Gotta say, I love the 8h timers

8 hour only hurt the new players. One on the last grind people with tons of cash or major people will be able to grind these all the way down to 0. If your a new player good luck trying to stick with with the big boys. Know for a fact they keep up with the 8 hour timers i will be going elsewhere.

Ugh, slidecage, really? Do you have to spam every thread with your threats to leave the game? We get it, you're not obligated to keep playing a game you disagree with.

On topic, I played way suboptimally and still finished #2 by a wide margin. My goal was to always have the bar ticking, and I'd double clear if I expected to be busy or sleeping for a long period of time.

Maybe the upper echelons of PvE brackets were battling it out, but despite my overall playtime being pretty high to finish #2, I found this PvE to be way less time-consuming and stressful than The Hulk, even if The Hunt is awful overall. I wonder what 12h subs would be like on The Hulk with 8h refreshes? Maybe that would be more of a mad dash than this was.

One thing I absolutely hated was 36 hour subs. I really don't want to play on the 12h opposite of the endtime I picked. Can we have future PvE subs be multiples of 24h please?

I do agree with you. love the 24 hour subs so you can easy keep track of it. Hated the 36 hour ones since you had to get up in the middle of the night if you wanted to grind towards the end. I dont see how they say that the 8 hour refresh help people. I mean i usually hit top 20 (top 50 if im not playing that hard and from 20th spot to the top spot is maybe 15k difference on the last few PVES.) I look at the pve right now got 70k in 15th with nods to grind. First is like 120k , then 115k then falls to 90 k. That is a 30k drop from 1st to 5th it was never that big in the 3 hour refresh.

Also i like to moan and complain about stuff (if you have not fig. that out yet

if i had to pick between say 4 hour refresh with 36 hour nods or 8 hour with 24 hour nods, i would pick the 8 hour so i dont have to get up. Just saying they need to really start looking into lower rank touraments if a good number of people have just started playing in the last 3 months, how many will stick around if they continue to be crushed by the major players.

and if you think im moaning now just wait if i decide to get a tablet and have to start back at day 1

6 hour 24 hour nods would be nice (4 resets per nod) i dont know now im just rambling on

I think in 2 or 3 months from now once i get into playing PVP major i will like the 8 hour refresh but just playing PURE PVE theres nothing to do for 8 hours and sort of bored just waiting around waiting for a refresh.. now if they could add more stuff say like run a normal PVE and a DAILY PVE that would be neat (allow people who have more time on their hands to do something while they are waiting for the reset and dont like playing PVP or dont have the teams to play PVP that good

Good news on this front, I was able to sync my phone and tablet up just fine to play the same account.

started playing on pc and thinking going to tablet (or just running on both) would just be a pain going back to day 1 on the tablet (+ having to put all of the cash back into the game to get the to the same number of slots i have now)

Have yet to find a cheap tablet that allows you to hook into steam (think the only way to play the pc verison) Love for them to allow people to hook their steam accounts to facebook but since its been around for over a year and never happened i doubt it. I would still mostly play on the pc but its just a pain going on the pc in the middle of the night waking people up just to keep up with the rest of the group (tablet i can just play it in the living room)

hopefully there is a major sale coming really want to max out my star 3 star thor and maybe grab another 10 slots

So it looks like the devs think the community is in favor of 8 hours timers overall, but will be going back to 3 hours timers in the short term for the next new character release.

And they have not addressed what I think is the most valid complaint in Slidecage's argument: the end of sub grinds are now absolutely brutal. To get a top score in most pve brackets now still requires massive grinding. But now the endless grinding of being up ever 2:24 has been replaced my needing to grind for many hours at the end of each sub (as many as five full clears).

o forgot this one thing. One thing i loved about this PVE.. NO RUBBER Banding. I mean i hate when its in effect big time and someone who can miss the first day or two can come into it the last few days and crush everyone. The last pve before this i was 8th going into the final day, the points were shoved up so high if i did not play hardcore there would been no chance at keeping the top 10. So if they do keep the 8 hour refresh i hope the keep the rubber down to a slow pace.. See making all of these post cause im waiting for the refresh and have nothing to do

also love for them to find a way for people who play the PC can send gifts like you can do on the tablets

Has this been your experience? Because my experience was actually not bad at all. I played at the end, sure, but sub-optimally, never grinding down to 1 (probably not even 50%). My team would inevitably get wiped, and I'd shrug and move on to something else and still finished 40k above #10.

Anyway, having read the theories that 8 hour refresh times would be a mad dash for top ranking and experiencing something totally different, i was curious about other people's experiences and play styles. Anyone get to race another player to the finish line? i suppose the true test will come with the next new character release but it's comforting to know that you do not strictly need to adhere to the 8 hour refresh pace to place well (at least for now, maybe people haven't figured out the new system yet.) Here's to hoping the new 8 hour refresh stays!

Player 2 could've just been playing their usual way, and lucked into an easy bracket that allowed their way to get them Top 2. Not everyone can play every 8 hrs, so if they did 3 clears at once, they only had to play 1x a day.

I'm not seeing anything brtual at the end of the last 8 hours unless you're fighting for top 2. I'm pretty much just doing a clear every 8 hours and should easily finish top 10 overall, and before people say that's because they're not interested in Thor, The Hunt has extremely low scaling this time which should more than easily wipe out any cover desireability issue. I didn't even plan on playing The Hunt much but if Ares is only level 250 I might as well do it, and conversely if he was level 395 I'll definitely think twice about playing at all.

From my estimation the first person in my bracket is probably doing 4-5 clears and the second guy was doing 2 to 3 clears in the last 8 hours on top of the standard one clear every 8 hours. I was sitting at #2 with a triple clear at the end of first sub but decided I've better things to do with my time and just did a clear every 8 hours and looks like this will finish somewhere around 7 or 8th. I don't seem to ever get those bracket where you can waltz to a #1, but I can't really complain one clear every 8 hours for a top 10 either.

It's great. I got up to around 110 last night and then went to sleep. I got up this morning, went to work and the gym and came back and I only dropped to 150. Under the old system I'd probably be 300. Much less grinding needed, big thumbs up.

You are making yourself appear less than knowledgeable. You do not even have to take anyone's word for it. Look at the top player rankings. At least half in every bracket is newer players.

What i still love to see is though a daily pve running the same time as a normal PVE this would solve both problems
