Is my MMR too high? How to tank? Lightning round frustration

Last night I placed top-25 (#12 when I last checked) using 70Thor**, 85Wolv**, and 41Doom***. Mischiefmaker and Beezer were both in my bracket too.
I ran the first half of the round with no boosts, and the second half with boosts. I find the key is to be able to generate points as fast as possible, and not bother with retaliations. Maybe my boosted Doom had enough hp to dissuade casual attackers in my bracket.
I had tanked my MMR beforehand and thus started with a bunch of level-1 AI opponents.
I love seeing Modern Black Widow opponents because they have so little health. With boosts, I can usually kill them in the first hit or two.
Something strange about MMR: after my high placement, I checked out the opponents in my next LR, and they were all mid-level players. I decided to skip it entirely. 10 hours later, I wake up and check the new LR and see a bunch of level-1 AI opponents again. Did my MMR drop by itself overnight?0 -

If you enter the tournament area (you don't even have to select someone, or fight anyone) playing RIGHT at the beginning of any tournament (LR or otherwise) then you're much, much more likely to get the seed teams, simply because there's nobody in your MMR to pit you against.
You won't see that if you enter even a minute later though unless your MMR is really tanked.0 -

Yeah, if my MMR is high, I try to get in just as the lightning round starts. I can usually get to 200ish points before seeing the 100+ villains start popping up.0
