Highest and Lowest Impact level 249 characters
So, I was playing the Magneto PVP with my level 45 Magneto powered up to level 68.
And from about 500 points and beyond, everyone had a level 249 Magneto.
Which makes sense, because he used to be the strongest character in the game. So people are going to have him.
And they kicked my ****.
First time I missed 900 points in at least 4 seasons.
And it made me wonder.
Who are the highest and lowest impact 3 stars when powered up to level 249?
For me, I define a high impact character as someone that, due to the level spike, is now more dangerous than Xforce and 4hor. There aren't many. But the few that do become that high of impact really make the game much more difficult for people who don't have the maxed character; as opposed to the lowest impact, where a level 60 featured character doesn't give a significant disadvantage over the level 249 featured character.
For me:
Highest impact:
1. Magneto (I may be biased)
2. Hood because he's no longer a one hit kill
3. Punisher. Spammable damage that is powered up.
4. Spiderman. One purple match and you aren't dealing damage ever again haha.
5. Blade. His strike tiles will kill people so freaking fast haha.
Lowest Impact:
1. Beast. Because he's straight terrible even if his numbers were doubled.
2. Falcon. Still barely noticeable in PVP. But his purple does become a pain in the ****.
3. Black Widow. Still low health. Still unattainably high cost for green.
4. Iron MAn. Again. Still unattainably high skill costs. Easy to ignore until last.
5. Captain America. Still painfully slow and can still be prioritized last.
What do you guys think? Any characters that you think have higher or lower impact than those I listed?
Or do you disagree with anyone that I ranked among the two lists?
Sometimes General Discussion gets bogged down with endless complains and requests for changes. I thought it would be nice to have some actual discussion for once .

Patch and Daken should probably be considered high impact, with the increased health and buffed healing. Just like you're saying Spiderman is high impact because he negates match damage, these two aren't affected by match damage either, without having to worry about making pink matches.
And I'd disagree about Pun... it's a buff to powers that are weak to begin with. When you look at something like a buffed DP, who deals 5k damage for 6 reds, Pun is nothing to get excited about.0 -
Be very wary of powered up Squirrel Girl0

If Hood's there, Loki's there.
Deadpool over Punisher easy. 4900ish for 6AP red, plus support protection (have to kill him before Hood/Loki) makes him a nightmare.
Cage over Spidey easy. Same job, only quicker and Cage is infinitely more deadly, given Spidey doesn't have an attack.
So I'd have something like: Hood, Cage, Loki, Deadpool, Patch.
Disagree on Cap. Especially if you have to chew through 26k of XThorce first, Cap's brutal and denying red for that long is tough. Definitely wouldn't have him on the bottom.
I put Doc Ock in at 2 and shift everyone else down. Cap replaced at 6 by Hulk. Don't care if he has a zillion health, he's incredibly easy to manage.0 -
I hate when Hood's boosted. Yes, he survives a little longer, but he also takes several times as much damage on offense because he tanks three colors, usually. And on defense, he just lasts a little longer. Since everyone has Hood he's no longer a major asset, since the two hoods keep cancelling each other out. Lazy Storm's the same way, plus she's still mediocre at 249th level. Beast is irrelevant regardless. And people whose most-used abilities don't scale, like IM40, Loki, and Falcon also belong.
Highest impact might be people Like Sentry, Hulk, and Lazy Thor who take forever to kill and can do a ton of damage if not prioritized, and people like Patch and Lazy Daken because they've got 10k Hit Points plus true healing and need to be taken out within a few turns or they keep regenerating. Patch and Lazy Thor also have the side-effect of locking out the two OP 4*s, so I'd probably give them the top two spots.0 -
Obviously #1 and #2 are gonna be Patch and Lazy Thor, because they remove the best two characters from the game entirely and fill their void. Lazy Thor I believe will sit #1. Removing the best hero in the game from both teams and replacing her with a hero that fuels green, has a massive health pool and has a stellar finishing move is a pretty huge impact.0

During Doom's pvp, I ran him with xfood. 7 attacks total, 5 of them were defense wins. And he only has 2 purple covers.0

