How diverse is your roster - Iso8 edition

Some 2* Thor/Marvel on tougher "easy" nodes, some 2* Wolvy/Daken/Hawkeye on trival nodes, occasional 3* Spidey/Thor/Patch/Daken/Blade (about 80% covers for them). I think I skipped Falcon (fully covered) this time so probably only 13 of 60....
I'm one of those that bumped 5/5/1 X-force to max (233) and have no other characters past 140. So my scaling went bizarre and I'm pretty much forced into using X-force in every single mission. Diversity!
Yeah, that's why you don't do that if you care about PvE. Of course, if you're going to, at least he's sustainable. Can't imagine having a 4Thor 100 levels past everyone.0 -

I'm curious what your scaling was like. How high were the levels of the toughest enemies in the Hard sub?
NY (last sub) just opened up, essentials are "easiest" : 191 x3 (goons), Jugg/Moonstone/Rags 169. Those aren't impossible by any means - but when you only have one character above 140 (DP is 140, so he's scaling to 230 as well) it means lots of using that character and lots of health packs needed. That's just opened as well, the global scaling (Or using X-force over and over?) usually drives these up significantly by the time it refreshes.0 -

Thanks! That definitely helps clarify whether I'm ready to level my characters past where they're currently at. Sorry for the tangent, thread. Please resume.0 -
I always wondered. Do you guys who have like 7+ maxed 3 stars run everyone until therecdead or low health not to be usable or do you only use a few characters and wait for those to HEAL before you play more0

Depends. In a typical PVE, if I have to go to the deep cuts on my roster, I'll use them, but if it's a single node that's troubling me, if I can't beat it with X-Force/Lazy Daken/Deadpool, or one of the other combos I like, I'm not going to solve it by bringing in Psylocke.
But if there are a bunch of nodes I'm trying to wear down, and the danger is less difficulty than just attrition, I'll frequently start taking advantage of the deep cuts in my roster to spread the damage around. Devil Dinosaur gets a lot of playtime when I'm just trying to clear out nodes six times.0 -
Pretty exclusively ran XForce/Mystique/MnMags. (sub Deadpool for X when essential).
I'm getting old in MPQ years and usually go to the boring and effective.
I did use Daken/Psy/Falcon on a couple easy nodes for variety. Look at me the party animal.0 -
I did this PVE w/ 55 toons.
Toons I used a lot, especially for essential nodes (5):
Deadpool (obviously)
X-Force & Spider Man
Falcon & Blade
Then on the non-essential nodes (16):
Punisher or 3* Thor with the above teams
2* Thor
Hood
Doom
3* Daken
Mystique
C Mags
Mohawk
3* Cap
Psylocke
Patch
Daredevil
Human Torch
Loki
OBW
So I used 21 toons, 5 of them being the core rotation. It was nice using off-toon teams, because I didn't worry about conserving health. I made it a point not to use Deadpool on non-essential nodes when possible (which was nearly always), to conserve his health.0 -
Most used:
X-Force, 4hor, Fury (Simulator team mostly), CMags, Hood, LThor, Daken
From time to time:
Deadpool, LCap, Blade, MNMags, Storm, Spiderman
And that's pretty much it, i got 62 heroes and 63 slots0 -
Most Used:
X-Force, Thor 4*, Loki, Hood. I like Loki a bit more than Hood.
Against low-level teams:
Daken, Blade, Falcon. Stabbywings team. No team is faster at wiping out low-level goons.
Against Survival mode:
Invisible Woman, Captain America, Original Black Widow. When a game is longer than 1 game, IW is a great character. Cap is also a master of long games.
Also fun to play:
Daredevil, Black Panther, Deadpool, Magneto, Rocket&Groot, Nick Fury. All can unleash decent damage.
If Thor 4* wasn't quite so powerful, I'd use guys like Daredevil more.0 -
In my roster I have the following maxed*
(Goddess) (XF)
Fully covered but not maxed:
So with all of that, who have I used for this event (not counting the nodes with preset teams)
(XF) (Goddess) (essentials only)
Those have covered all of the tougher nodes and non goon essentials.
Goon nodes get: if is essential. If he's not, comes in. In the low level nodes that is on the enemy team, (Patch) comes in. I did play a couple of higher level goon nodes with (Patch) - with the choice of Patch of Daken since he's an outlet for green, and if the goons are never having a skill go off (they rarely do), giving them strike tiles isn't a huge problem.
Occasionally I broke out the engine, but that can still be fragile.
I'd honestly like to use more of my roster (since I am actually quite happy with my roster), but with scaling being what it is, it's honestly just easier to use a team that I know will win and not have much of a chance of wiping.
*SexGoddess are at 269 because I like primes.0 -
I used one team for most of the trivial/easy nodes: Punisher, Psylocke, Falcon. They're three of my favorites, and that's an enjoyable and fast team to use. If someone got too banged up I swapped out for Spiderman.
When the nastier nodes started appearing I started using Patch & Lazy Daken, especially when Deadpool was required. Their self-healing helped a lot when Juggernaut was generously handing out headbutts .0 -
Essential:
Deadpool, Patch, OBW
Non-essential:
Patch, Lazy Cap, OBW
Sometimes swapped Lazy Cap for CMags or Laken, and OBW for Hood.0 -
I used Elektra, Star Lord, Fury, X-force, 4hor, deadpool, blade, laken, grocket, dd, hood, loki, mystique, hood, she-hulk, hulk, mohawk storm, classic storm, modern storm, 2* thor, fat thor, a. wolvie, 2* ms. marvel, m.mags, c. mags, gsbw, obw. for a total of 27. I relied on 12 of these pretty heavily but I used the others when I had unfortunate wipes.0

