Dunno about that. 2 bucks and you get an extra 300. Yep that's a great deal. I get it, but come on, shake the cage a little a do better than that.

ISO is the worst thing to spend $$$'s on. If the sale was a 200% bonus maybe but as is its a massive rip off.
  • Just compare the iso amount to the hp amount you would get for the same money.
If you think it would be easier for you to grind the hp for let's say a stark salaray than for 100k of iso then yes, then it's a good deal.
But even then you should never even think about this because, well, you're crazy and you know it.

We aren't their target audience when it comes to these sales since we've obviously never encouraged it as a good idea ever.

As forumites I agree. As a new player they see a shiny new splash message and think its a good value. We've seen enough complaints about how bad the packs are that I think newer players are probably their biggest revenue source outside of whales.
  • Most forumites are beyond the point where 1560 iso or even 17,160 iso for $20 is even a factor in leveling a character. A brand new player is not. And if every new player kicks in 20 bucks for iso I'm sure that's a whole lotta cash at some point.

    Short answer: no.

    Longer answer: HELL no.

Even longer answer: "If the sale was a 200% bonus maybe" - STILL NO. Paying $20 (or whatever your currency is for Hidden Stash) for even 40k ISO is STILL a HORRIBLE DEAL.

Here's the thing: you can make 10s of 1000s of ISO from one PvE event. It's not worth it because you can easily max all your 2*s from events alone. Meanwhile, maxing a SINGLE 3* takes 170k ISO - for which 40k is still just a small chunk. And I'm still talking about if they boosted ISO sales by 200%! MUCH LESS 30%.

So buying ISO is worthless because you don't need it for 2*s, and worthless because you need way too much of it for 3*s. Don't ever buy ISO, ever. Even if it's on sale. Even if they double it. Even if they triple it.
  • It would have to be 20 bucks for 150k iso for me to even consider buying it. I made 62k iso last week alone in the 2x pvp events.

Yeah, I would scrap the ISO and instead sell levels.

$20--maxes character. If you only had a 3/4/5 4hor, it would max it out to the full level, if you had a 5/3/5 Patch it would max him out to full level you would get a lot more sales this way.
  • It's good for people with no experience in the game.

And apparently these are the ones who bring the more money in the game.

    Hence the 10/42 packs...

I really do wonder how well iso sells in general.

I'd probably buy iso at least once if it was 10x the value. Time = money.

you have to think that if they could make more money for a different deal they would no?

I would love to see the ISO sell numbers when it is normal. IDK anybody who has bought ISO, really early players maybe? Whales after they buy their covers? I would think whales would have the iso from all their wins and placement.

Every time I need to level someone I go back to see the prices , I'm always thinking oh maybe I don't remember correctly but no, it's a terrible value
  • My guess would be that ISO sales go to players who are super-casual. Maybe they play 3-5 games a day or something so they have a few characters and a few covers but don't get a lot of the awards ISO and they still want to level up.
  • I bought tons of Iso in the beginning. And then stopped because I was winning enough to max characters.

I would buy again if it was less expensive, to max duplicate characters.

Ha Ha Ha! From a horrible deal to just a really, really terrible deal. Still no.

Releasing a 4* and immediately starting an iso sale the second the toury is over. Hmmn, I like a lot of the recent changes and hate thinking the things that D3 does are cash grabs but they make it sooooooo difficult. This one would seem obvious if starlord wasn't so lackluster.

And no HP sale to go with it, Boo D3..................................................Boo

Actually, there is exactly one thing that's good about this sale: apparently everyone can see it.

As opposed to the targeted sales for individuals, which is still one of the cheapest things I've heard of a game doing.

It's funny, because in the January Q&A answer video Will explained that they didn't want to break tokens into separate pools because then the optimal strategy would be to pick from just one pool, but many people wouldn't realize it. So, they're making efforts to stop people from making horrible decisions.

Then they put up this sale on ISO, which is still a horrible deal but gives the impression that it might be a good deal to some of the less informed players?

    Inconsistent philosophy much?
  • Until 20 dollars max levels a 4 star, it won't be worth it.
  • As a 2-3* transitioning player currently limited by iso, I am the perfect customer to buy iso.
As many have stated the prices are WAY too high.
I think the balance point people would agree on, $20 should max a 3*.

If that were the case I'd jump at the chance to max 7 3*s I have waiting

Not for the newcomers who would never catch up.
