ZootSax wrote:i doubt it means anything, but four of the five nodes today are identical to the February 20 DDQ. I only noticed because the first two nodes seemed really familiar. Maybe a pattern will emerge, but who knows?
The devs mentioned in a different thread that they initially envisioned a 7 day rotation, but created 3 more sets of missions to have 2 sets of 5 for a 10 day rotation, which keeps the missions from falling on the same day of the week each time.
The unverified rumor of stockpiled taco tokens being usable an extra rotation later makes sense. There were reports of R&G tokens not being equivalent when that event ran back to back (4* Thor release), but most events tokens changing to new odds when the event comes back around. Others voiced concern that the amount of token pages that would build up for serious hoarders would become unwieldy, so some sort of eventual token updates were expected. So if they have two similar but different 5 day events running A-B-A-B etc, it is very reasonable to expect unopened tokens to be good for the new set after a 5 day stockpile period.
I will have to re-evaluate my "open tacos immediately" strategy now.0 -
I took the most damage in DDQ today. Using the same team of 166 Hulk/166 Spidey/145 LThor. Muscle strikes tiles plus Teisatsu death attack tiles equals angry Hulk. Muscles strike tiles plus matching Gorgon's Awaken the Hand tiles equals very angry Hulk. Debilitating slash equals dead Hulk. I actually had to use Spidey's heal and two team-ups (Sniper Rifle and Adamantium Slash) to survive.0

Any advice on how to finish "The Big Enchilada" for today's DDQ with two star heroes? My normal team consists of MNMags/MNThor/Storm or OBW/Daken/Ares, these teams are usually all I need to consistently wipe out these nodes. Today's DDQ is unusually difficult and I don't want to miss out on a Lazy Daken cover. I have a fully covered but under leveled Blade at Level 112 and an adequately covered 2/3/3 Grocket at Level 103.
Thoughts? Today's last node is maddening!0 -

My alt account completed it with mnmags, cstorm and obw, if that helps.0 -

MN Mags/OBW/Classic Storm All Lv94
Round 1 & 3
concentrate on matching Blue Purple Black. OBW's Espionage gives you additional damage.
You may need to use Anti-Gravity Device if you can't get all the countdown tiles off the board. Try your best not to take these hits.
Lightning Strike and Magnetic Flux can be used too to help knock down some high level goons and if lucky get you some cascades.
You should have every power full or close to full when the last goon goes down
Make sure you at least have a Polarity shift fully ready to launch, so you can fill Wind Storm .
Round 2 & 4
character 1 - Hit with Wind Storm (stunned 4 turns)
Switch to character 2- hit with Polarity Shift, try to make at least 1 5 Blue match for the bonus.
Switch to character 3- hit with the just recharged Wind Storm (Now stunned for 4 turns)
If character 2 is still alive hit with Lightning Strike and Polarity Shift. That should end them
Now there are 2 stunned enemies that should be at about 1/4 health max. You should be able to take them out with OBW's Espionage bonus matches before stuns wear off, or whatever powers you have ready to go.
I've done this successfully every DDQ but one. That was the first time I hit the Muscle/ Ninja goons. I ran out of time and heath packs. It worked for me today though.
Hope this helps.0 -
Thank you guys. I will give this a shot later today. Your advice is appreciated!0

I would add to Mike h comment that you should try to end the goon nodes (1&3) with an activated ability. This means you start round 2&4 with it being your turn. This avoids getting hit by any powers as soon as the new group comes up. Got hit in enemy of the state survival nodes with an adamantium slash a few times as soon as wolverine jumped in...0

Looks like I'm not going to be able to get Laken. Stormneto +obw wipe by wave 2 due to the boosted attack tiles knocking down most of their health. Furthest I got was with 2* Cap+Cyclops+MnMags though limping in with a few hundred health into the last wave didn't help either. So frigging frustrated...
Update: 2 more attempts with stormneto & obw iso boosted failed by wave 2. you win ddq.0 -
Unfortunately i cant try out my 2* team since i've already completed it. Just some thoughts to your situation:
Do you have Ms Marvel with 5 yellow? Those team up tiles can overwrite special tiles.
Cstorm to stun the Turntosmoke goons? If you do, the goon that's stunned wont drop attack tiles when they go down. You can also use Cap to stun them before dropping them.
Use Mnmags Polarity shift to eliminate attack tiles with Match 4s
Collect green for Cstorm ability to try and eliminate attack tiles.
MHawkeye for speed shot to eliminate opponents quickly i.e. Characters.0 -

