    Spider-man unlimited.

Pros: Almost as addictive as MPQ, there are some very similar elements in game structure and the transitions from beginner to advanced aren't as painful. You don't have to read the current spider-verse comic series but the game is more fun if you are.

Cons: On the downside, there isn't that level of deep strategy as there is with MPQ, and there is more chance of game fatigue after playing in a prolonged session.
  • Playing with my CoC. It passes the time in short bursts. And my 4* Hulk is awesome icon_e_smile.gif

But the chat....DEAR MOTHER OF GOD, it makes mpq chat look like the best thing ever invented.

That's pretty special. At one point I said about mpq chat, "Jesus, this thing is awful. *I* could write a better chat system than.. hang on, I have. MORE THAN ONCE!"
  • I play Fable Age as an MPQ diversion
  • My wife loves the new shield cooldown icon_e_smile.gif

"]Clearly those of you playing contest of champions haven't made it to act 2 yet. You need 3*+ characters to progress there. If you've played any amount of time you know 3* and 4* are ridiculously rare, even if you are a whale.

Eh, I have 8 3* and 1 4* in CoC and I'm a f2p. The only problem is acquiring enough resources to level them. Lol.

I strongly recommend Hearthstone. The only backdraw is that past tutorial, you play aginst other players in real time, so you can not pause the game (matches last less than 5 minutes, however).
  • I play the simulator to grind Iso or clear some PvE nodes.

I tried CoC too. It's nice, but I would not play it consistently though.
  • I tried CoC and it wasn't to my tastes.

Seriously though, it's got the tactical depth of a 2yr old's swimming pool and tires out quickly. Once you have a large roster then it becomes even more of a grind because roster size = amount you can score = placement in events. The system it uses where eventually you fight opponents who can out-damage you even if you block everything they throw at you is just stupid, so it's simply a case of getting more and more characters. The 2* tournaments are OK to rank in, but the 3* ones are virtually impossible to place in unless you've got a very mature roster. I think I placed 1500 in the last one playing pretty regularly and rewards went to the top 250?

On the plus side, I love the visual style and pausing to do something else doesn't have any downsides (compared to unshielding and having NO ONE interrupt you through pain of death).

PuzzleCraft (match game with elements of town building. Offline, you can go up to level 50 I think. I built a damn fine town of Djangoville xD).
QuizUp (online trivia matchups with people all over the world). Look me up there, I'm among Cleopatra Jones' friends icon_e_biggrin.gif
JewelQuest (match-3 with actual story! Still have to finish it).
Plants vs Zombies and PvZ 2.
