How many slots do people generally have?

Yeah, I'm pretty careful about spending on covers. I did buy a couple of blue spidey covers then had to sell one, but it was after a few weeks, so no big.0

I'll agree that spending HP on cover slots isn't terribly fun for me. Much more fun to earn them over time. There would need to be something really pressing that I needed a given character to win an event to get me to buy a skillup.
Maybe if I get super frustrated in mags lightning rounds or something I might get a red or something.0 -
I have 32; 30 for all the characters, & 2 for tanking
You can probably get away with having 25 end up dropping classic Hawkeye, Yelena, venom, IM35 and one other person whose face you don't like if you want to have as many characters as possible
I don't know why, but I feel like people should keep bagman0 -
i keep 30 slots...1 for each character. i acquired most of them early in the game when slots didnt cost so much hp.0

I'm probably of the unpopular opinion, but @OP: 20 covers are absolutely fine. I have 22 covers and I don't use anything on the second page. I'm just keeping them there IN CASE they get buffed later.
Right now barring future changes, here are the characters I would definitely keep:
2**: Everyone but Bag-Man, which totals to (10) I believe.
3**: Black Widow, Magneto, Ragnarok, Punisher, The Hulk, Spider-Man, which is (6). The reason is Loki/Doom/Hood are VERY HARD to get covers for. The same is with Rag/Mag, but those are so good you roll the dice.
So in theory, I would be happy with having only 16 slots for those characters listed above. If you want you can have 2 more slots for the 4* characters you'll never use, or for a few 1* characters you really like (Storm/Iron Man/Widow). If you dislike using passive characters (Daken/Bullseye), then you only need 14 covers, etc...0 -
im being an elitest jerk and only keeping 3* and above. i have 23 covers, but there's 9 empty slots or something like that. i dont see myself buying more.0

My question is whether its worth purchasing up to the maximum capacity (40) if currently I have no real use for them (in case the possibility of cover slot prices goes up)?0

Prices might go up, they might go down... it all depends on player behavior. My 32 slots are probably helping to keep prices high, sorry.0

No.
Personally, I can't even see a reason to keep more than 25 spaces currently. There are too many ineffective characters and the game gives you zero incentive to 'collect them all'. Not even some kind of acheivement award.
Actually, now that I think about it, this is one of the few F2P games I have ever played that didn't have some kind of acheivement system in place. Odd.0 -
I find the slots to not be so expensive. In the hulk event, it's easy for me to get many 100hp rewards, and 50 hp rewards aren't so hard to come by in other events either. I'll probably use my hp to buy skills for the overpowered characters like ragnarok.0