Thanks for the advice as my strategy of attempting to collect AP during wave 1 using Stormento + OBW didn't work out like I had hoped plus it didn't help when I knocked down the health of the ninjas with match damage to the range where a Windstorm would outright down them as I focused too much on trying to control all the countdowns.
What also didn't help is when I did have enough AP for cStorm lightning it would always fail to clear several countdown tiles, even if I had enough to fire it off twice!
The one time I tried using mHawkeye, his speed shot tiles were all bunched together and when the first one went off it caused a cascade that matched them away.
It seems like every attempt had some random thing that'd cause everything to go downhill, like when a Threaten tile resolved at the very top the next tile that dropped caused a match to one-shot cStorm.
After 7 failed attempts, I figured it was time to give up as I was out of health packs and time.0 -
This Muscle/ninja goon combo is the worst pairing in all of the daily survival nodes. Yesterday I got some luck eliminating the drop tiles.0

I reliably beat the last node in DDP with 2*'s Thor, Torch, and Widow. Spamming Anti-Gravity Device on the goon waves, finishing those waves with an ability, hording ap- works wonders. You should be able to then spam attack abilities just fine on the villian nodes.0

GoT, panther and sentry again as final wave to get doom. got totally wiped out again first time through. they had so much mana built up and just wrecked me. looking forward to new round of 5 tomorrow. they have to be getting close to some of the guys i really want that top cover for.0

For the last node I always go with BP, Patch and OBW.
Wave 1 (goons) - Eliminate CD tiles, focus down any goon with low CD duration or high strength and build up AP. Use OBW blue and purple to help build up AP and use BP yellow for extra damage.
Wave 2 (enemies) - When it is the enemies' turn, use a couple abilities to take them out fast.
Wave 3 (goons) - Match the enemy strike tiles from Patch green (if used in wave 2) and copy strategy from first wave.
Wave 4 (enemies) - By the time the 4th wave hits, Patch and BP usually have 20-30 AP and finish the game in 2 turn.0 -

Fifteen down, twenty to go! (For now...)
Edit because I lost a week...0 -
Thus far, the team that has reliably been getting me a comfortable win has been a fully covered Cap (3/5/5), Hood (5/5/3) and Cyclops (1/4/3).
First wave - collect as much red, yellow, blue and black AP (in that order). Use Cap's red to knock the last goon down and start the next wave
Second wave - use Cap's Red and Blue abilities, Cyclops Black if there's enough red on the board after throwing down Cap's Red, and/or Hood's Intimidation and if there's enough yellow --> Twin Pistols to end the round
Repeat for wave 3 and 4.
Another team i used was Patch, Daken and Blade. Worked for a few DDQ final nodes but only if i can get Blade's attack tiles down at max strength.
Admittedly these are not transition teams but the Cap, Hood, Cyclops team has been pretty reliable so far.0 -
I've not looked at the spoilers before going in because I'm too impatient and enjoy surprises anyway.
So far for the final survival node I've gone with all 2* teams except yesterday when I took my half-covered, lvl 103 Fury/Dino/Electra out for walkies and barely made it out alive. FURY VS FURY was funny.
Today was back to 2*Thor, Cstorm, and a lvl80 mnMags instead of OBW. Stormneto really does make everything trivial. I went in unboosted, got unlucky/inattentive and took a goon hit once, but otherwise none of the 2 waves of heroes managed to make a move and I had so much ap I didn't know what to do with it at the end.
Poor 4Thor got a taste of her own medicine... permastunned from start to end.0 -
I've been consistently using Capt. Marvel (3*)/OBW/MNThor, though Ms. Marvel (2*) would also work for a 2* only group.
Everyone's posted strategy has been sound, but I think a favorable board can make or break you as well. A big key for today's final wave was to leave the Don for last in Wave 3 - he only has one ability (Trap) that actively causes damage, and it seems like he rarely uses it. I just whittled him away with matches while I racked up AP and then finished him with a Mjolnir's Might. I was then able to call about three more of those on GT, making some yellow matches along the way. When she dipped below 1100, I used COTS with BP as the target (which downed GT). Again, because I kept the Don alive for so long, I had enough Thunder Strike BP into oblivion, and use Capt. Marvel's stun to keep Sentry at bay. Even without her stun, Ms. Marvel's Sonic Boom would put a dent in all three and work pretty well.
Capt. Marvel (if you have her) would certainly be a better option though, to tank red/yellow for MNThor and build up Red AP with Energy Absorption.0 -
If at all possible let the goon drop their CD tiles before taking them down. At least they use up AP on their end. Made the mistake of letting Don accumulate black AP. BP let off 1 ROP and almost let loose a 2nd ROP before i took him down with a match 5.0

Agreed with the Don last strat. Other than Don, who first? Hitman hits hard but Commander's strike is damaging too. My guess is Hitman is the worst but if you get too lax and leave commander tiles out there and play around with don and one of his non-damaging cds creates a cascade it can down a character. had that happen once.
Also - if you're running daken, a feral claws team up is golden for this survival node. By the last wave you should have at or near 30 red, meaning you can fill all or nearly all the red on the board with strike tiles to chemical react away.0
