No one mentioned blade as a high impact character?

He was kicking my **** during his pvp. His strike tiles, and then the purple attack tiles can turn the tile pretty quickly. Taking 2.5k - 3k dmg per turn is no joke.

Putting in a +1 for Psylocke. Cheap abilities stay cheap in cost but ramp up in damage. IIRC, with 1 strike tile, Psylocke's attack tiles tick for over 1000 damage per turn. Even with XForce on my team, I'd probably consider 2 Katana hits for 1 Surgical in quite a few situations.

I don't have any maxed 3* just yet, but both Sentry and Hulk are close for me. In the recent Sentry PVP, I used him with OBW and Hulk to great effect. Basically 1 Sacrifice was setting up big numbers (in my world anyway) from any OBW matches, plus the Anger damage was also boosted. I felt like this team helped me fight way above my normal weight class with Sentry boosted.

    3. Black Widow. Still low health. Still unattainably high cost for green.

Good topic, but how is 11 purple unattainable?

I put Doc Ock in at 2 and shift everyone else down. Cap replaced at 6 by Hulk. Don't care if he has a zillion health, he's incredibly easy to manage.

I think that the more health Hulk has, the easier he is to manage. I might even put him even higher (lower?) on the list.

Depends. It's easier to avoid triggering Anger, but it also takes forever to kill him that way. If you're prioritizing speed, he becomes a huge problem with that.

I know Hulk will feed X-Force with green which makes for a faster match than say Daken where I would steal black. I am always much happier if surgical strike steals something I can lay down a high damage move with.

Wonder why no one has mentioned Human Torch? A cheap red that is very powerful, and a black that can really hurt. But his green at high buffed levels is just deadly. Especially if it's somewhere that you can't get to it.

To me, he's in the lot with Punisher, Psylocke, Panther, and a few others. Obviously good buffed, but the impact of them being buffed isn't quite that of some others.

How is Panther with Punisher and Psylocke? Lol

I was on a P roll. Anyway, I'm not putting them together on a character level, but on a "what's the impact of buffing them to 249" level, which was the initial question. I think all 3 have relatively the same impact, their stronger, but it doesn't change the feel of the character other than increased damage.

Increased Hood changes matches (can't easily one-shot him, but he takes more damage). Deadpool black now triggers on most nukes instead of just covering Hood/Loki, making his partners that much harder to kill. Those are impactful changes between the 166/249 versions.

As I think about it, Cage shouldn't be on my list, his red is good enough at 166, so going to 249 doesn't change much there, so he's in same group as the P patrol. Daken's a good swap-in, with same idea as Patch, the regen makes the health increase worth more than what it actually is.
  • If we assume we're facing the same 249 character as well, Blade is not as good as Thirst will trigger both on your turn and the enemy's. Spidey's not too bad as you're grabbing all the Pink. Besides Patch and Daken, Groot might be slightly better as he's harder to one shot, but I'm not convinced boosting his strike tiles will make all that much of a difference, particularly for such an expensive and long ability.
