PVP isn't fun anymore

Really, it's becoming terrible.
First it's all 17-25 points fights against dummies (B4con_Magic & co.) and you MUST do a few of those, skipping them just gives you more dummies.
Then, after you hit 100 points, 2* people start appearing. But they give really few points, not more than 20, unless you start PVP REALLY late and your bracket time is almost over. Anyway, after you hit 200 they give you pennies.
Finally at 300-350 you hit the wonderful "X-Force plus 1 lv 166 3*" wall. But at this point I usually am bored and stop playing, as I had to fight 15-25 low levels 2* and dummies before getting there.
Before the new "choose your time zone" option was available, I recall fighting a lot of maxed 2* people for 30-40 points, a process that made reaching the "wall" much faster and actually entertaining. I had to fight 1, maximum 2 dummies. Not a whole army of them.
This new mechanics are making PVP dull and barely entertaining at all.

I do not quite agree with you.
The first 500-600 points are Iso grinding, a bit like Lightning Rounds. Above 600 it's a bit like before the cooldown, but it's easier to rank Top 5.
MUCH LESS stress, shielding, boosting...
Same with PvE though scaling is so high for me I can hardly play it now. I hope this will change soon, because I like PvEs.0 -
If you think you've got it rough, imagine being an early transitioner. Haha, I have to climb through the same dummy nodes for almost no points at all and then beat up the underdeveloped two star rosters and then...that's the end of my climb. Haha.
Same gruel at the beginning but no lightning dash at the end.0 -
I usually do the seed teams 2-3 times until they get to be worth 22-23. Then I skip the next node (usually seed team) and I get 28-34 point teams, usually 2* teams of various levels with a 100+ but not maxed Hulk thrown in for good measure. That gets me to about 400, where the points dry up entirely. I fight 18-20 point teams until I hit 600. Around there, I'll skip 5-6 times until I hit the wall of 166 worth 24-32. I'll pick and choose until I break 700, at which point I shield as fast as possible, because that's when I start getting absolutely reamed with defense losses.0

There are a lot of things I can complain about PvP but I don't seem to have encountered your issue. After beating the first seed team, I can find real players pretty easily, and I get 2-star and non-max 3-star teams as targets all the way to early 400, then that's when I start seeing max 3-star teams and X-forces. The X-force/Thoria teams start to appear around 600.0

I'm not complaining about difficulty, the problems are mainly:
1) No variety: I've fought more B4con_Magic / justagenius / lokivsleah etc. than real players lately. Then, when I manage to get rid of them, I have only a couple fights with normal team before entering the X-Force zone.
2) Low points. Once, I got mostly 25-40 points fights. Now, a fight worth 25 points looks like a huge treasure. Everything over 25 when I hit 300 it's a lvl270 xforce plus a lv166 daken/steve rogers/lazy thor.0 -
I'm really curious where all this '270 X Force everywhere' comes from because I sure don't see them. I mean, I see a lot of Thors and X Forces, but they're almost never at level 270 until you get to the top and often not in the optimal configuration either. In fact a lot of my easier wins is against X Force because X Force missing 1 in green or black (or both) is surprisingly weak. Same with Thor missing anything in Power Surge. No I don't check their covers before the fight since I can beat every team, but I do check on it once the fight starts since it's quite useful to know if they got Power Surge or Surgical Strike at a level you need to worry about or not.0

They're not lvl 270, but I'm not fighting a 150ish x-force for 17 points.0

That'd usually be a 3/3/3 at best and doing significantly less damage than a 2*. Sure he has a lot more HP but not taking damage is pretty important in PvP too and if your opponent picked someone who can't do damage that's usually good enough (it'd be something like 800 damage on X Force at level 3 at that level and Surgical Strike might do 100 damage per tile at best and not drain your AP). Besides, what do you think everything else is getting their points from? They're getting them from the same 18 point per match and it's your problem to pass up a freebie because you can't be bothered to check how strong your opponent is.0 -
You'd be surprised how many 5/5/3's there are sitting at 150-170. Of course you'll also see plenty of hilariously bad 1/2/5's at those level ranges so it's really just a PITA to look at rosters to target the ones that are bad...of course at 17 points even a terrible X-Force team is questionable.0

