Small Victories

There's a lot of complaining on the forum about token draws/RNG/pricing/cascades, etc., and that's okay, because it's a forum to discuss things about the game, bad or good. Sometimes, though, *good* things happen, and I thought it might be nice to have a thread for such events. Anything from a great token draw you were hoping to receive to unexpectedly pulling victory from the jaws of defeat, or being amused by a bit of dialog - if the game did something that made you happy/made you smile/amused you, please post it.

My Small Victory: On the heels of a defeat. I wanted that red Classic Magneto cover in the recent tournament (top 25 reward). I decided to gun for it, and broke shield with 15 minutes to go and boosted like a mad man, hoping to race from 37th to 25th or greater. Luck was with me! I won four battles in a row (including one match well above my weight class, the cascade deities were kind), and came out 24th with <1m in the tournament! VICTORY!... except... when the credits rolled, I discovered that I had dropped to 27th in the final 30 seconds, losing top 25 by 6 points. *Cue Sad Trombone* *(and also some bad words).

However, tonight, opening tokens, my single opened ISO-8 Brotherhood token yielded - CLASSIC MAGNETO RED! I howled, I grinned, I pumped my fist! I scared my cat!

I've been wanting to share my good luck this week. Been having so many excellent pulls thanks to the Brotherhood PvE. I got two Squirrel Girl covers and a Luke Cage cover from the event tokens. And I got blue CMags from an alliance heroic.

I also got a Doom and an IW cover, but I had already maxed out those colors so I sold them.

Needless to say, I'm pretty satisfied.

I've pulled a red Luke Cage (taking him to 4) and an X-Force token from event rewards. I think the latter was Green, but whichever was enough to take him to 2/2/2.

You know what has been a 100% win for me? Signing on with Moose's buddy list idea. Free ****, every day, several times, for nothing. Win win win.

The occasional chance to use a **** team against low level PvE nodes equals fun to me. Especially if I can fire off several useless powers during the course of the match. Yes, I'm weird like that.

And I'm really looking forward to taking Cyke's glamorous butt for a test ride tonight. ... That might have come out wrong.

This. When grinding 3XX PVE battles, or all Thorces in PVP, it is so nice to come back to the "easy" PVE sub and be able to use DareDevil, Beast and Doc Oc (okay, Im lying on those last two). There is something enjoyable about being able to use the bottom end of my roster occasionally.

I had just complained about how I wasn't getting anything out of my tokens. So then I get a heroic and a PvE token rewards from the 12 hour battles and I got Two Wolverine Patches from them. The Devs heard my outcry I thought. And hopefully I can score two patches from the mags PvP . then I'll have 9

I was surprised by my luck this weekend too. I had a lot going on so didn't get to play very much but still managed to pull a Daredevil and a Lazy Thor and both were from Standard Tokens! These were the first 3 star covers I've seen in a LONG time!

Now I'm just excited to see what Deadpool's Daily Quests are all about.

Small victory: finished the last and hardest node of my PvE clear today with my team at 86, 100 and 143 health

No, I got it. I just felt like I had to say something because everyone was getting all of this great stuff out of ISO-8 Brotherhood tokens and I effectively got ISO. I will share a small victory when I can think of one actually happening

After not getting a quickly usable cover in a while I got two doom covers (including my 4th !) yesterday. He's currently a 12 covers so I just need one more to get my first fully covered 3*.

well, i really hate missing colours, when i saw poor Star Lord (1 pink), i assumed my mission was to get yellow and red
was cool to see red given as season reward, but when i was assuming i had to fight for the yellow colour... first token i open from pve? yellow Star Lord! it must be like the first time in ever i get a 4* i want in such a short time lol

Had a good one today. Running Patch/OBW/Loki against 200+ Rags and Juggs. Patch and Loki both bought it after an insane Rags never ender, but I had just cast BR and Trickery the prior turn. Ended up with roughly 2000 hp OBW plus four Patch strike tiles and a bunch of protects. Rags and Juggs both had over 8k hp. Came all the way back. The strike tiles were in the corner so Rags never touched them snd the computer prioritzed his green over Juggs (and prob red too now that I think about it). I couldn't believe it was happening. Was awesome.

That last shield hop today... I'm pretty sure most of you know the feeling.
One last hop left to get to 1k (and !!). I hit Jamie Madrox for 50 (half expecting him to jump out at me from my phone for my audacity ), then someone else for 35, together that would have been more than enough to reach 1k, but no, I get wiped thanks to the lousiest board ever on my second match. So I play another one because I can't hop again thanks to the cooldowns. I would have reached 1k, but get hit and end up at 980, Star-Lord as distant as after the last one. So I think "what the hell" and play a fourth, fully expecting to get ripped apart by the descending vultures in the meantime... but I don't get hit at all and finish at 1022.
... And now excuse me while I see a doctor after my MPQ-induced heart attack.

It was Saturday night and I had just completed my ISO-8 grind when I told myself

"Meh, open a deadpool ISO-8 10-pack!"

He is my favorite Marvel character after all.

As soon I opened the 10 pack, I told myself

"Idiot, you could've bought 2 covers that you wanted with that HP"

First was a 2*, the next 4 were:

For someone transitioning, 50% gold pull on a 10 pack is a "small" victory

I have a good news/bad news scenario to add to this that happened to me last night. Ground the heck out of the last subs in the Brotherhood PvE chasing top 10, and ended in 11th place by something like 200 points That's the bad news.

Then, I decided to open the 32 tokens I had hoarded from the event. 32 tokens netted me 7 Gold pulls (Hood, Gamora, Spidey, Daredevil, Falcon, Magneto and Doom) None of them were anything I needed, but still, 7 Golds from 2* tokens is a pretty rare thing. That's not even the best part tho. The last two tokens showed me flashing gold, netting me a Purple Elektra and a Thor Yellow!! Huzzah!

I went out of town for the holiday weekend. No signal most of the time. But I got a few matches in, here and there. I almost got my Cyke. But I scored enough that my alliance group was able to fit me in and I got the alliance cover.
