You have a 1 in 25 chance of getting HP from a taco. If you consume the Deadpool General's RDA of two tacos daily, on average you'll get 250 HP every eight days. Almost 1000 a month is nothing to sneeze at, even if it is subject to the law of averages.
It's not quite as generous as either of you have made it out to be, but yes, this works as a (randomized) HP source.
The ROI on a token pull is 13HP. So you can basically consider it as a 26HP gain per day, or 9490 HP over the year.
Other quick notes on the odds, assuming you got all 730 tokens:
About 11% won't pull the 1k this year. Sorry folks.
It's nearly impossible to not pull the 250HP at least once.
97.2% of the time you will pull at least 20 of the 250 tokens. So all but the most atrocious of luck will add 5k HP.0 -

So far I have pulled 2 250 HP tokens and that is it. However, someone in my alliance pulled 2 1000 HP tokens AND 3 250 HP tokens... He's on a hot streak also since he has pulled 4 Nick Fury's in 3 weeks. It's nice to be at the top of the curve.0 -
First, I'd like to point out Will's comments about starting over. I mentioned this before months ago. That the developers can "cheat" when testing characters. Giving themselves anything/everything they want. This does not, IMO, give a true feel of the game. But knowing that they actually play the game like everyone else is very reassuring. I've known of other games where the developers, when playing, or testing, start out with maxed characters and enhanced rare equipment. So it's nice to know the guys at Demiurge/D3 actually play the game. Fighting "tooth and nail" for a character is better than just pushing a button and getting said character maxed. It shows the developers what it's truly like to be a regular player and will result in making the game better.
Now, as the saying goes, to "beat a dead horse";....
Roster slot prices; .... they said you can get about 350 extra Hp every 2 weeks. This is great and all, but my next roster slot is over 3k Hp. That is over $20 USD. And it goes up with every slot. What happens when it gets to $35 or $40 per slot. There is no way that a player can get 3,500 or 4,000 Hp every 2 weeks. I'll just leave it here since this topic has been done over and over.
Thanks for the info.0 -
Jct, how large is your roster? Are you doubling up on most of the available guys? I have everyone cept the usual suspects of terrible and I'm hitting 750 a pop right now and it hurts me. I can't imagine how bad it is for you.0

Great googley moogley! There's no cap. At all? I'm gonna quit before I'll shell out $40 a month for new characters to sit on my bench.0 -
I guess some people might find it comforting to know that mathematically, everyone's getting more HP thanks to Deadpool's Daily Quest. Speaking as someone who has never pulled HP out of a Taco Token, and whose roster slot prices are fast rising into "consuming all of your PVP winnings on a fortnightly basis" territory, it's rather frustrating. Additional chances of randomly pulling HP out of a token doesn't translate to a scalable solution to the problem of rising roster slot costs. What this answer says to me is "If you spin the wheel and get lucky, we might help you out with the cost of your next roster slot" - whereas what the game needs is "Here's a permanent, long-term solution to the problem of roster slots."
Only problem with that answer is that it'd require the developers to acknowledge that there's a problem with roster slot prices in the first place...0 -
As previously mentioned, Deadpool daily quest is a great and welcome addition however it does not solve roster slots at all, by any means, what-so-ever.
Fix the price of rosters slot.
Sincerely,
Everybody0 -

1) Yes, there's no cap, but...
2) The price of a roster spot reaches 3000 HP sometime in the 120 range.0 -
I initially had a pretty lengthy critique that I put up about three hours after the video was posted. After further thought, I subsequently removed the post (so no need to go searching for it).
The reasons I changed my mind were for the following:
1) If the developers are going to take time out of their schedule to make the video, then it is difficult for me to be upset that they get to choose the questions that they want to answer out of the questions the forum provided to them.
2) They answered questions posed by players and upvoted by forumites. So, I'm not going to blame them for answering the questions they were asked.
3) 11 upvoted questions were too much. Either the video was going to be about an hour (who wants to watch (or make) something that long), or they were not going to be able to answer all the questions this month.
4) Just because they did not answer the questions this month, does not mean that they will not answer them if asked and upvoted again in future months.
TL; DR: I think we need to re-examine the forumites' role in Q & A. Instead of upvoting all the great questions, we probably need to pick a certain few that we feel are the most important. If not, we will probably continue to get Q & A's like this one, and will have no one besides ourselves to blame.0 -

I have 118 slots. Every character available. Doubles of most. There are still a few that elude me, but I'm trying earn each duplicate and their covers manually, as in not buying them. So it's taking a little while on those. My next slot is 3,100 Hp. My OCD won't be satisfied until I have at least 2 of each. This is where the DDQ has been a huge help to me. Especially for ones I still need, like Squirrel Girl. I have one of her, but haven't gotten a cover to start her back up yet. With DDQ, I will get her eventually .
EDIT:... after posting this, I pulled a Star Lord, Invisible Woman, Elektra, aaaaannnnndddd Squirrel Girl! All 4 I needed to start back ups . So now I'm at 122 slots. After you get 100 slots, they go up by 100 Hp per slot. Before that, they go up by 50 every 3 or 4 I think, (can't remember what it is exactly).
Another problem is I'm a comic junky . At this point, I'm addicted beyond redemption, so why fight it?
I enjoy match 3 games, and with the Marvel characters tossed in, I never stood a chance .
I played the new Assassins Creed and Dragon Age that came out last fall for about 2 days. Other than that, I have not touched my Xbox, Playstation, or Wii since late spring of 2014. I just really love MPQ. And being mobile, I can play just about anywhere, anytime. It's a match 3 game with strategy and uses characters I grew up with. It's the perfect game for me. Or, it would be if there was a playable Professor X, Pheonix(Jean Grey), and Sabertooth. Seriously D3, 3 different Wolverines and Not One Single Sabertooth?0 -

