Can't play Deadpool Daily, sigh

  • I'm a big fan of the essential character missions.

A/ it rewards people who hold onto/get the character and b/ if I have them it puts me above those that don't in the points table (more often than not).

I've been in the dark a few times (4hor), and instead of getting upset, I accepted that that's how it is. You win some you lose some. If they gave a loaner then there's no real incentive to hold onto your minor characters.

I can play the essentials as I have Black panther but his yellow is already fully covered, I don't expect them to give me a different colour though.

I got the usual nothing 2* off my first taco token, but another one for kicks and the same result. Fun to have something different tho. I'm excited for these.

It's not D3's fault if you choose to sell a 3* cover. I sold many when I first started and most of the time it's come back to bit me in the backside, so I have a bunch of lvl 40's with 3 - 11 covers sitting there for times like this.

You never know who's going to be essential for what. One of the first things about this game that I went "cool" over was the idea of essentials. It's like a secret level....sorta. I imagine there will be a few dozen threads about everyone should get loaners now. Don't think I'll ever do the 1* level, or might have to buy a roster spot to have a 1*.

Of course it isn't D3's "fault", but after last months Q&A, they made it clear that they like the difficult decisions people have to make as a result of ro$ter $lot$. This is by design.

I've dumped about $180 into the game over a year, by choice, and why wouldn't I? I enjoyed it and wanted to do better and play more and support it. $100 of that was for a few specific covers. As a new player you may not be able to keep up with all the HP needed for new roster slots, but I have spent a penny since I vowed not to, and if you don't want to spend the odd couple bucks here and there to top off shields or buy a roster slot then don't.

It's not a difficult choice. we are all (at least nearly) adults. If it's not worth your time or money, find a game that is, or play with teh charecters you like, simple as that. As far as difficult decisions in games go (online or not) whether I keep a cover or not is one of the least anxiety inducing decisions I've ever made in my entire gaming like (over 20 years).

Good point, but selling him or any 3's is not hard for me at all, just like you. This morning I sold off Luke Cage and Magneto over my other dozens of random 2's and 1's. Problem is the essential part is a bit bogus, I mean just let players play the game, and it they don't have a character just grant them a random token and maybe they get a 1,2,3 or 4. If you do have it then you can play for the reward. This is a bit lame, and players just aren't going to have the covers to play this mode, it doesn't matter how you look at this. It's a mode that gonna go uncompleted countlessly, for one cause it's daily, people are gonna lose track of it, and this essential garbage.

    Let me get this straight.

Not only are you selling a 3 star hero...

You're selling multiple 3 star heroes...

You're selling 3 stars over (in your own words) dozens of 2 / 1 star heroes.

You're not checking to see if said 3 stars could be upcoming essential's...

And then you're complaining that having essential heroes is gating you out of events?

Being locked out of a node because you don't have the cover is nothing new.

I remember PvE's that were 7 days long featuring Lthor & Patch where I had every character except those 2. So I was locked out - which made it all the sweeter when I finally managed to get Lthor & Patch covers.

Do you really want a game to hand everything on a plate with minimal input? What's the point of being able to access everything from the start? Surely this gives nothing to strive for.

It also negates the rewards of those who have invested time/money into the game.

An analogy that springs to mind is playing a RPG game like Diablo, should you be able to access Diablo's lair at level 1 & beat him? Should you have access to all the decent equipment straight away?

There's literally no downside I can even think of to a quick, daily event that provides access to every single 3* cover in the game including vaulted characters that keeps on repeating, the only requirement is to have at least one cover of said character to get a shot at more which isn't asking for too much in my mind. The ISO/HP/Tokens won is just gravy on top that many are thankful for.

    Come on, be happy now!

New game mode is awesome for the game. That said, the"downsides," I see are very minor and only for certain players, but I'll give them to you.

    1. The dilution of already invested HP that was much harder to come by before the implementation of this game mode.
So if you have been playing for a long time, or bought HP, the new players will have the ability to earn HP at a faster rate than established players had. So in some ways this dilutes the value of the HP players have purchased or earned.

    2. It may reduce participation in other game modes.
Why struggle in PvP as a 2-3* transitioner when you you can earn a first cover in PvE, and then more through this.

    3. There may be an even greater outcry about rooster slot prices, until the new ability to earn HP is felt.
If you're choked for roster slots, this mode is going to make you feel punished at first for not "collecting them all." The 250 HP is the tokens at 4* is, in my opinion, a very important addition to HP income to help with roster slot prices. I think it will take a couple weeks for players to realize this will greatly impact resource availability.

TL;DR: The only potential mid-term impact I have any concern with, is the possible reduction in participation in other events.

"My actions prove that I don't know a thing about the game (or I just don't care that much), but I will still complain whenever I feel possible."

That's how you sound. Tell us, if you didn't care enough for BP to outright sell him, why do you care that you couldn't play the couple nodes where would you win another BP?

I'm just going to lock this. Feel free to go through and downvote all his posts, though. icon_lol.gif
