MPQ Player Questionnaire

(And for the record, they don't need to ask us if we're spent money on MPQ - they have those numbers )
We are talking about a survey... Not the minutes of a quarterly report...0 -
In the question "Why do you enjoy playing MPQ" there should be an option "I quit" and a text box for an explanation.0

I filled out the survey, but honestly, I have a hard time understanding how any of those questions will help you improve this game...0

This survey helps them know what questions to ask in the next survey. Maybe?0

It's a marketing/advertising survey. My guess is it's about targeting new players, with the outside chance it's understanding the market for whatever their next project is.0 -

I agree. It was designed to associate the people who pay to the reasons why they play. That's something that doesn't show up in the numbers they have0 -

THIS. Yes please and thank you. I also want to second the person who stated that you shouldn't ignore development of the story if the results of this come back showing that no one cares about the story. It more likely means that we're giving you a thumbs down on the story because you never finished it, or even progressed it in any way.0 -
Though I liked it being brief... I didn't like the questions.
It felt like I was manipulated with answers they want rather than answers I felt.
MPQ is a multiplayer game, a puzzle game, a fighting game, a strategy game, and an RPG game... and I play it because it's ALL of them together. Being just One of those would not mean I would have continued playing the game or even enjoyed it to begin with.
My favorite types of games are puzzle, RPG, and online multiplayer.
Do you like your burgers with a) ketchup b) cheese c) lettuce d) tomato e) fries? I like my burgers with all those except ketchup... but I'm supposed to pick one and then live in fear that my picking one doesn't make them decide to remove the rest from the burger.
Am I reading too much into the questions and limited answers? I think the limiting of choices in the answers is skewing their data because they are not in fact accurate. With multiple answers you can truly find out what the most common answer is along with the fact that the people who most often chose answer A also chose D and E, etc.
Try describing a person with one characteristic. Try telling someone how you feel about them in one word.
It felt like I was sitting in a witness box with an attorney questioning me with yes and no questions and I want to elaborate but can't, and when I finally finish, they painted a completely different (inaccurate) picture with my answers because I wasn't allowed to elaborate. I would feel helpless and used.
I know its just a survey, but I think the answers to it are not going to benefit them with the exception of the last one, have you ever bought in game currency.0 -

Thing is the questions are not relevant so to do...0 -
Like Arktos mentioned, missing the key info of 'did you spend money on this game' makes it kind of hard to try to profile anything else into the bottom line. I see no way to tie whoever answered their survey to your MPQ account so no matter how great a profile you can make from the questions, it really doesn't matter because you don't have any information on whether those guys spent money on MPQ or not.0

Crazy theory here guys, better sit down first; but what if...what if....they were trying to figure out why their users stay? User retention is a thing people tend to like and figure out.0

It would also be nice to know at what points in the game players are likely to leave, and the reasons. It's great to know why the people that stay, stay, but probably more important to figure out why those that quit left, and what tweaks to the game could have retained them.
I'm hoping the rumored daily PvE to ease 2-3* transition is true. It seems to me like the 2-3* transition is one of the break point.0 -
Filled it out. Comments in the thread do explain the logical rationale behind the questions. Although I have spent $ on a mobile game, it has not been this one, so that might skew some results.0

It seems to me it is just a way to "entertain us", and give us the impression we participate in the life of MPQ. But it's just a mirage. Anyone with a few skills in marketing, and especially in quantitative surveys would have done better than this.
It was the same with "please help us improve the translations", and nothing happened.
It is the same with the monthly Q&A... They get tons of questions, and only address a few of them.
They just don't have the time, because they overspend their time building new characters we never asked for.0 -
Reply submitted. Will there be then some nice pie chart shared with the community afterwards summarizing the responses?0

Regarding the suggestions about the voting method, rather than letting people choose a single or multiple options, the best way would be to ask people to rank their choices in terms of preference. That would actually give the devs the most accurate and useful information.
Using JVReal's burger analogy, there may be a lot of disagreements between various customers whether the sauce or the cheese is the most important ingredient in a certain burger, so a survey would show a 50/50 spilt between people who pick sauce as their favorite choice and those who pick cheese as their favorite choice. However, almost everyone agrees that the beef is very good and rank it as their second favorite ingredient.
A survey where you are only allowed to pick 1 choice would completely miss the information about the beef, and a survey where you can pick multiple choices would show that beef is an important ingredient but perhaps would not fairly represent its significance. A ranked survey would actually correctly identify the significance of all factors.0 -
The "how did you find MPQ" question is a tough one for the 400+ day set. Given I have upgraded phones twice since I started playing my most reliable answer to that question at this point is "Didn't it come pre-installed on this phone?"0
