    A level 3 Surgical Strike is basically a Thunderous Clap. If you can't take a Thunderous Clap you have no business fighting anyone in that tier. Now Surgical Strike roughly doubles in power for each level above 3 (damage increase + AP drain + AP generation) so you probably cannot take a level 4 Surgical Strike and certainly not a level 5 Surgical Strike, but a mid 100s X Force isn't likely to have Surgical Strike beyond level 3. If you're not sure, you can always check the stats before you start the fight.