Agreed, part of me was thinking to ask some posters to maybe remove their question since I got the feeling since DDQ came out, those became easy highly voted questions to answer that the forumites have already explained in detail. But, they were valid questions at that point, we'd probably need Mods to help out or posters to get on the same page. Maybe have another thread for potential Q&A's that the forums can vet/review before posting to the official thread? Probably too much to ask for, lol, but if there are only 10 questions on the thread that we really wanted answered as a majority, it'd be interesting to see how they responded.
As for roster slots, it really does feel like how crack dealers operate, really cheap at first until you're completely hooked/addicted and they jack up the prices and we have to go all Dave Chapelle just to keep our fix going.0 -

Some things that stuck out to me;
A.) New Daily Reward structure or mechanic in a month.
B.) First 25 roster slot prices are changing.
C.) 2* character drop rates changing in PvP.
D.) Shield CD Timer in R72.
=====
As for the people nay saying the developers for leaning too hard on DDP for the roster slot dilemma are forgetting about the other places they are addressing the issue by increasing the amount of Hero Points available to to be won - Progression Rewards in PvE/PvP, Daily Rewards, DDP Taco Tokens, etc.
I think we can all agree things are moving in the right direction on all fronts, so how about we put down the pitchforks and give them some time and some space.0 -
Though I would have liked to hear the answer on PVE scaling, I'll just ask again next month. Maybe they need time to noodle on the question anyway. My suspicion is that though the devs know enemy levels go up with your roster level, they may not believe the increased difficulty really merits refraining from leveling up your roster. Despite this, I'd still like them to comment on it because there are a significant amount of skilled players who keep their roster at lower level and are convinced it's advantageous. It would seem to me that the designers would want the game to, as I said, unequivocally incentivize players to level up their rosters, leaving no question as to which route is optimal. The skilled PVE player base doesn't appear convinced leveling is the way to go.
I found most of the Q&A interesting and thank the devs for taking time to answer these questions. I especially enjoyed the commentary on whether the game is truly random or not. It appears even the devs at times question whether deadpool monkeyed with the random number generator.
On roster slot pricing, I'm willing to admit that the deadpool daily quest is a huge gimme to the MPQ community and will save many players money on covers over time. Given that, I'm much more willing to accept paying a bit more for roster slots, and show support for the game -- they have to make money somehow. However, I do feel sorry for JC the 3rd and others who are already at unbelievably high roster slots prices. In their case, I think action is definitely warranted in putting some cap on the price. Sadly, this problem may only be solved when a more modest portion of the MPQ community starts feeling the pinch -- hopefully they find some sort of balance before that point. You don't want to punish most the die hard fans who like to collect doubles.
I was happy to see one of the principle artists join the video. What an awesome job. He should be very proud of his work.
Looking forward to next months Q&A!0 -

Thanks for fixing those godawful maths for me, I would have been much less kinder. 1k HP per month is a ludicrous number to arrive to. If they truly understood the law of averages, the'd never use them to answer a question including the word "regular" and even less, the word "reliable". (Yes, I may be particularly salty about it, because I'm one of the many that have yet to open HP even ONCE).
So let's see the case of a player in the end of transition, such as me (the ones more concerned about roster slot prices). I have every 4* and 3*, half the 2*s and three 1*s. My roster slots cost 700 now. At the average of 5 new character released every two months, I stand to spend around 3.8k HP (accounting for the increase) in the next two months; that's the cost of three 3* covers, to put it in perspective. In the same amount of time, if I get lucky enough to hit the average, (as outlined by the poster above), I'll get around 1.3k HP from taco tokens. Isn't that better than the previous bonus of 0? Sure. Will it become ever-increasingly irrelevant due to ruthless inflation of slot prices? Tinykitty yeah.
Don't get me wrong, I love DDQ and whenever I get HP (which the best, best thing that you can do about is not expect it at all) I'll be grateful. But it is a mere palliative injection that doesn't constitute a long-term solution for the roster slot prices.0 -

If they're lowering the cost of the first 25 roster slots, are they going to be giving out HP refunds for everyone?
Still think its a complete Joke there isn't a cap on roster slot costs, its almost as if they want to put long term players in the position where they need to buy HP for roster slots.0 -

You mean, almost as if they want players to pay money so the game can stay profitable?
It's a freemium game, obviously they are trying to instigate real money purchases.0 -
Great video!
Not very informative in general, but it is always nice to watch you and hear part of your thoughts on the game "live".
Looking forward to the next one!0
