "time consuming" rather than "must be purchased"? There needs to be another way to get 4*'s if they want people to be able to buy them - but again, I think it would be foolish to buy any at this point, since they aren't supposed to be much better than 3*'s there isn't any reason to chase them. No reason to buy, and eliminate your worries by trying to obtain them - not worth the time, effort, or money since they want you to compete with your more easily obtained 3* roster.0 -
I'm well done, this is a joke!0

Nope, they need to get money from the 90% of suckers that don't know these changes are coming. Get those last IF/GT covers purchased now, so they can have pennies on the dollars in a few days!
Terrible. This sale should come with an asterisk and a qualifier noting the changes, rather than taking advantage of people who don't know the change is happening.0 -
Looks like their playtester let an HP sale get through again. These sales are clearly broken, causing infinite loops of overpowered/nerfed, and leading to unfun situations for players. What a stinker that guy is!0
-
... and the tone-deaf irony just keeps on comin'...0
-
Went ahead and got a loony for a heroic 10 pack just cause I haven't opened one since last season.
10 **** 2 stars.... I'm an idiot for supporting this ****0 -
Would've been nice for them to tell the player base:
HP and ISO sale going on now, BUT just an FYI -> These are the changes that will be coming to the characters. So use those HPs wisely.
Theres so many people that are gonna buy HP and then dump it on their 4Thor or IF just cause they are really strong, and then get a huge middle finger in couple days with a nerf and a "Here you go, here's 100HP for your character now that you spent 10000HP on them "0 -
Had to laugh when the sale message popped up.
I promised I'd never spend any more real money on this game a few months ago and I'm sticking to it.0 -
Love how they announce the sale in game without announcing the nerfs in game.
This seems like a ploy to trick the non forum goers into buying Thor and Iron Fist covers before they find out that they've both been nerfed.
Very very very sneaky.
Veeerrrrry sneaky.
Although, it is easy ground for disputing a claim on the grounds of deceitful advertisement.0 -
They introduce sales when there are new 4*s released...
Enough have been said otherwise.
People want to get refunded, they don't want sales.0 -
I've spent nearly 200$ on the game but never had bought a 4* cover (Told myself id take out the challenge from the game)
I did get covers for vaulted 3*s that actually changed my gaming experience. I was waiting for this sale to drop another 100 (or 2) to get stark salaries and continue character development and shields. With the changes that came, I doubt ill be putting in another penny in the game0 -
If it has not already been pointed out, mpq was nice enough to announce the nerfs before the sale. They could have done it in the opposite order if they were genuinely trying to cash grab people.
In reality, when you look at mpq ' s history, they are data driven. This means they make decisions based on data. The more people that obtain covers and use combos like winfinite over time leads to sufficient data to make a change. This gives the appearance, especially to high end players, that mpq knows about problems, but waits to milk it for money. In reality, they are just mostly slow to change because they are data driven.
Take fist for example, they waited until after an event he was not featured in to make sure the overwhelming data was correct, before nerfing him.
You can question if relying on data is the best way to make decisions, especially when it seems obvious to us players like sentry, winfinite, fist purple, etc., but mpq is not trying to mislead people.
I think the main reason ppl feel this way is because we feel we don't get sufficient value for our money on those changes. That I agree with, and I feel that is something worth genuinely fighting for.0 -

They've only announced the nerfs on the forums. The vast majority of mpq players don't read these forums and won't be aware of any incoming changes and could easily waste money on a vthor cover or two only to find what they have bought in good faith has changed on the 23rd.0
