  • I think we should do alliance placement in PVE events over the course of the PVP season.
Like Donkey said in his original post - it's gonna take A LOT for people to NOT be OK. basically, you need to be in the bottom 5 of the alliance in both pve and pvp to be in danger of being cut. i really dont think that applies to anyone at this point.

also - something not posted. we understand real life issues come up. if you let us know that you're unavailable to play, we get it. you won't be kicked if you tell us you're going on vacation and have no access to the game. we're not heartless. icon_e_smile.gif

Good to have the rules out there, though I'm sure we'll still need to fill the chat with them when you guys are on the public alliance recruit kicks. icon_e_smile.gif

As the Doc says below, we are taking this cruise round the world, with the cabal of commanders we have we can't go wrong.

  • Excited for this season in both pve and pvp! Glad to be aboard! Shout out to anamosity for the epic signature!!

I think it all sounds good. You never know where an alliance will be a few seasons in the future. It grows as the members grow and change, but this sounds like a good plan for now.

I really like this alliance would like to stick with it for a long time. We earn well, but no one has to forgo real life to do it. If we can maintain that balance (not easy), I'm on board for a nice long cruise. icon_e_smile.gif

How does the PvE "season" scores work? Do you find the average of the placements of the PvEs over the season, or do you add up our scores for each PvE and then rank us based on that at the end of the season?

Truthfully, we'll have to see which provides a more accurate measurement of player performance. The initial thought was to use the average placement across all the PvE events, eg 8th, 4th, 12th averages to 8. We might have to weigh in additional factors like average percent of max progression as well. When we start to look at it, player roster changes may also throw a monkey wrench into the works. It'll be a work in progress, but I know everything possible will be done to ensure the measurements are fair and in the player's favor.

    Snick, any thoughts on this?

We reviewed the requirements over the last couple of days trying to make sure that we weren't asking too much or too little one way or the other. I applied the requirements with our last 2 seasons as LL2 (adjusting for when people let us know about absences) (using the average of final PVE rank among the alliance) and no one here ever came close to not meeting this benchmark. In the couple of instances it might have come up the trend was so obvious that the issue was addressed after only a few events. SnickerDog nails it--it would take A LOT.

I updated the post with this - also updated the rules to call out enough simulator work to get 4000 PVP minimum for the season to get the 10-pack reward.

Happy to be aboard. My last alliance was all about PVP (top 110-125), good but no covers.
Here i can get extra PVE covers. Thanks for the minimum rules, will try my best.
LOVE the general tone of this BOAT.

Said it in the ingame chat, but I'll repeat it here:

Lost a lot of motivation for the game lately (pretty much unrelated to the nerfs, since I don't own 4Thor etc... and MNMags isn't too big a hit) and found myself grinding for the alliance only. I have end of year exams looming, so it seems like a good time to take it easier.

Good luck everyone with the Season, as well as the current PvE! I know you'll place top50 at the very least. icon_e_smile.gif

Sad to see you go, X, but we understand. If you feel like stepping back into the game later, look us up. Until then, good luck with your exams - you need that more than **** token drops and disappointing ISO payouts.

I have to work this weekend and do a 10 hour shift on monday (my slice runt until early tuesday) so this event is a dud for me, I'll probably do the pvp stuff but you might want to line up a merc for me. I will not reach 200%, for sure.
  • Do you need a merc. I have over 90k and my event end in an hour. I had more time then I thought

    Members of The Love Boat,

Time for me to leave the boat, a look for new adventures
I really enjoyed sailing with you, and together we did some great things and had some great discussions ( icon_lol.gif)
United you are strong guys, never forget it, and with worthy and wise commanders, you will reach new peaks.

Have a nice ride, and please take care of my little Vicky icon_e_wink.gif

Well, **** happens. However it feels really bad to be a huge part of why we lost a 4* star cover, so I feel I can't stay. I'll probably not do any allience at all until they fix this nonsense with mercs. It's insane that an allience that never finishes under top 15 can be so outdone by mercs, such a terrible system. In hindsight should have just left myself instead of waiting to be kicked, not fair on the commanders. But hindsight 20-20 and all that.

    Take care guys.

At this point, I'm done with the grind. Period. We all left that other place because we hated the grind, and here we are right back in the stinking middle of it. Right now I either want to convert to a true casual alliance - meaning grouped together only to share whatever alliance rewards we get - or drop out and either play solo or join up with some random batch of noobs somewhere. This game has become a burden, not a blessing.

My thoughts would be that we go with the 150% pve as a target (maybe even drop it to 100%, duck and cover when 4* show up) and season 10 pack on pvp.

I think I generally hit that going for essentials only and the trivial ones on the bus to work, on the bus home and before bed. So it seems fairly casual but there are numbers in place so no one feels mad at anyone or feels bad for not achieving enough "for the team". The structure allows for the fun. If there are expectations in place without the added "keep grinding after minimums no matter what" then it could be a safe place to actually have fun again.

That way King can be less worried about the wall, Doc can finish her book, weathervane can return from vacation as quietly do his thing. The fact that space left out of guilt is terrible, he gave warning, he's done a lot for the team and hopefully this all settles out to something he wants to come back to. I'm here because I like the group, without the group I'd probably just play DDQ on the bus and be done with it, so I hope we can figure it out.

I've dropped out, too. I think maybe I'll go solo or find a super-casual alliance. I loved chatting with you guys. You were great. I'll really miss that.

I was in a casual alliance for 10 months, bit you do miss out on a little bit. the first two pve with you giys got me more covers and iso than i could have imagined

I still think 51st for a 4* is awesome, and i will get way more use out of getting daredevil up to 5 red than having profx with 2 pinks instead of 1.

My vote is somewhere in between. Lets push a little, but not 200%. A couple of us (like me) with good rosters and free time will help carry us. All i want is daily players who contribute. Do i need top 50 every time? No. But top 100 would be great and top 250 would be cool and still get me hp for roster slots
