Little bit frustrated, Got a ? before deciding

How much time are ppl grinding daily, say last 2 days of event/tourny's or weekend ones?.I personally play atleast 8 hrs everyday, im alittle obsessive about beating games.I may be looking to stray from this game though, unless dev's put a sane pvp scoring in, doubled shields so forced to either spend double HP i earn in event or the later i choose, watching the 1k points I earned and defended drop to 650ish in literal last 22 mins.So the 3 day event i spent more than 20 hours on was worth nil to the guy who woke up late at 300 points and pounced thru in 2 hours. Was up till 230 am EST playing then back up at 9 am playing for last 3 hours? The events work beautiful got all 3 punisher covers for my vigilance redoing repeatables at +20 iso.Fix the lazy bug or give me some hope it'll eventually get sorted.Post script ....after tickets Im still stuck on day 78 for daily gifts, been atleast 3 weeks now, anyone got this issue still?

  • if you are a new player, i cannot stress this enough ... do not start a tournament until the final minutes. you will not be able to maintain your top 25 standing for a decent reward otherwise.

start playing when there's 30 minutes left in the tournament.
  • That's not entirely true. 30 mins would be tough for a new player and best left for mid-high level players. I'd say the sweet spot for newer players is 3-6 hours.
  • yeah do that instead. 30 minutes might not be long enough to get enough games in.

4 hours is good because it will give you a full health pack cycle for a second push.
  • Three hrs indeed. The game promotes laziness. You cannot play for hrs and excel. PvE, play too long and your points dwindle. PvP play too long and all your matches become worth 15+ and less, MMR sky rockets, and you're in the Raging Tempest of losing 33+.

The developers are currently working on improving PVP. It would be better to wait and see. Right now that advice may be good but even the recent changes, including shields, haven't stabilized to a point to understand what other players will do. Depending on how high the scores of the top 25, 30 minutes may not be enough to advance to top 25.

The problem is that their "improving" it in the wrong order. They want to implement a skip cost before fixing MMR, so you either have to hit a bunch of single digit point opponents and hope they don't retaliate or spend a bunch of iso.
  • Am I new still, Got every character and 75% at cap and my 3 stars are all 75 thru 95 except rags, loki and hood? regardless i cant not fight for tourny except last bit, maybe grind to 1k next tyme then shield 2 hours away, need to make amount of fights you win a big part of see-saw rubberbanding, i win 100 fights, prize go to tweerp who did 25 battles on last day

Man if you're considered new then I'm a hatchling. I started mid to late December and don't have nearly as much as you. Probably doesn't help that I haven't been focusing on Lightning Rounds lately.

Given your accolades; no, you're not new. You have to know and understand the system to place well. You're voraciousness is counter-intuitive to how the system works. You MUST play later. Tardiness is your guide in this game.
  • Playing later only helps if it's a tournament that ends at a time that favors playing later, like the last one, and that's simply because you can't expect people who have obligations to do get a lot of last minute playing for something that ends in 9am-noon depending on which US time zone you're in. In my bracket I had a pretty good chance of finished top 5 even though the #1 was about 2375 (so definitely not a late bracket) if I didn't have other obligations. In particular, in a late bracket while all the points are relatively lower, everyone on the bracket is likely thinking exactly the same thing you're thinking, so there's no guaranteed competition is going to be any less.

Playing later avoids those who are spending HP on shields to get to 2400+. If nothing else, you have a more even shot at 1st place since you can't pay to win your way up short of spending a ridiculous amount of money on iso to buy boosts and health packs.

It probably afford you a better chance at #1 but your overall variation on where you finish is likely larger. That might be worth the risk if you have no particular need for the 3 star covers.

Which, considered it's Punisher again for the current one, I'm assuming a lot of people are really only looking for #1.
  • Gah I want to join since work is slow today. Oh well, I'll have to live with a **** bracket. I don't enjoy sitting out doing nothing.

I want to join too... but I don't have enough buff characters to make me want to do this one.

I've got all the buffed characters with max covers (if not max levels) except for Ragnarok. The only thing I need from this bracket is a 4 star cover, so I guess I'll fight for Iso and progression, and if I'm not sitting in first, I'll tank.

Well I joined this one early since the only rewards I need at all are the final 2 progression ones. Mainly farming ISO although I might see if it's possible to hit 2400 without shielding.

+all.+3 boost and you actually are still going slightly above even on ISO. So no need to spend ISO as much as just not GAIN ISO.

Also pretty funny hearing the phrases lazy and tardy in.reference.to.NOT .playing.a game lol...I usually start tournements whenever the last 11pm PST or so before the tournement ends is. Sometime i mix it up though ...there is no "perfect time" for a bracket....for when go end playing? As long as you play at a time where a 8 hr shield will cover you till.the end you are probably good. I would recommend playing anywhere from 9 hrs out to 3 hrs out. I feel unless you are going no shield you are better off avoiding the last hour or so.

I'm doing what jozier said..except I am just not going to play today. Since all I want is the wolverine ill just do one late push and just not care and leave myself to get swallowed by red retaliations if I feel that won't workout.
