    Great idea.
  • With over 16k 5 star votes, wouldn't venting through review just make you look like an entitled player?

No offense is meant, but I just don't think a new player, especially a casual player, would look at the small amount of negative comments in reviews and think the same way.

I understand the concept behind the idea though, but I think it's too little too late to be of any service.
  • It might feel like a drop of water in a bucket but it still doesn't mean you shouldn't let your voice be heard. It may help a future player in their decision making process.
  • On the iOS App Store each version gets its own seperate rating in addition to the cumulative one.

I've supported the game with $$$ purchases, because I had faith in the developers.

However, recent events have erased that faith. I've played thousands of games, and I've won a few game design awards. This is the worst attempt at game balance I've ever seen in any game, ever. It's comparable to changing the power of a chess queen to "Moves as the bishop, but only after the opponent moves the queen."

There are many good discussions on the board for how to improve characters and balance. The developers seem to be ignoring these discussions entirely, and are making arbitrary decisions with zero consideration for proper game balance.

They've ruined their own Prologue chapters, which were previously well-thought out and challenging. Now, the Ragnarok events are calk-walks.

    Good analogy!

I was tempted to put the developers around a table, having lunch, when one of them gets a dab of mustard on the side of their cheek. The obvious thing to do is to get a napkin, but instead they pull out howitzers, bazookas, and chainsaws to try to fix the problem. The person with the dab of mustard uses the chainsaw to fix the problem, removing all body parts above the nipples, while the other developers are firing their various weapons.

The developers aren't showing any indication that they understand game balance or small fixes and improvements. I had faith in them, and now I've learned that my faith was grievously misplaced.

    This is an excellent point.

Reviews made will certainly effect the ratings on Itunes, Steam and Android. The 4.5-5 star ratings the game has earned will be impacted by views of the player base.
  • This also adds the problem: why should I care trying to get 3* rewards, when they can be changed so wildly without any sense?
If they want to nerfbat this game until it's much slower, it would just lose all the appeal.
This game is a HUGE grind. But a fun one, all in all. Most of the times.

No one wants a HUGE and SLUGGHISH grind. For sure I don't. icon_cry.gif

Balance changes are good (and are still arguable because there isn't a respec option), while making utter garbage of a rare 3*, that lots of players spent big money/time to achieve, or trying to achieve, is the best way to lose players forever.
When the game cheats you, you quit. Simple enough.

1r/4g rag owner - cheated of LR efforts and VERY wary about my other chars.
  • Itunes only has 273 votes. A dent could certainly be made there.

If I don't get a response from the developers tomorrow, I'll quit but not before writing a bad review. I regret spending 20,000 HP this morning (costing $100) for five Thunderclap covers, only to have them nerfed four hours later.

please keep us updated, simply because i would like to see if developers even respond anymore

No problem, I will definitely let you know.
  • Bump to keep this relevant
  • As of right now apple states that reviews are not available to be given at this time.

I was quite happy with the game prior to now. Rag was my goal, followed by finishing off my C.mag, spidey, GSBW and even IM40. Now? I have no idea what the goal is, or if it will even be there when I am getting close or is it just a mirage. So I left a 1* rating on the new version and pointed out the devs don't know how to balance. (Rags needed a change, but not a complete nuking to dust)
  • Bumping to keep relevant
  • Bumping again
  • iTunes is no longer displaying reviews for MPQ for me. I wonder if the barrage of one-stars triggered some sort of moderation process.
