Only true if your mmr is maxed. If there are easier targets around for similar points, people will choose them. You don't have to outrun the zombies, only me.

This second tournament, I didn't grind (ok, just a little bit towards the end, but mostly did every event once for the free first time ISO and random reward), and I only managed to eek out a top 5000 finish.

The points system for tournaments does need to change, but I really hope it's not completely about grinding.
due to the broken points right now grinders are getting pinched out so you can't reach progression rewards. I routinely reach 1100-1200 in each tournament, but lately haven't gotten above 800 because very few people are reaching high point levels so no one is worth enough points to reach upper levels.

I want casual players wish the had my kind of time to waste cry if you want I don't care I want 5000 more points than you while I fail at trying to catch the guys in front of me is that to much to ask for a real points system earn 10 points get 10 points it's easy

You have more time than I have to play this game, and therefore you should be rewarded above me?

What the hell kind of school of thought does that adage belong to? Does its name sound like Kantian?

You should really think about playing an MMO. That's where this type of attitude shines.

Yes I should be reward for playing better and more than you

As for money. Why would I put money on a game where any casual non spender can't come in when he has an extra min and steal my spot that I played 5hrs to gain.

Make no mistake my complaints do NOT come from scoring low as I havent scored low yet when I do Ill complain about that I suppose

No brackets in lightning rounds. That's more pathetic than I had accounted for I suppose I just assumed brackets since only rags give me a challenge must just be those covers all others. Hood doom mags Loki can be top 5 in 20 min of play easy

You don't play better than I do. More, maybe. Better? Nope.

Wow, are we discussing a game or the welfare system?

Necrofessor's argument and frustration basically hinges on his thought that he is clearly the best and there is no way he should ever lose anything ever. Also that only he is hardcore and everyone else is casual. Not even remotely hyperbole.

The rest(mostly) is discussion on the game's environment to encourage different types of players in order to keep up a healthy economy and player base.

Necro is essentially a casual gamer who is playing one game hardcore, so he thinks he isn't a casual.

This IS a game for casuals. Don't be fooled. While I'm playing a Symphony of the Night run on luck mode (high luck, low HP and damage dealt, high damage taken) without the double jump relic, because I know enough tricks to get wherever I need to get before I unlock the bat spirit and the gravity boots, keep religiously playing a match 3 game and pretend you're not a casual.

Meanwhile, since I can beat at least three people in the time it takes you to beat two, I'm going to continue to place higher in tournaments and lightning rounds than you do. Not to mention I actually employ strategy like queueing up high point matches, pushing out a high HP team as to deter attackers when I'm not actively playing, and making sure most of my matches are against people who can't even compete with my covers.

    You bloody casual.

It's not just because of the points system. It was also easier before because we used to take tournaments that lasted 4+ days, so more people got up to 700-800, which enables those who want to to be able to push higher.

These double shots are a bad thing.

I think I speak for all us filthy casuals when I say. That's just weird, you weirdo. icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • My experience is that no matter how casual you think you are, you're always hardcore to most people, and no matter how hardcore you are, you're always going to be casual compared to some people. In a game like MPQ, the hardcores essentially cancel each other out. If there are at least 3 equally hardcore guys, then their efforts cancel each other out, whether it's PvE or PvP, so unless you think there are less than 2 other guys as hardcore as you in the entire world, you shouldn't get too hung up on getting your deserved prizes for being hardcore.

There's nothing wrong with being a casual. Necro just thinks he isn't and made this thread to vilify that type of gamer. They're generally the most fun to play co-op with, since they care more about the experience and having fun than they do 100%'ing something.

Quite frankly, this thread should be nuked.
  • Casual and hardcore is just a relative term. This game is actually quite good at finding guys equally hardcore as you, which turns you into just another filthy casual when everyone in your bracket is as hardcore as you. This is why we have so many people swear by tanking, because otherwise you're just another filthy casual when all your opponents are as hardcore as you.

True but it's better that way.
  • I consider myself a casual player, but even I think that the rubber banding is some epic ****.

esp in the Hulk event....play early, get 30 pts/ battle. Play 1hr before closing time, get 2000/battle. What in the actual hell is up with that? icon_e_confused.gif

If you have all of this time can't you take a little of it and use it to write coherently? I think I agree with some of what you're saying but unfortunately most of what you've written reads like an F paper in one of my English as a Second Language classes.

IMO you are the IDIOT OF THE WEEK. You've never played against any1 in this game ever before in your life since you can't play against people. Since there is no points system (don't call this rubber banding bull-sh*t a points system because it isn't) that means there is no true way to measure skill or anything. That also makes every comment you've made in this thread obsolete due to your completely useless little brain.

Not sure your point with this. If it was to show off nerdiness then I guess you succeeded. I hope you don't brag about your covers and mad puzzle quest skills on dates.
  • Yeah...way to not read the thread you two.
