Hi everyone,

I wanted to point you in the direction of a new Marvel Puzzle Quest player questionnaire. The questionnaire is short-and-sweet and can be answered in just a minute or two. If you'd like to join in and provide feedback on a few MPQ-related topics you can find it here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MPQ01

All responses provided will be kept private and no contact info is required. Thanks very much for your participation!

Next time consider using checkboxes for some questions!

(since i would pick multiple answers for some questions)

    Thanks for collectiong our feedback!
  • Done.

And let me say I am all for surveys such as this and hope that they continue with questions that could perhaps help give the dev team some direction on how to improve the game and/or what to focus on next.

For some reason these questions made me super nostalgic about playing the original Puzzle Quest on DS.

    Done. Interesting profile of questions.
  • Done and thanks for taking some more interest in your players...

Comment on the final question about having bought in game items/currency. It asks have you do so "before" but before what? This game? Prior to today? It's not clear. I've spent money on F2P games before today but on this game...

I answered "no" assuming "before" meant before MPQ...

    Done.

Checkboxes would have been nice. I like that it was quick and easy.

    Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to answer the questionnaire and thanks for the feedback.

I'm not sure exactly what's going on with the "next time use check boxes" comments since there are check boxes/buttons. A check mark, or button mark should appear when you select an answer. So, I assume depending on what device you are using there may be an issue with the buttons and check marks not showing up. The answers do seem to be registering correctly, which is good.

I'm fairly certain they simply meant don't use radio buttons that force a single answer for all of the questions, but checkboxes so you can give multiple answers to a question. It's hard sometimes to choose just one. icon_e_smile.gif

Was the questionnaire only good from 4-5:30? I'm getting:

"This survey is currently closed. Please contact the author of this survey for further assistance."

This time around we are looking for single answers to help pinpoint responses. There will be more questionnaires in the future and some of those may contain answers that allow multiple selections. icon_e_biggrin.gif

Hi. The questionnaire is still open! Due to an overwhelming response we maxed out briefly and the survey auto-closed. Everything should be back up and ready for your participation once again.
    Thank you!

    .
I think they meant giving the option to check multiple boxes. If not, then I'm gonna say that it would be cool to have a multiple answer questionnaire.
  • You forgot the question :

Have you made a purchase in MPQ ?

The last question does not make sense if you do not ask this one.

You DO need someone worth something in marketing...

The questionnaire was most definitely a psychological profile, so we can probably skip the hair brained scheming on this one guys.

(And for the record, they don't need to ask us if we're spent money on MPQ - they have those numbers icon_lol.gif)

Disappointed in the small number of options given for the type of game we like best.

WHERE IS THERE A PLATFORMING OPTION?

Seriously, Shovel Knight, 1001 Spikes, Rayman, Mario Bros, and a whole host of other amazing 2d platforms have been released recently. Why are we ignoring this segment of gaming?

And why do I have to choose only one FAVORITE?

^Although i understand not every game genre can make the list i was also surprised about this. although i checked puzzle games since i <3 MPQ, i honestly enjoy action adventure games like Zelda or Shadow of the Colossus (although now that i think about it they both have puzzle game elements to them lol). i also like fighting games. Probably explains why i like this game so much!

oh, and also i just wanted to point out with the first question you listed "You enjoy the story and the look of the characters" as on option. i can see how this might be a viable option for a newbie but for vets and long time players who are still waiting for the Dark Reign storyline to end it seems a bit disingenuous considering the snail pace new story content is added to the game. To put it simply, i doubt there are many people who stick around playing MPQ because of the story content.

The only reason i bring this up is i would love to see more story content added but if the devs look at the results and see only .5% of the player base are playing the game for the story they might justify ignoring it and continue focusing on pushing more and more characters out with no storyline. Ideally, every new character should get a pVe story event, but i understand that is probably asking for too much considering the limited resources and time for the dev team. But i think it's something they should consider seriously. Maybe a new story event every two months, with small bonus content mixed in the form of mini-games?

Yes, I thought the lumping of story and art together was an odd choice. I'm sure there are a lot of players who love the story and hate the art work, and vice versa.
Regarding story, I would love to see them release one new story per season, and one new character per season, and the new story line would be centered around the new character. It would make each character feel special (if they have their own introductory story it seems like someone on the dev team/writers took an interest in them as more than just a jumble of covers), and slow down the breakneck pace of character releases.

Back on the topic of the Questionnaire, I hope you guys do more of these - polls of a reasonable length are always fun, and I'd love to see a new one every week or so for us to participate in.
  • I took the survey. One thing i would like to note is that i was not able to choose my favorite type of game on question 5 because strategy games wasn't an option in the question. Therefore i chose my 2nd favorite (racing).

For the reason that I am attracted to the game, there is an option for "Because it's a Marvel property", but for some reason no equivalent option for "Because it's a Puzzle Quest property". I chose the nearest answer which was the RPG nature of the game since that's what drew me to Puzzle Quest, but it would have been good to have been able to give a more specific answer.
