POLL: What is the best PvE Sub length?

Again there has been a lot of discussion and we have been exposed to a number of different sub lengths in the last few PvE's. I thought it would be good to give the devs some feedback on what the forum community thinks.

I'll go for 24 hours because, with time slices, you can at least be sure you can play at the end of each sub.
Other than that i'll just go for not 12h .0 -
As long as subs run back-to-back it's pretty much gotta be a multiple of 24. Whether that means my preference is one day or two depends on 'banding and refresh rate0
-
Definitely 24 hours. 12 hours can be a little stressful, more than 24 hours just means lots and lots of 20 ISO rewards.0
-
The 12 hour subs completely undermine the benefits of being able to choose your end time, since you have to choose a time that's both good and has 12h removed good. It also gives an additional advantage to people without work or school obligations, and they've already got a huge advantage in this game. 24 hours is simply the right amount. People can actually pick their end time and have it stable, they're not so long scaling goes nuts, and it's not so short people can miss entire subs (which has happened with me with the 12 hour ones before).0
-
Also, 12 hour subs would probably work better in events that do not have Easy/Hard subs running concurrently.0
-
It's seems to me that the whole point of time slices is stability. Having anything other than a multiple of 24 hours negates that stability. I like noon deadlines, other alliance members like midnight end times. But we are all struggling with the 'off' subs.0
-
I actually like the variable times. It keeps the game more dynamic as opposed to over scheduled like a job.0

I think people are undermining the benefits of 12 hours sub. During events such as hulk and ISO brotherhood, there are 2 sub events and both have 12H sub. If I get it right the ISO 8 pve event also have alliance rewards for those subs. That means u're getting up to 8 heroic tokens per day. A 4 days event will grant you 32 tokens!
That will help transitional players a lot as they needs those ISO, hp rewards, and tokens.
The odds aren't good and you will probably get 32 tinykitty 2* but that's worth some huge amount of ISO as well. So why not ? For those grinders that clear nodes every 3 hours this makes no differences to them. This only affects those who wish to rely on rubberbanding and catch up with the top leaderboards.
May the odds be ever in your favor..0 -
I really do like these 12 hour subs, all the Heroic tokens have given me more Bullseyes than World Professional Dart Champion Phil Taylor!0

Voted 12 hours for a few reasons.
- Offers the most variety in challenges to keep things more interesting. I wish we'd start to see some wave nodes in standard events as well.
- Most reward for your playtime by minimizing 20 ISO matches.
- They tend to be less of a grind to do well in. If you don't nail it in one sub you can still easily recover by the events end (at least as far as top 10 is concerned)
I enjoy 24 hour subs as well but 12 wins it for due to the feeling that your effort is always being rewarded.0 -
I voted 12h, because I'm going to be playing the whole time anyway; 12h subs recycles the node awards quicker so you get fewer 20 iso awards, and the rank awards SHOULD work out better, except in a case like this Hulk event, where the size of each sub is 1,000 instead of 200, which drastically reduces the amount of good rank awards given out.0

If the scaling is bad, you can't even play without boosting, so you don't earn Iso, you spend Iso to play....
That's my case with the Hulk. So I'm not playing it.0 -
Love the 12 hours because it means double the rewards. Now if only the rewards were worth a darn. Also would be less for 12 hour nodes if it was T50 to get heroics and not T200.
Work/School/Sleep/Life probably in an 8-hour chunk, this lets you run once before and after or twice before or after. The other 12 hour one you can rank more highly in.0 -
I say 24, but every other 12 hour works for me. I choose midnight as my end time. So when a sub starts at midnight, I can stay awake for a run through, then sleep (either on purpose or doze off during my 2nd run through)... then I try to get a clear in before the work day starts. Then I take my lunch at 11:30, finish one sub, start the next sub. When the sub starts at noon, I have more time to clear them regularly, though with this one, regularly means clear the easier one, then do as many in the tougher sub until I run out of health packs/characters, and wait for them to refresh, and pick up where I left off, so my refreshes wind up staggered and I have to play every hour and 10 mins anyway, waiting for at least 2 health packs to refresh to revive 2 players.
12 hour subs seem more stressful to me, though I do appreciate others pointing out the benefits of them.0 -
There are FAR better ways to increase the rewards than by just decreasing the sub length to 12 hours. I don't know about anyone else, but a midnight EST finish is pretty much perfect for me. I'm awake and generally am just relaxing watching TV for that last hour or two before bed around midnight. What works considerably less well is a noon finish during the week, when I'm too busy at work to dedicate time to play on my phone for an hour to do a full clear at the end. At least with the (awful) 60 hour subs, I can always do the missions the night before when it would end at noon to ensure I at least get something. With 12 hour subs, it's entirely possible for me to miss entire subs in the mornings because they're just too short. I would imagine plenty of others are in the boat where one time works great and 12 hours later is considerably less so. As others have said, subs really need to be multiples of 24 hours, whether it be 24 or 48. Personally, I think 24 is ideal.0
-
I love the 12 hour subs for the larger amount of rewards they generate, but I probably slightly prefer 24 hours so that having one thing going on in real life doesn't totally mess up my ability to do well in the sub. Once the sub gets over 24 hours they become too repetitive, scale too much, and 20 ISO rewards become too disheartening.0

Yes, 2/1000 players get 2 packs each 12h sub. Man, that's so many people benefiting from the 12h subs.0 -
In an event like Simulator where I'm actually competing, 24 hours would be best, though 48 is more realistic for that event.
In an event like Hulk where I'm still not entirely sure why I joined aside from boredom, I prefer 12 hours because it's more likely I can quick-strike my way to a decent sub prize.
In a Heroic, I prefer 0 hours. Kill it with fire.0 -
24+ hour subs at least have reasonable HP placement rewards normally. 12 h sub HP rewards are nearly nonexistant since they are only reachable to 1% of the playerbase in the event.0

This is an important point. I haven't gotten HP out of a single sub this time because the stupid 12h thing means I can't choose the best end time, but the least bad two end times.0