My teams for Iso-8 Brotherhood were:
Essentials (Hard): DP, 3* Daken, Captain America (Steve Rogers)
Essentials (Easy): DP, 3* Thor, Patch/Magneto (Classic)/Punisher
Standards (Hard): 3* Daken, Hulk, Captain America (Steve Rogers)
Standards (Easy): Whoever fell in my roster that wasn't otherwise wounded.
So 7 characters used most of the time with scatterings of others on the easy nodes to save health elsewhere. Only Hulk, Daken and Cap are fully leveled. Thor got to 166 at the end of the Event, he was 153 before that. Magneto, Punisher, and Patch are all around 150-155.
My scaling tends to run around 170-ish enemies at the start of the Event and hit around 240-250 on the harder nodes by the end with minions going higher. Not that minions can ever touch the awesomeness that is Steve Rogers, no matter what level they are. Unless they throw out multiple CDs like The Hand with Shurikens. Then Steve goes in a corner and cries a little.0 -
My roster is probably moderately diverse, but I only used X-Force Wolverine, Deadpool, Psylocke (aka, the X-Force theme team) for the whole event. XF and Psylocke are maxed, Deadpool was 4/1/2 for most of the event (I think soft cap was 91; after the progression Black cover he's L104).
It doesn't have great synergy, but it does have rainbow actives. Splitting Red between ALOTT and Strike tiles, Bewilder and Recovery both random and long enough that they could get matched/destroyed, SS mostly getting Purple + Whales still fairly weak at 1 cover. I often found that setting up strikes and attack tiles early was the best play to make, rather than holding on to Black for SS. Bewilder got matched away more often than it went off, and I think every time it did work, it stole Blue AP.0 -
Why Spidey gets no love in this event?
Main team (in Hard subs)
Deadpool (5/5/3), LThor (3/5/5), Spidey (3/5/5) for villains or OBW for goons
Patch, LDaken, Blade against goons in non-essentials
Spidey was really helpful with protect tiles when i was collecting purple for whales. Those protect tiles reduces a lot of match damage over the course of the match and serves as a protective function against Gravity Warp. My main strategy was collecting red for deadpool followed by whales (5k AOE damage!). Secondary objective was Yellow and Green for Lthor to smite my foes. Worked pretty well esp against Jugs, Ares and Rags.
Spidey's stun also came in handy when i wanted the AI to use the less destructive ability between 2 characters. For example if i'm fighting Jugs and Rags and the AI has 6 red, i stun Jugs and the AI will use Thunderclap instead.
Main team (Easy subs)
Deadpool (one cover), Patch, LDaken, Blade, Xforce (only 4/3/4)
Psylocke, Wolvie, tiny Daken, Falcon, Gamora, Ms Marvel
Tried a few times
3* Cap, Cap Marvel, Mystique/Mnmags (too fragile when not boosted), DD, 2* thor
I like using boosted 3* and 2* characters in the events so i try to find some synergy with the other fully/almost fully characters that i have.
Edited to shower more love on Spidey0 -
Essential:
Deadpool, XF, OBW
Goons:
XF, Hood, OBW
Non-essential:
XF, Hulk, LCap, Hood, OBW, Blade, Cap Marvel, 2*Mags, 2* Daken0 -
Believe it or not, I actually used Beast, Spiderman, Bagman, Doc Oc, and even IW a few times. Of course, I only used them on the low level nodes with enemies in the level 40 to 60 range. And not at the same time either. Only did it just so I could get them off the bench and out in the field a bit. They were looking a little bored just sitting in my roster taking up space . Beast might have had a book to read and keep himself busy, but the others were really sad looking with enemies to beat on.
On the harder nodes, ones with enemies up in 200, 250+ range, I mainly used Xforce, Steve Rogers, Hood, Hulk, Patch, C Mag, Big Thor, Thorette, Deadpool (of course), and a few others. But mostly, it was Xforce, Steve Rogers +3rd.0 -
On any event where I actually want the hero I use boosts. It's just a rule I have. Boosts are available, use them.
For about 90% of this event I used TGT/Deadpool/XF. Other 10% I used MNM/MQ/BP or good old standbys like Blade/Daken/Thor. Didn't buy Health Packs, but used all 5 every run almost.0 -
I used mostly Patch, OBW, and Hulk. I brought in Psylocke for her quick strike tiles and occasionally used Blade and 2* Daken for their synergy with Espionage. If a node got too dififcult, I just Hulk/Patch bombed it.0