Patch No1 for me I think
632 heal per turn & 10k health pool & nasty green & Red.
Surprised also that Blade isn't on anyone's list somewhere, as he is just plain good regardless0 -

Agree with all that Daken should be there, and LThor/Patch are probably 1/2.
Also agree that the high health characters are annoying and therefore impactful. I think Groot and possibly Colossus may be considered here (Sentry as well), and if we see a major She-Hulk revamp she might be considered as well - Rags as well depending on his 3rd ability.0 -

I think that the more health Hulk has, the easier he is to manage. I might even put him even higher (lower?) on the list.
Psylocke might not be great, but when she's boosted, those cheap red and blacks can add up and hurt, she might not be top 5 but she can be a pain.0 -

Depends. It's easier to avoid triggering Anger, but it also takes forever to kill him that way. If you're prioritizing speed, he becomes a huge problem with that.0 -

I may be biased, but shehulk is already reasonably good especially when boosted. cheap board shake with respectable aoe dmg. Her pvp got me the last xf black I needed0 -
Wonder why no one has mentioned Human Torch? A cheap red that is very powerful, and a black that can really hurt. But his green at high buffed levels is just deadly. Especially if it's somewhere that you can't get to it.0

That's a good point. When I see Hulk, I bring either or They are a huge help to take him out faster.0 -
I don't think punisher is that big of an impact, or spidey really. I love blade but not sure it he'd be top tier. I would say:
Hulk - at 249? yeah, skip.
patch - heals a pile every round
Lthor - just the hp and damage
Luke cage - seems to be an **** kicker in general
Groot - all those HP with a big heal, with damage support, could be murder
Then maybe cmags.
Lowest impact would be the usual suspects. I wouldn't count falcon out, with the right team he can be a real big pain, and if you have a strike tile generater with him...well, it's trouble.0 -

Running him with laken and falcon is a good time.0 -

To me, he's in the lot with Punisher, Psylocke, Panther, and a few others. Obviously good buffed, but the impact of them being buffed isn't quite that of some others.0 -
I'd place Mororo well down on the lowest impact 249s for one reason: Highest Match Color is Green. She bring a LOT of negative value when you can use Surgical Strike to take green, and on defense she might use black on Hailstorm.0

Good topic, onimus!
It's a nice follow on from the comment bonfire made in the other thread about the 3* -> 4* transition/attempting to get 1K, and the importance of 3* depth in your roster, particularly with regards to the maxed featured character in PvP.
I'd add my voice to the votes for LThor and Patch. LThor is a heavy hitter anyway, and Thunder Strike and CtS become pretty nasty at 249, plus he moves up into TGT health range when boosted. If anything, LThor is possibly more effective on defence than TGT when boosted, since his attacks aren't order dependent for effectiveness. Patch with boosted health at 10K, plus a boosted regen is a high impact character too. They both get my 1 and 2 votes for those reasons, plus as has been mentioned, they take X-Force or TGT off the table when featured.
I'm on the fence about Hulk. He certainly becomes a massive meat shield at 249, and it does take time to chew through all those HP, but he doesn't really have the same damage potential as TGT (in the same HP class), plus you don't need to dance around Anger quite as much when he's boosted, which is his main threat.
Likewise, I'm on the fence about Hood. I think it depends if you have your own 4-5 blue cover Hood to bring to the party. If you do, because he's featured, there's no impact to having him there, since he's mandatory. If you don't have a 4-5 blue Hood, I think a 249 Hood has a very significant impact, due to the fact he's not so easily one-shotted.
I'd agree with the votes about Blade being high impact for sure, as well.0 -

Spider man would be better suited for a "from bad to good" list, since he is one of the worst 3 stars in the game, but he actually becomes pretty strong during his featured event.
As for Cap, I dunno. When I'm talking about high impact, I mean a character that goes from low priority to "you need to kill them before Xforce or 4hor" haha. I am just not all that scared of Cap, even when he is buffed.
Doc Oc could easily be on this list, but he's just bad in every way even when he isn't featured, like Beast. I didn't want to put 2 of those on my list0 -

How is Panther with Punisher and Psylocke? Lol0