Well minds at 225. I think 150-170 is a liitle too low as you can take him out with some match damage and just one power. At level 225 hes down about 2K Health but his damage is over 90% of a 270 one.0 -
The most boring thing about PVP is the forced low-medium point opponents at 300/600(/900?)0
-
give me a 150-200lv x-force over a maxed top tier 3* any time
Lv 166 LDaken, Patch, Lthor, BP or Hulk cause way more problems than x-f. (going to have to add Marvel to this list after recent PvP - she was a real annoyance!)
This list, when faced, is normally cover optimised & seem to be played well by the AI.
I find that with the exception of 5 black in x-f he is not really an issue as denying green to the AI comes naturally, as almost any offensive team has a strong green user0 -
I am completely sick of PvP, if it isn't for a newish character. I was in a top 100 alliance for the first 9 seasons, and I am completely burned out of it. Especially with the new shield system. Now you seem to be able to find 35-45 pt matches of various difficulties up to 300, from 300-600 it is all good but beatable teams for 18-22 pts. At 600, you might see a few 25 pt fights against high 200 4*, or if you are really lucky you can find a hopper for 45-50. I don't like the game of hitting skip a few dozen times to find a fight worth the risk, so it just sucks.
I have bought two shields over the last season and a half, and the two times I have it hasn't even effected my placement, as I always seem to fall into the 50-100 range with about 600-650 pts. Sure I could score higher if I shield hop, but I prefer to get my one cover and keep the HP progressions for slots, and the occasional 4* cover now that 1300 is a pipe dream.
PvE is far more enjoyable to me, especially now with the 8 hr refresh. They may be mostly rehashes of the Dark Avengers, but it isn't an endless stream of the same featured character, X-Force and someone else. Plus I can actually top 5 those for 4*s, or top 10 for 3*s, without boosting and shielding.0 -

I'm not F2P, but I know a lot of F2P who have been playing for a year or so, with quite a big roster, who can perform quite well in PvP.
They definitely have skills to perform in PvP.
MPQ may look like a dumb Candy Crush (I acknowledge I just match 3 tiles over and over again), but it is not. And those who have the skills, can score high being F2P.
It may sound unfair, but some have to accept it.
You either have the skills, or you have the money.
Without any of them, there's no way you can succeed on MPQ.0 -
So while everyone else is stuck fighting guys worth 15-20 points it should be totally fine for you to get 45+ points? The guys getting those via coordinating are already way ahead of everyone else and unless one is worried about positioning for the very top in seasons either personally or in alliance those points don't even matter. The roster and the expected HP cost to pull away from the pack generally vastly exceeds the value of winning simply because you usually need the 4*s maxed to even attempt something like this in the first place so it's almost always just for personal amusement. Once the high point targets dry up, and they can dry up rather quickly, you might as well fight at 15 point X Force at level 150 over a 15 point 2* since it's probably even slightly less likely for a 3/3/3 level 150 X Force to retaliate simply because his skills can't even do anything meaningful even if he gets lucky, while a maxed 2*s with the right mix of luck can still deliver quite a beating. Seriously, check out an X Force with low covers and you'll find his skills can't even do 1000 damage. Yes there might be 5/5/3 low level X Forces out there but you can usually infer that by seeing the second guy is very strong too since it's borderline impossible to have a 5/5/3 X Force while not having another great character.
By the way, X Force has a ton of HP even at low levels, but if he's only doing 1000 damage on his 4 match move you'll probably still win just fine.0 -
really? someone's complaining about seed teams? are you guys saying that you don't like your first 100 pts being a cakewalk? they're not even low point matches - 20-25 points a pop.
somewhere, my homie whatflappinyo is slowly shaking his head and crying into his b4con magic sandwich...0 -
The best thing about seed teams is you have one less -45 point retaliation to worry about.0

I with they'd give you twelve seed teams to open up with, every time. If I could take a bracket that had nothing but 10 point seed teams all the way to 600, I'd take it.0 -
Do you enjoy beating seed teams hundred of times? Because I don't.
The main reason I avoid even not too high level X-forces if I don't get at least 22-25 points is that surgical strike might lead to insane cascades, and if AI has somebody like Ares or even 2° Thor they can instakill one of my 3* characters in one sweep move. This is not a simple hypothesis, it actually happened several times and I'm not risking anymore for a few points.0
